Yamaha ATV Grizzly 700 On Tracks Dashing Through The Snow Into Cubbee Falls - Mar.17 2013

  • First Grizzly track ride away from home. We loaded up the big Grizz and headed out to Cubbee Falls. Pretty cool day, about -10c but not too bad.
    Lots and lots of snow on the way in. We didn't get stuck but we did have to back up a few times in the hills. Those tracks are awesome!
    Found out when we were at the falls, that my external mic was only plugged into the gopro part of the way. Way to go Cubbee! The gopro did continue to record sound though but it had the closed back on and you just couldn't make out my voice. As a result, I spent the day yesterday, wearing my helmet at the computer doing voice overs for the first half of the video!! Doesn't sound the best, but at least I was able to still use the video. Going to really try hard not to do that again.

    Really need to use your dif-lock always when using the tracks. The tracks don't free wheel as easily as tires do therefore if both front tracks aren't under power then one of them is just like dragging a log on the front of your wheeler. Great video as always. Thanks.

    I have these exact same tracks on my 2021 700 Grizzly. I have to say they are worth every penny. $5000 for the set.
    Only downfalls to them is, they do not perform well in slush at all and steering is far more difficult.
    Still worth it though.
    Thanks for sharing.

    After seeing how well you went in the snow I ordered a set of tracks for my CFMOTO Snyper 800 today. It has a very similar 4x4 system to the grizzly with 2 wheel, 2wheel and diff lock, so the tracks may be perfect for trapline adventures. Thanks for posting great videos!

    Another awesome video you guys! Our snow season is coming to an end, the trails are getting slushy and lots of dirt/mud parts, won't be too long that it'll be mud bog season here, so time to clean up the Grizz and do some routine maintenance on her. Might get her a new set of shoes - thinking Bighorns as I don't care for mud, otherwise I'd go Zillas for sure. Thake care.

    Excellent video! I'm anxious to ride my Tatous this winter!!! Just make sure you check the bolts in the axles of the tracks... Had some problems this evening, coming back from a bear hunt... One of the bolts went loose, and the track popped out... I had to come back home, to pick up a jack and some tools, but now everything is reinstalled... Make sure you bring a set of tools in case a track popps out...

    Thanks for the video! I was thinking of buying a Kodiak 450 EPS SE until I decided I would like to have tracks for winter. We are in Okanagan, Kelowna BC. Lots of elevation changes. Valley bottom 1000 feet, 4000 feet is elevation of a bunch of the lakes. Definitely need the 700 for snow.
    How are you strapping down your quad? I have heard the best way is to strap wheels down with the locking channel on bottom of trailer. Pulling down on your quad can be hard on suspension.
    We always did that with our dirt bikes, and not too much trouble. Just wondering what you do.

    • @cubbeezx

    I've noticed that the video camera does not do justice to the snow depths in my experience, was trying to demonstrate the day I got caught in the slush and it simply did not do it justice. This is a crazy year for snow accumulation. Tough with a passenger too as it defeats the flotation. Tracks for your wife next year!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      More cc's can't hurt! Probably depends on what type of snow you have too. Our snow is very dry and sugary so you can't really stay up on top of it so more power get's you through the deep stuff!

    I really love my tracks, but still learning to use them... Takes 20 minutes to reinstall the track on the carriage, but still I did it without going to the dealer... Also, I usually bring a set of snow shoes, just in case the ATV breaks down...

  • @GunnyE9
    @GunnyE9 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good track'in video Cubbee & CK. It would be much different if you were rid'in single and if this didn't make CK wants tracks, well ... You need to do the diff lock over ride mod - if there is one for the 700 - cause the tracks make your speedo read twice as fast as you’re really going. The diff lock can really help on those steep hills but sometimes you need the speed too. SO do a diff lock mod OR get one of those SpeedoHealers I was telling you about. And Sugar snow SUCKS !! Eh !!

    Great video, have you ever thought about a side by side, I like mine better than the 4 wheeler it's easier on my back, plus you get to talk with your passenger easier. A desiel would be great for all those long trails you do

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Russ! Some of our trails are pretty narrow so not sure how good a side by side would take them....lots of UTV's around though. We use a SENA bluetooth communicator to talk back and forth when we are out riding ... so that works out nice too. Diesel would come in handy when riding for a long time..so far though we haven't had to take extra gas. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! We use RAM Mounts...they make them specifically for your GPS which means they fit great and are tough! If you go to RAM Mounts page/site they have a "finder"...just plug in your type of GPS and it will give you the right cradle. We use a ball mount fixed to the handlebars with an arm and then the cradle. Works great. Hope this helps!

    Maybe when going up hills you should try going up at an angle. Might make it easier to climb. :)

    The paddles on your tracks are real short compared to the tracks I see people run around here... and people around here usually have the throttle open alot more lol

    Hey Cubbee. Love your videos! Just had a question on where you got your rear rack bag and where you got your rim and tire kit. I just bought a 2013 grizzly this past Friday!

    Nice Video!
    Love the tracks, they make the Grizz look like a real monster!
    I have a couple of Quick questions, what sprocket gear do you have on the tracks? 18 tooth?
    How heavy is each track?

    • @cubbeezx
      @cubbeezx  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      THanks, glad you enjoyed the video! The tracks came off a Can Am 1000 and the Girzzly uses the same sprocket....counted the teeth in a picture and yes they are 18 tooth. Not sure how heavy they are. It might say on the Tatou website.

      Thanks, The Tatou website says each track is 71 pounds, Does that sound close to being right to you?
