@@muditgandhi4634I think you are missing the point of nfs then lmao, it’s a racing game first everything else is secondary. Basically gameplay > everything else
Let's be honest. They never topped the Vibe and Graphics of NFS 2015. That game has a lot of issues, but it was truly a great attempt at being the successor to NFS Underground. Even the sequel (NFS Underground 2) couldn't capture that Vibe of the first game. In terms of atmosphere, it feels drastically different from Underground. A 10th Anniversary Remaster of NFS 2015 would be great. No need to update Graphics even, just add more new content, Offline Play, more Car Slots etc.
Anyone who puts Hot Pursuit (2010) and Most Wanted (2012) at the top for the modern NFS games is someone who actually values fun over whatever the current NFS fanbase wants. Great list.
@@sisebreed6380holy crap some other people that like this version. I really hope they re release most wanted 2012. I loved it. That game is where I meet my friends I play with now! This is what NFS most wanted us missing. Friends Leader boards!! For races speed traps & jumps!! Why they haven’t brought back the jump leader board billboard with your avatars face on it again is beyond me. That was the best you’d be driving around and see a friend had beaten your jump with their avatar face taunting u. Heat at least had the top 5 or 3. But for any event or jump, speed trap they really should bring back the friends leader boards.
NFS: Most Wanted will always hold a special place in my heart since it introduced me to the franchise. I got it for free off Origin back when I was a kid, and I fell in love with it. Even though I knew where the best cars were, I always stuck with my Shelby Mustang GT500 because for me the real goal was looking badass, evading the cops, and doing cool stunts in the open world. Probably why I ended up liking Heat so much later on lol
Most wanted was my first experience too, when my cousin gave me his old ps3 it had the demo for most wanted and I played so many hours on that demo. So fun
Hope you mean Most Wanted 2005 lol That game was amazing. Fast cars, cheesy stories, insane cops, and tons of racing modes to keep things fresh. THAT needs a remaster.
I will never understand the complaint about the game being always night-time, like everyone was begging for a new Underground game or spiritual successor; they gave us all-night and people still brought that up as one of the main reasons that the game was trash.
@@amossando218 Honestly yeah, its pretty underrated, and to be honest, it's pretty good, and a lot of the times, its a pretty laid back game to play for fun or just to chill. if you want to play on hard mode, there's a mode called prestige after you finish the main story. It's pretty challenging and honestly one of the best things about it.
My favorite is definitely Hot Pursuit 2010 and Hot Pursuit Remastered 2020, these are pretty much the same with minor changes (better graphics, DLC cars for free in Remastered version and crossplay), but that's the reason why I love it, they kept everything from OG Hot Pursuit 2010 and made it slightly better.
Yeah, I know that sucks, but what can we do? The reason was licensing problems and I don't know if there's a way to avoid that. Sorry for late reply. Also holy shit I got over 60 likes wtf
Maybe I'm playing nfs wrong but what I find I enjoy in the series is being able to customise cars. I found payback really fun because I could build up a garage and match my cars with what i would use them for. For instance for the enforcer missions I had a blacked out e30 or for drifting I had a silvia and a RX& that I styled after the RX7 from initial D. It was never about the games story itself it was about the story I'd make from the cars and having specific roles for them. Heat is very similar as well, it's a game I can turn the hud off and just go drift a car through the city just vibing. Personally I hate microtransactions in games but I didn't ever feel like it was neseccary in payback, you get shipments as you go and it's only things like tire smoke/nos colour and air suspension, which are pretty minor compared to body modifications,
same here, the reason I love NFS games is usually the customisation of cars. The last game I played was NFS prostreet but I saw some of the options for wraps/liveries in NFS heat and I really liked 'em.
honestly nfs payback is one of the best games for me as i love cars and i love building them up to look and feel awesome and i %100 the game to along with insane stats and almost 500 hours and 115 cars most being at a high level
The cards was the part I didn’t care for! I didn’t like the matching to get upgrades and what not. I’ll admit I haven’t played much of it, but that’s something I didn’t care for. Otherwise I enjoyed it
Personally I enjoyed payback so much I remember having one of the fastest builds for the skyline and remembering when a bunch of people would be at the long drag strip at the airport just drag racing one and another and having a total blast
Nobody talks about it but heat will always be my #1. There’s nothing exceptionally wrong with it and I find that everything about it is interesting. Because there’s no issue with it I think that heat should be top 2. I always had a brilliantly fun time solo or with friends. It’s an amazing game and I always love it every time I play it
Sane for me heat is simply just perfect. One thing i wish is that it had more updates. I think if they updates and content releases it would be one of their best selling ever.
At least some people enjoyed it. I absolutely hated it. The story to me was really boring, and I couldn't find any reason to like any of the characters. The mechanics were pretty good, the map was also pretty good so playing it would have been fun but the soundtrack... The soundtrack was horrible. I could not find a single song that I liked in there and this was the first time that I've experienced that in a video game.
@@scaryjerryofmerrykerriemay2727Heat doesn't have a single fucking rock song or anything "hard" or "aggressive" and that's sad. It's like "Need for Nap time" with heats soundtrack, I swear to god.
Shift 2 Unleashed was my unexpected NFS, that became one of my favorites. The visceral feeling of using that Helmet Cam, is unbeatable, especially going fast around the Nordschleife. Spent hundreds of hours trying out cars, tuning them, and modding the game extensively, to have better handling.
@@IamriAnA-234 It definitely has some inaccuracies on the car sounds, biggest offenders would be the Huayra and the Carrera GT. Huayra uses the Zonda's V12, while Carrera GT uses R8's V10.
Honestly racing games being 30fps has never really bothered me. Forza Horizon 2 and 3 are 30fps and they're two of my favorite racing games of all time, the presentation is still fantastic so it doesn't look or feel bad.
well it becomes a problem when there is a bunch of motion blur and you move your camera around a lot, you cant see anything then, unless if you have a higher fps, then you have a better outlook on things during the high octane sequences
@croatiaboy11 I can see that. I don't personally have too much of an issue with that though so for me personally it's a very easy adjustment to make. Guess it depends on the individual game and its presentation though.
@@dylangaletti395 well it can be a massive problem when youre racing or playing an fps, you have less time to react because your vision is impeded, this is why fps and effective and smart usage of motion blur in racing games is really important
Payback is underrated and deserves respect. I'm a huge fan of Blackbox era games yet I had an absolute BLAST with Payback when I played it recently, to the point that I'm willingly going for 100% achievements. Gameplay wise it's really fun, driving feels good, sure drifting is still the fastest way to go through corners but it no longer bothers me like it used to. I really liked the soundtrack. It fits the setting quite well, like Kicks by Barns Courtney is the main theme of the game in my head - it's just perfect. Story wise it's way better than I expected, sure it's over the top but most games from this franchise are. Main characters are fine, Mac obviously being my favorite. The only thing I kinda dislike are the offroad events, but they're sorta forced by the world map I think, which is fine in my book. A lot of long straights to speed through in the desert, with winding roads making for great drift spots on the left side of the map, canyons in the right upper corner, and the city setting right underneath it. Car selection got updated since 2015 and many cars which didn't see many visual mods in 2015 got them here, like the S15 and R32 for example. Yeah sure, that's the game that marks when Toyota became absent in the series, but honestly it doesn't bother me like it used to. There are many way better and cooler cars to drive than picking the Supra for the 3232525th time. In conclusion, I'm pretty sure I just had to grow up in order to truly understand this game's potential. Easy A tier, S tier contender - definitely better than Heat. Oh, and about the "microtransactions" aspect. EA back in circa 2017 was really agressive with putting lootboxes and premium currency into their games, I'm pretty sure that Ghost had no other choice but to kneel down to the publisher and just put them in. And honestly it's not even half as bad as people put it. Noone is forcing you to buy any lootboxes, you actually get them FOR FREE for simply progressing through the game, completing daily challenges, etc. Performance tuning with speed cards isn't that bad either, I had no problem with getting my cars to the spec I wanted. Worst case scenario I had to wait couple minutes until the shop gets restocked. Simply turn in every card you win for a race for the tokens (you get them from shipments too, a LOT of them) and use them to spin for the parts you actually want.
I couldn't agree more with you. Payback was my first NFS game, and i truly believe its one of the best ones. The hate this game has received is actually kinda mind-boggling to see, like I LOVE the game, but a LOT of ppl hate it. OOH and the soundtrack IS the fucking game. I LOVE posty's song, and every time i listen to it now, i can only think abt Mac drifting a 911 in the desert streets. Absolute UNIT of a game and will always have a special place in my heart
YES YES finally someone who doesn't hate payback. IN MY OPINION is the best nfs, to show you how good it is for me of you look in "journal" to driver details, I have been playing for 750 hours 19m and 56 seconds, 25 hours in wrap editor, 18 hours in visual customization, and an hour in performance customizations. A total of 350,910,041 cash, and idc about lootboxes, everyone complains about the transaction, but you can EASILY get lootboxes for free, just do a like a mission and boom your done, I lived it so much, I bought the speedcross and multi-player, is amazing! So this is why I love nfs payback😄
Rivals was my first nfs game and I was addicted to it. I like being able to play as a cop and racer interchangeably and I also like the crostini at ion.
Weirdly enough Unbound’s graffiti style effects have grown on me. It made the effects more like an artistic interpretation that only the players see and doesn’t exist in the world they’re in, as compared with a full 3d effect that felt like it’s actually there in that world if you know what I’m saying. Among these games though I think it was Rivals and Hot Pursuit that I had the most play time. I enjoyed playing as a cop and busting other racers lol.
Rivals and Hot pursuit/ hot pursuit remastered are the best for me. They are just so fun and intense. The turbo sounds in the games give me goosebumps as well. These two games are the top two need for speeds I play now along with unbound. Rivals is criminally underrated holy. it can be horrible at times tho
100% the driving physics in unbound are broken the drifting and cornering is useless if I can jus burst nitro a corner that's what rlly made me jus stick with heat still
Thank you! And on top of that, you lose sooo many races for so long in the game because they make you stick with the same car, that’s REALLY OLD, and costs 10’s of 1k’s of dollars to mod but they only give you 5k per event because the computer is so much better than you🤦🏾♂️So that’s why I’m playing Heat rn and it’s amazing🤩They pay you 12k or more per event, even if you place lower than 5th; you’ll probably get at least 4k🤷🏾♂️and you can mod your car or buy new cars SUPER EASY👍🏾Heat should be #3 behind Most Wanted & Hot Pursuit🔥🔥🔥
Everyone says nfs the run doesn’t have customization other than changing colors but every car in the game has bodykit presets with rims that make them look vastly different so it actually does has decent customization the only issue is that the customization while not bad is extremely limited to preset body kits and wheels rather than you being able to choose individual body parts
2015 I don’t know about you but I personally loved 2015, I bought it 4 years ago when I found it on sale in a bundle with gw2 and unravel and I just never played it until recently around the start of august, and I loved every aspect about it from the cars(which weren’t as many as heat or payback but they had a Supra) to the graphics and music and also the cutscenes, they were corny cheesy but good imo, and I loved the fact that they had ken block in there, that in its self was pretty dope. And for payback I can understand that it was put so low because of the loot boxes but i had a blast playing it, I loved its drifting and off-road, and I liked how the map was really big, it wasn’t as good as much as the other games but for me it’s a gem.
Don't you find 2015 kinda boring? Coz even if I put my favourite music on, it doesn't change much. This game is perfect for putting me to sleep :) It's not so bad, it's just mediocre.
Ive always felt that HP2010 and Rivals are on the same level of amazingness, Rivals is basically just open world HP2010 and whilst I never got to play it when everything was fully online, playing it offline has got to be the most fun I've ever had playing an NFS game. The handling and sense of speed felt really good, and after playing Heat I realized how much I underappreciated Rival's soundtrack, absolute bangers in that game.
Rivals was my first game then i played payback and heat and found rivals the most fun but the second least things to do only beaten by payback. Its a shame it is so overshadowed and underrated
Honestly, you should ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS, play Rivals on Offline mode when you're progressing. I hadn't even signed into my NFS account, the servers were just THAT BAD. I recommend it if you want to play online, you have to get the fastest cars in the game, or at least the f12 (In racer) or Bugatti Veyron (In cop). I personally got the Koenigsegg One: 1 (DLC pack, it's free).
I agree with the list, but I prefer Simcade physics to the arcade. NFSIISE really had the best of both words, with 3 options: Simcade, Arcade and "Wild".
@@DutchyVanDerLindey I played it on the PS3 until the loading screen turned black and then it just wouldn't work. It broke my heart. And hopefully I can get it on PC if I get one.
I love the heists in payback and the crew was a lot more tolerable then most of the new games Jess was really annoying and cringe but i enjoyed the story
NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 was hands-down the best overall game in the series since NFS Most Wanted 2005. It kept the gameplay simple by not pushing out too many features, but was still enjoyable for an arcade racer experience. The graphics were ahead of its time and the gameplay was very smooth with the PC version having amazing performance optimization. NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 was well-deserving of a remastered release for modern consoles in 2020. A masterpiece I fell in love with on my first gaming PC back in the day.
A very bold take on Unbound being better than Heat so I will list of a few critics about this.. Art Design: While the art style does look unique, I honestly hope it doesn't become the future of NFS. It should just stay on the Unbound series. Writing: I don't think it's "woke" but it still has the most cringiest dialogues that I've ever heard in a NFS game (from people talking about animes, cute animals, dad jokes, instagram, etc..), definitely gives off that modern writers vibe there. Cop chases: I'm surprised that you never mentioned this, which is probably the disappointing part of this game, imo. Heat levels are only tied to your experiences per day so any car you choice will still be the same level then it resets in the next day, braindead cops (just dive into a river and they will stupidly jump with you, making it easier to escape), Less cop units (only takes like 5 + 1 or 2 choppers to chase you) & No Rhinos. Less challenging and downgraded. Overall, Unbound is a still good modern NFS game, It just doesn't the have the same charm as Heat had. I respect your opinions though. Just had to share my thoughts on it.
I was waiting for u to rank NFS MW 2012 up top and when I found out it's in the top 3 I knew that u really had the best times of your life. NFS MW 2012 one of the most enjoyable and fun I've ever played.
Damn, I personally loved Rivals, and I even redownloaded it recently for some nostalgia and I have been really enjoying it. It has its theme well determined, good and aggressive cop AI, a diverse and beautiful map, a great soundtrack, and overall it lives up as the successor of Hot Pursuit 2010. I think you and many others are way too harsh on it.
Hp2010 and rivals were the funnest of the modern games, by far imo. The others had customization and story over them but aren’t as fun (except The Run but I stopped because of using the same car for too long) as the ones I mentioned. Criterion is just too good 👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥
Am i the only one who loved the different vibes that Payback gave me? Of course it wasnt the best of all, but i dont think it deserves the last place 😔
Payback is my favorite game in the new generation of nfs but 3 things ruined the game 1. The speedcards to upgrade your cars 2. No cops ( not like it used to be ) 3. There weren’t to many regular races offline even tho online had way more
I hated the pay2win feature. It was like gambling but for Racing. Like you had to be really lucky to get good stats on your cars and that wasn’t really cool. That game will always be dead last for me. I beat it don’t get me wrong but it didn’t have the essence of what nfs is.
Great review. I’ve been bolstering my collection for my Xbox and thought about the need for speed franchise but it’s been a while since I’ve played and there are so many titles. This helps put things in perspective
Finally someone who thinks just like me about mw 2012 and hot pursuit. I think criterion is great. I always liked the burnout-like style for nfs. Especially in mw 2012 the city design was great. All those ramps and billboards were placed wisely. Those realistic looking statues, metro stations, construction sites etc. I just loved it.
Criterion always the best for makes racing games, my opinion NFS Unbound are lot better MW 2012 actually good, but it's kinda too short and for HP 2010 the best part is online events, Offline events are only good when I'm a racer, when I'm a cop it's not that much fun
Heat is my 1st NFS game since PS3 and i have 0 regerts (spelled like that on purpose). I bought the game 2 days ago for $3.50. I wanted Unbound but the price just isn't worth it.
MW 2012 is one of my favorite NFS games in the series. Not my all time favorite though. Can't say its a good game without someone screaming about MW05. MW05 is a goated game and it's actually my second favorite behind UG2 (controversial, I know) but damn everyone worships MW05 like it's a God.
2015 has the best atmosphere. I like the payback map and the daytime also the desert area looks pretty fine. Did not really like unbound they just added everything from heat and added some cars and effects. Map and anything else is really similar. Thought we would get much more….
Agreed on 2015. I found it kind of funny he said 2015 had a boring world, but liked Rivals for being based on California. 2015 is literally LA, and Rivals are the shitty burbs.
@@seventh-hydrarivals has the best map imo. Most of the other modern nfs games have a generic american city map found in every game ever, but I guess thats because of the “street racing” theme which they still haven’t managed to pull it off properly.
@@Yaro2 I guess I'm biased because living in SoCal, I associate those areas with boredom and/or disgust. 2015 had a lot of buildings straight copied over from LA, and nailed the more grungy atmosphere of 90s LA. Heat and Unbound are more 'generic city map' imo. They're like Metropolis, and 2015 is Gotham.
@@seventh-hydra I see where you are coming from, we tend to get bored of places that resemble our local area (and we hate the rich too), so it makes sense that rivals’ map would be a turnoff at a first glance, however rivals’ map is the most varied in the entirety of the franchise featuring green forests, yellow deserts and snowy mountains plus the map is actually built to be fun for racing instead of being realistic, all these factors together I think make rivals’ map the best one. For heat and unbound yes you are correct and I agree they are boring city maps, however I disagree on 2015 being that great either, it’s a good map I agree on that much however the “gotham tall buildings dark gloomy atmosphere” isn’t that great either, first of all city maps are doomed to have 90 degree turns which are awful, second it’s nighttime all the time so that sucks and lastly it feels like I am in a “new york like” map which there are so many video games with a new york like city as their map (watch dogs, spider-man, batman, gta 4, etc…) so it doesn’t feel that special imo. All in all I think nfs should try to have more fantasy-like maps rather than try to make a realistic and boring map.
I agree that Hot Pursuit 2010 deserves the number 1 spot, but then Rivals has to be close by since it's so similar, and in many ways it is just an improved version of 2010. You criticized Rivals' map, health bar system, soundtrack, and non-existing story, and you downplayed its weapons, meanwhile you praised Hot Pursuit for not having a story and just being about gameplay, the weapons, the map, and the cop racer dynamic. Basically all the things you praised about 2010 were in Rivals, and the things you criticized about Rivals you didn't mention in Hot Pursuit or any of the other games after. Also, Most Wanted 2012 was easily one of the worst modern Need for Speed games. Ok, rant over.
Not gonna happen due to BlackBox being a dead developer, and I doubt EA would let Criterion do a remaster. MW2012 was supposed to be an actual Most Wanted game, but EA ruined it all. However, I've seen, that the modding community has done some of the Remaster-like mods inproving graphics, bringing a new car roster and all that. Download the game, the mods and boom! You got the remaster you're dreaming of.
From what ive found with playing all these games, simple is better. Carbon and Hot Pursuit 2 on the ps2 were such good games, because they were simple. Same with all of the Midnight Club games up to L.A. its simple. Guy race car, guy get money, guy modify car, repeat. And i love it.
I disagree with nfs payback story was mid but the driving was enjoyable, and actually a decent amount of cars I enjoyed the racing , the drifting , didn’t really enjoy drifting, the “micro transactions” were just cosmetic wise like tire smoke and horn sounds nothing like a pay to win transactions.
NFS Most Wanted 2005 will always be my favourite and hold a special place for me as it introduced me to the whole franchise and I got into cars because of it ❤
just watched the entire video, you're fkn hilarious and on point w your critiques. nfs hot pursuit 2010 being your #1 made me smash the subscribe button, violently. have you played the remaster? servers are back up, it gets pretty intense in the hot pursuit and most wanted lobbies
Need for Speed 2015 is by far my favorite NFS game. Besides underground. NFS 2015, yes had a cringe story like but I love the gameplay, I love the customizations, the cars, the night rides, the soundtrack & especially, online gaming. I’m always finding racers & challenges. The game does need a day light with Night honestly.
7:25 is this why my game doesn’t start? I bought it the other day and i can’t get past the title screen that says press start, I press every button and nothing works, same happened with the game driver San Francisco.
It's kinda funny how i don't mind a storyline base NFS game but most of the time I wanna race just like it used to be in the 00s like MW and Hot Pursuit 🤷🏿♂️
I grew up not necessarily being into the racing genre, I actually got into it recently with NFS 2015, I genuinely really enjoyed the game and made me start Heat as soon as I got the platinum trophy. So for me coming into the series without playing anything else I had a great time.
FRLLLL, I bought heat and it feels so much jankier than payback, the drifting and controlling is so much better in pb, yes the customizing isn't as good but it's simple and sweet, people say it takes so long to get stuff but they do it while not having fun, just turn on your music and race man, have fun with it
@@__sendmemes__7136 reasons Brake to drift Micro transactions No cops in free roam Tyler is the most boring protagonist ever Off-road Boring open world The list could go on
I think NfS Heat is perhaps the best game of them all for the following reasons: - Good amount of customization - In-depth suspension tuning by combining different tires, suspension and differential to tweak the feeling of each car. The drifting is great and penalizes speed just right to not make it completely unsuitable. I like the physics. - Actually thrilling and challenging cop chases with high stakes. - This is the most fun NfS in racing thanks to some awesome track design and the AI is aggressive, but it doesn't stress me out too much. - It feels dynamic with the traffic and online mode, but there is no nasty penalty for not winning races, so just do your best and have fun. But I will point out this game might be too deep for those looking for a more straightforward arcade racer like Hot Pursuit 2010. What does frustrate me is the weak game engine, mod reliance to fix crappy car performance (Mitsubishi Evo X) and I am no friend to the soundtrack at all, although I reused some tracks for my mixtape. Also why are dirt races in there, they are not great? And add some polishing issues and the game as a product is inferior to Forza Horizon, even though I had more fun with it and will stay for longer. Heat Remix mod sounds great to my ears.
Finally someone who values the MW2012 It is one of my favorite NFS and personally, I was not influenced by Burnout Paradise because I never played it, but I think it is an extremely fun NFS, with a fun driving like HP2010 And an impressive soundtrack. will always be in my heart My top 3 modern NFS would be: 1 - Need for Speed Most Wanted 2 - Need for Speed Heat 3 - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
I thought heat was better than unbound for sure. I felt like heat had more substance, it had more variety. More types of missions, events, etc. The police were much better and more engaging. The heat system was better because it actually gave a reward, the multiplier was an actual reason to deal with high heat. Also, I prefer choosing day/night rather than the forced cycle. The characters were less annoying imo, I mean the main characters voice and lines in unbound are insufferable sometimes. Online in unbound sucks, it was much better in heat. The effects are opinionated, I hated it in the trailer, but surprisingly I didn't mind it. Don't like the characters as much but as I said, opinion. Unbound did do some things better but they were small, I think heat did the big things better. Unbound was still fun 100% but heat was better
I'll always love most wanted, I used to play it every week in my spare time. Completed it more times than I can count and it never got old. I miss those times.
Glad to see that you didn't properly hate on The Run since it gets too much undeserved. The Run was clearly made to be like an action movie, and it succeeded. Glad you made the connection.
I like how someone is finally being open and honest about the storylines rather than coping and wearing rose tinted glasses and saying the old need for speeds were the best. Not by a longshot, the gameplay is what always mattered in this series the most.
For me, it’s only the following in this order: 1) NFS Porsche Unleashed 2) NFS II 3) NFS UG2 4) NFS Most Wanted 5) NFS HP2 I played the series up until NFS Carbon and then switched over to pure sim racing (ACC, RF2). I do occasionally play Forza Horizon 5 but for me the NFS series has lost its soul.
I was hoping i'd find NFS Unbound to be as good as the old Criterion games and a step above Ghost Games attempts and well, imo, it is. Great tier list btw as well, i'd have those same Top 3 most likely, except i'd put Hot Pursuit 2010 at 3rd and 1st/2nd is a toss up between Unbound and Most Wanted 2012, but i'd probably put Most Wanted 2012 in first place tbh. Not the biggest fan of the last 9 NFS Games though to be fair, and those 3 plus Heat, are probably the only decent ones of the last 9 imo.
They are soooo different and we have too different taste what we prefer. With that said I love Unbound the most, then Underground 2 and Heat. 2015 is good too. I hate NfS that dont give you are garage with owning your cars, or just copchases etc. Most wanted, Hot Pursuit and Rivals were awfully bad imho.
Probably mine too. Loved the varied locales, the overall theme. Great soundtrack and fun progression unlocking new cars through playlists. Just needed open world, like The Crew would do.
Let me just say this, your review of Rivals really rubbed me the wrong way. You ragged on the map (this map is considered one of the best in the franchise among NFS fans) you said it was forgettable (this is one of the most remembered, appreciated, and played NFS titles among fans) you literally didn’t say anything good about it. This is the most intense NFS game IN THE FRANCHISE. It has great pursuits, great intense racing (just trying to freaking stay alive is hard), cool features like convertible tops being able to actually work in game, the fixer upper parts you get from the gas stations, the differences in cars in between career modes, different terrains, all sorts of shit. Us NFS fans loved Rivals.
I will say, I do like the drift missions in Heat. The customization with the 4 different drive styles w every car is awesome and after spending 240 hours on it and customizing everything, all cars feel very different and some cars have incredibly deep customization
surprised to see you rank unbound high even above heat i feel too many fans want unbound dead and fanboy heat don't get me wrong heat is good but the cops are too hard imo im glad they toned them down in unbound also surprised you said postive things about most wanted 2012 i feel that gets overhated too from the 05 fanboys
Unbound didnt tone down the cops i beat the game on Normal diff, and got busted once on heat 5 driving a B class car soooo yeh they did more than tone down
MW 2012 and Payback are the best modern nfs games imo. I love mw 2012 because of the vibe and how fun the pursuit was even tho no visual customisation but i take it as burnout with cops so i like it. I like Payback because it fixed a lot wrong 2015 did, it fixed that trash handling and the game has animated cutscenes which fit with the gameplay rather than real life shot which barely make sense to gameplay like 2015, i like how each character has their own type of mission and i take this one like a gta 5 nfs edition
@@guccistyle1823 No lie, the story isn’t the greatest in Payback, but is still better than what we got from there on out. (Heat felt very short, and Unbound is a joke)
I literally had te most exciting experience with rivals because of the cause that it used to create, the long pursuits felt just amazing with the soundtrack and the chaos that came bye with it. Something i never had with the other need for speed (and i've played all of them). The others just felt boring.
I agree with you even i had the best fun with Rivals. The pace of that game is really good. The tech is really good and the difficulty curve is apt. For me it is the best need for speed game. Most Wanted 2012 is the second. and payback comes at the last of each and every game i have played in my life.
Nice list. Mine is quite a bid different than yours. I'd put 1. The run, 2. Hot Pursuit Remastered, 3, 2015,, 4. Payback, 5. Unbound, 6. Heat, 7. Rivals, 8. Most Wanted. Never played Shift 2. The Run was just so great. Loved driving across USA and seeing all the different areas. The things like the avalanche were just so awesome.
ty for this tier list man, i recently bought the steam xmas NFS bundle where we get all of them starting from Hot pursuit till unbound i didnt knwo which one to start with
I hate unbound so far because of how hard it is to beat the racers atleast now 5 hours into it i can barely make it to third place at best. I started getting into the series since nfs payback and i liked heat the most and least favorite was 2015 because it had a weird career mode and online only. The series has been just ok overall but has a bit too much flaws

@Youssef17 Unbound is just that bad. I was prisoner of the moment believing it was better than Heat. I beat Unbound and Unbound was good but what made it bad was the car classes which restricts you from using your favorite cars, the nitrous boost is like Burnout and very few races

Vibe and graphics arent everything
That's why most wanted and underground 2 are better
Anyone who puts Hot Pursuit (2010) and Most Wanted (2012) at the top for the modern NFS games is someone who actually values fun over whatever the current NFS fanbase wants. Great list.
Absolutely correct 💯
I like NFS 2015 the most and visually it looks absolutely stunning on ultra 4k60 settings. Just bought it on Steam sale for five bucks. Love it!
NFS 2015 is the closest we got to underground in modern era . Idk why people hated it
2015 is literally underground 3, and i love it till this day
NFS: Most Wanted will always hold a special place in my heart since it introduced me to the franchise.
Saaame bro i love the veyron till this day and its my all time favorite car and the game bro its simple and fast

Honestly 2015 was one of my favorites. The rain, the roads, the sound of the cars it was all amazing.
I really liked 2015 as well, but I j wanted to see the sun a lil bit😭
I will never understand the complaint about the game being always night-time, like everyone was begging for a new Underground game or spiritual successor; they gave us all-night and people still brought that up as one of the main reasons that the game was trash.
I have never played 2015, should I buy it? Played most wanted, underground, payback and currently playing heat.
@@amossando218absolutely not.
Hot Pursuit is the perfect arcade racer. It's just pure fun. So glad they "remastered" it for 60fps on consoles.

I hear you there but payback was just not a great game
@@austinsamoleski5710 I disagree it's a great game

yea pay back is my favourite
facts! love Payback.
Hey there, I'm also enjoyed the Payback one, especially impressed about open world experience and complete package of various existing modes.
Exact same thing with me. I had a skyline with the fast and furious decal maxed out and racing on the airfield was a really cool thing
Which is way surprised me about being so low. I loved payback as well, the class system was a little different but not in a bad way.

I know right?
Payback is a great and fun nfs, but saying that its better than heat is a stretch imo…
@@piettrosantos9348 i need to replay Heat someday maybe that'll change my mind

A total of 350,910,041 cash, and idc about lootboxes, everyone complains about the transaction, but you can EASILY get lootboxes for free, just do a like a mission and boom your done, I lived it so much, I bought the speedcross and multi-player, is amazing! So this is why I love nfs payback😄

Why do I love most wanted 2012
1. Sound tracks...they are just wow
2. Maps and track
3. Finding cars
4. That sense of beating rivals.
I just wanted to change my cars style, a story, pogression/consequences of being busted, and to remove that crash cam.
Rivals and Hot pursuit/ hot pursuit remastered are the best for me. They are just so fun and intense. The turbo sounds in the games give me goosebumps as well. These two games are the top two need for speeds I play now along with unbound.

I don’t know about you but I personally loved 2015, I bought it 4 years ago when I found it on sale in a bundle with gw2 and unravel and I just never played it until recently around the start of august, and I loved every aspect about it from the cars(which weren’t as many as heat or payback but they had a Supra) to the graphics and music and also the cutscenes, they were corny cheesy but good imo, and I loved the fact that they had ken block in there, that in its self was pretty dope.

I love mw 2012, I love how simple the game play was and how the soundtrack had a mix of rock and electronic music. I still have it on my ps3

2015 has the best atmosphere. I like the payback map and the daytime also the desert area looks pretty fine. Did not really like unbound they just added everything from heat and added some cars and effects. Map and anything else is really similar. Thought we would get much more….
Payback has nighttime too.
Disliked all 3 you mention but agree Hot Pursuit and Rivals had a lot of similarities. The cops/racers/gadgets/weapons is not my cup of tea.
We just want underground3/remaster they would probably be more successful with that
Well Command and Conquer remastered and Dead space remake did incredibly soo who knows EA will probably remake nfs underground
A remake would be better than a remaster
Never gonna happen
Not gonna happen due to BlackBox being a dead developer, and I doubt EA would let Criterion do a remaster. MW2012 was supposed to be an actual Most Wanted game, but EA ruined it all.
However, I've seen, that the modding community has done some of the Remaster-like mods inproving graphics, bringing a new car roster and all that. Download the game, the mods and boom! You got the remaster you're dreaming of.
remember what usually happens when EA makes a remaster?
the only change is that the cover art has "Remastered" on it

I gotta admit, that is so true at least someone understands.
right, that shit was so damn fun
I've been playing NFS since 1993. Hands down my fav NFS games. NFS High Stakes,NFS Underground 2,NFS Hot Pursuit 3
For me it’s

@@Zatob Noooo why
I like the list. Haven't played 2015, Rivals Shift 2 or MW2012 though
Side note: I like how you talk over the music in the background. Makes it more interesting. Respect
From what ive found with playing all these games, simple is better. Carbon and Hot Pursuit 2 on the ps2 were such good games, because they were simple. Same with all of the Midnight Club games up to L.A. its simple. Guy race car, guy get money, guy modify car, repeat. And i love it.
I disagree with nfs payback story was mid but the driving was enjoyable, and actually a decent amount of cars I enjoyed the racing , the drifting , didn’t really enjoy drifting, the “micro transactions” were just cosmetic wise like tire smoke and horn sounds nothing like a pay to win transactions.
so, I guess I'm the only one who actually likes the payback. I actually really enjoyed that game and he's soundtrack.
My top 3 nfs games.
1. Need for Speed 2015
2. Need for Speed Payback
3. Need for Speed Rivals
Idk, everybody hates NFS Payback while its my favorite NFS game
FRLLLL, I bought heat and it feels so much jankier than payback, the drifting and controlling is so much better in pb, yes the customizing isn't as good but it's simple and sweet, people say it takes so long to get stuff but they do it while not having fun, just turn on your music and race man, have fun with it
It’s the upgrade system
Edit: also not being able to use a car in multiple classes

I agree with you
I didn't play nfs series, what should I start between those: heat, payback, pursuit remastered, rivals, or nfs?
If you play Pursuit first, you’re not gonna like the rest as much 😂
I think NfS Heat is perhaps the best game of them all for the following reasons:
- Good amount of customization
- In-depth suspension tuning by combining different tires, suspension and differential to tweak the feeling of each car.
Nfs most wanted 2012 is one of my favourite game also , you are only one , I have seen praising this game , I completed this game 4 times😊
Most wanted so high up.. I reserve my judgement solely because you are using God tier music. The sonic track at the end 👌🏾
We may have different opinions on Most Wanted 2012 but we can all agree Sonic CD has hella good music
@@TotallyTubularJonathan Hue hue hue hue
Sorry but MW 2012 is not a good game it has so many bugs, no substance, it's a simple game for simple people
@@dariuspalmer2829 only bug i found is that my game cant run the most wanted animations at over 20 fps
Finally someone who values the MW2012
It is one of my favorite NFS and personally, I was not influenced by Burnout Paradise because I never played it, but I think it is an extremely fun NFS, with a fun driving like HP2010 And an impressive soundtrack. will always be in my heart
My top 3 modern NFS would be:
1 - Need for Speed Most Wanted
2 - Need for Speed Heat
3 - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit
Agreed unbound was so bad compared to heat imo
I'll always love most wanted, I used to play it every week in my spare time. Completed it more times than I can count and it never got old. I miss those times.
Man I'm glad you think Hot Pursuit is as good I think! Absolutely love the Remastered one they released in 2020. Man it's so beautiful
Nfs unbound is proper underrated I think you putting it in top 3 is quite a good place to put it at
Unbound is meh.
In the run there are some cars that have body customization for example the GTR has 3 bodykits
True but I think these are DLC's, like there is Eddie's Skyline, Cross' corvette, BMW M3 GTS (with M3 from MW Paintjob, etc).
I have a PS5 and it`s been years since I played a racing game , which one is the best for PS5 as gameplay and graphics and handling ?
GT7
For me, it’s only the following in this order:
1) NFS Porsche Unleashed
2) NFS II
3) NFS UG2
4) NFS Most Wanted
5) NFS HP2
I played the series up until NFS Carbon and then switched over to pure sim racing (ACC, RF2).

Nfs the run will always be my fav nfs game
Probably mine too. Loved the varied locales, the overall theme. Great soundtrack and fun progression unlocking new cars through playlists. Just needed open world, like The Crew would do.
@@djb2843 yeah i loved the difficulty as well but i feel it would have hindered from a open world tbh
The RUN was the best game besides HoT pursuit and MOSTWANTED
The run is basically my guilty pleasure
I will say, I do like the drift missions in Heat. The customization with the 4 different drive styles w every car is awesome and after spending 240 hours on it and customizing everything, all cars feel very different and some cars have incredibly deep customization
surprised to see you rank unbound high even above heat i feel too many fans want unbound dead and fanboy heat don't get me wrong heat is good but the cops are too hard imo im glad they toned them down in unbound also surprised you said postive things about most wanted 2012 i feel that gets overhated too from the 05 fanboys
Skill Issue lol.
Heat is alright it just lacking updates that what killed it
Unbound didnt tone down the cops
i beat the game on Normal diff, and got busted once on heat 5 driving a B class car soooo yeh they did more than tone down
i loved NFS 2015 the most. that game had so much identity and you can tell they tried to bring back the underground days. i appreciate effort
I've only played heat of these but i really liked it. Reminded me about u2 and carbon times (haven't played anything in between)
World of Unbound feels more alive to me compared to dead bland world of Heat.
MW 2012 and Payback are the best modern nfs games imo.
I love mw 2012 because of the vibe and how fun the pursuit was even tho no visual customisation but i take it as burnout with cops so i like it.
I like Payback because it fixed a lot wrong 2015 did, it fixed that trash handling and the game has animated cutscenes which fit with the gameplay rather than real life shot which barely make sense to gameplay like 2015, i like how each character has their own type of mission and i take this one like a gta 5 nfs edition
yo same i think payback is a good game i really like the map
Ngl nfs payback maybe down there but it's not shit tho yea it's like a fast and furious ripoff but it's fun if you can make it but the story is cringy
@@guccistyle1823 No lie, the story isn’t the greatest in Payback, but is still better than what we got from there on out. (Heat felt very short, and Unbound is a joke)
Heat should get a 60 fps patch
I literally had te most exciting experience with rivals because of the cause that it used to create, the long pursuits felt just amazing with the soundtrack and the chaos that came bye with it. Something i never had with the other need for speed (and i've played all of them). The others just felt boring.
I agree with you even i had the best fun with Rivals. The pace of that game is really good. The tech is really good and the difficulty curve is apt. For me it is the best need for speed game. Most Wanted 2012 is the second. and payback comes at the last of each and every game i have played in my life.
Tbh I think need for speed most wanted 2012 should be 1.Ive played both hot pursuit and most wanted I prefer most wanted
Nfs mw 2012 is my childhood my top 3 is still mw 2012, hot pursuit and Rivals
Hi. Thx for this vid. Is there a NFS that is rated "E"?
Youre just bad then no need to complain its fine if ur not good just get better
@@youssef1770 No actually its like that for many players, not that im bad at it, it’s just the AI is faster than you until you get some really good cars
@Youssef17 Unbound is just that bad. I was prisoner of the moment believing it was better than Heat. I beat Unbound and Unbound was good but what made it bad was the car classes which restricts you from using your favorite cars, the nitrous boost is like Burnout and very few races
@@solidwisdom8749 you can't even beat it on relax? Skill issue lol
