Hey friends! I hope you enjoy this adventure. I've set a personal goal for this channel to reach 1,000,000 subscribers by the end of 2025. Why 1 million? All the goals I've set so far for this channel we've blown right past with ease. Just like when I'm out on my adventures, I want to challenge myself. I want to make THE BEST off-road content on TH-cam. If I can hit this goal, I'll know I'm really doing it. If you feel like I am, hit the like on this video and smash the subscribe button to help me on my road to a million! I love you guys.
Please lose the music. Would really love to just hear the natural sounds of the mountains, the wind, the machines. Your channel is interesting but the music to me is just noise that distracts and does not encourage me to subscribe.
The Iron Maiden in the end just made the video. I know you will likely get demonetized but it was worth it. This is the best off roading channel on TH-cam. Thank you so much.

Nobody else is doing it like this. These guys are here for the love of the game and there are so few like that anymore. By the way I have no idea who they are. Just my humble opinion lol
This is one of the best TH-cam channels I subscribed long time ago. And I presented the channel to my friends. I have learned so much from you guys about off roading and overlanding. Happy New Year and great new adventures! Perhaps go down to Argentina and Patagonia with your rigs. These rigs must be capable of conquering the harsh Patagonia landscape.

It’s something about your videos that get me hooked to the tv. I can’t really point it out😃 I think it is the outstanding quality and all the drone footage. The light around the cars at night and the atmosphere. The blend between engine sound and music are excellent. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon have always been my dream car and drive it off road. I’m never going to own one and never going to do off roading but I love to watch it. I stumbled upon your channel a couple of months ago and subscribed. It’s like therapy to watch it🙏 About the tracks, and would love to see a comparison between tracks and wheels in deep snow to show the difference between them. It doesn’t really show in the two videos you posted. / greetings from Sweden. ( hope you understand my poor English 🙈)
Awesome video as always Shaun. The trail destroyer is such a awesome peace of machinery and with the tracks it's on a whole nother level of awesomeness. The fresh powder on the trail is so epic can't wait for the next adventure.
I am loving the tracks on the Jeep, it is a bucket list of mine to put tracks on my TJ, I keep thinking about building a set to incorporate some design changes that I think would work. I have Camso tracks on my 2013 CanAm outlander max and they are a blast. A couple things I have learned is that the front tracks on the bottom curve up slightly which helps going over things like the ice ledge. I have also found that I have got horribly stuck when I need to back up to get out of a bad sitiuation due to the tracks being flat on the rear edge, the tracks tend to dig in instead of floating. Another thing I have learned is try to avoid driving over downed trees, I have had the front tracks climb over the tree and then the rear track trys to go under it and then try to back up and front tracks will go under and the only solution is to cut the tree out or winch it out of the way.
Happy new year buddy!! It would be nice to get some real snow around the province!! Whipsaw's looking good! Don't let all the negative nancy's get to you about the tracks. New things take time to work out the bugs, and i'm excited to see more with them, and to get out with you with them!!
Wow😮. You guys really have a lot of snow already!!! Very interesting to watch how your tracks just break a path for the others. They are back there spinning while you just plow. Over here in Michigan our first storm is coming this next week. Happiest new year and still looking for a trip with your family!!😊
Thanks for sharing again, man! I'm glad the learning curve from the tracks is getting figured out. Those things are awesome! Awesome scenery. These videos really make me want to get out there. Thank you again sir!
I remember when my tracked vehicle manufacturing friend changed to an aluminum cab. The weight distribution changed and tended to nose-in in deep snow. The dynamics seem to be different having 4 tracks instead of 2. I wonder sometimes how a half-track would do.
There has to be better track setups for trucks or no? Seemed awful short on lugs and slipping shouldn’t happen much but idk. Awesome videos and looks like a lot of fun
I’ve seen several tracked vehicles that have a SKI type apparatus in the front that aids in keeping the front tracks above the terrain. It appears to bolt to the bogie wheels.
I’ve been pondering this for several hours…here’s the idea: 1) Old Snowboard - cut off the front and back 18 inches. 2) Fabricate some brackets to attach the snowboard tips to the front set of tracks at about a 30 degree angle. 3) Brackets will have to be wider to accommodate the 15 inch tracks but narrow down to bolt to the snowboard tips. Now you have something to “float” on top of the snow and guide the tracks up and over. Your thoughts???
Happy New Year to you and your" Fam " Shawn !!! And May 2024 be an Even BETTER year for you !!!! LETS GO 1 MILLION !!!! MUCH love to ya From a Massive Fan ...🤘🤘 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any plans on getting all the guys together, would love to see all of you do a actual movie together. That's probably a big ask, but he'll why not ask, right? Lol. As always, great content and the tracks did alot better this time. Thanks to Denny, Bruce and Braun as well.
Thanks for watching! Clint lives 10 hours away so it's a bit harder to get together. Especially in winter when the mountain passes are more sketchy to drive.
Still the best channel on TH-cam! Love the scenery and locations! Not a huge fan of the tracks or having to trailer the rig to the trail but it won’t stop me from watching. Just kind of takes away from snow “wheelin” but I’m sure it’s a hell of a lot of fun! What are your plans when there’s less snow, will you run the Bronco more, swap back to wheels or get a separate rig? Whichever way you go it’ll be fun to watch. Keep livin the dream brother!
Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to you Shaun, and your family. Wishing all the best to you into this 2024! We have been getting one chinook after another in the Calgary area. Getting ready to do some ice climbing in mid February. Adventure on!
What a great adventure Sean! I believe this is one of the best TH-cam channels I am subscribed to. Your drone work is stellar. Wishing you and your buddies a Happy New Year!
Silly question I suppose as someone who doesn't have an off road rig currently. Do you think some sort of heated leaf-blower might be helpful in getting some of that frozen snow out of your tracks?
Another great video. I love the never quit attitude and that you show the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to testing new products and modifications. One question, ever have trouble with the blades on the drone icing up when flying it in a snow storm?
I feel like 40's are better than tracks at this point. These things seem to just be a headache. They work great when they actually work but reliability is an issue for sure.
@@mzurbuch they froze because we drove through a creek, when packed with snow and it was below freezing out. Easy to avoid this or just clear then snow out right away after going through water by going fast for a bit. The wheels breaking is to be expected, as they have no suspension at all. The tracks aren’t meant to be driven on hard surfaces. You’ll notice we didn’t break any wheels on this trip because the snow was deep enough. Even if a wheel breaks, it takes 2 mins to swap it for a spare. Neither of these things are a reliability problem, they are just things to be aware of. As I mentioned in the video, we tested if the jeeps on 40s could break trail and as soon as there was any uphill, I had to go around and pave a trail for them. The tracks also allow me to move much faster than if I was on tires trying to break trail. They have a huge advantage over tires in most snow situations.
@@TheStoryTillNow For sure not going to argue they have an advantage over tires in deep powder. All I'm trying to say is it's more moving parts that's all. You also can clearly see you have a ground clearance advantage with them compared to your friends which definitely helps.
It was really cool to watch this right after the guys from Venture2Roam and Dirt Lifestyle were at the exact same spot in similar conditions. The tracks were definitely a game changer.
Shawn, greetings from Montreal. Thanks for another awesome winter adventure. Btw loved hearing the Maiden at the end of the video!! More metal if you can 🤘
Tracks look good on flat fields. But 43" tsl sx aired way down you could have fun and spin climb "wheel" lol. Thanks for making me reconsider these for a Sxs
It seems most of your issues are the tracks themselves, their design for the driver wheels and the approach angles. Obviously tracks have their advantages over tires but they are definitely more delicate at the same time. Checking tension, cleaning them out, having to fix them in the bush on the trail to even get out. It still just seems they are more trouble than they are worth, and the obvious disadvantage of having to trailer your rig everywhere now. With time and getting the feel of what you can and can’t do will mitigate the negatives for sure, maybe even being able to get with a fabricator and building some tracks of your own that don’t have the inherent issues these have. Namely the approach angle on the leading edge and the slipping of the drive wheels.
Tracks are on another planet from tires…. Look at what happens when you turn a dirt bike into a snow bike! Crazy difference! Tracks can be more maintenance yes. But in deep snow they float like nothing else. The only thing better than your setup is like a Hagglund or a snow cat. Nice job!👍
one of the advantage the tracks give is the height, if one of the other vehicles is lifted so they don't bottom out on the snow, it would make a good comparison between the two.
Nice trip!!! The difference between tracks and tires is epic. I wish more folks could try them to understand that they don't even compare. I do think some of these auto track manufacturers need to take some design lessons from Camso so they could correct their geometry (nose up), rubber idlers, and build a better anti-rotation system. Mattracks is starting to build some cool stuff, but in practice they still don't seem as functional as Camso. Keep these videos coming!!! BTW, there are a couple good TH-cam videos (albeit old) put on by Camso that give useful tips for situations like your creek crossing and just general track best practices. Always carry some bridging boards to keep from binding on undercuts.
Thumbs up for the sound the Hemi makes when you roll into it. 👍 You know, you would have taken the creek easily if you would've aired the tracks down some.... lol Great vid Shaun.
Snowmobile tracks ice up in similar slushy conditions. Dewalt makes a battery operated heat gun. I wonder if using one of those would work to help melt the ice enough to clean it out of the tracks?
