There is a lot more nuance to be prepared than whoever plays it first is behind. If I’m planning to be prepared in two or three turns, I may play things that will still have board presence after I be prepared or will provide value from the be prepared. I will make sure they are losing more characters and/or character value. In that scenario playing Be Prepared first puts you ahead as they lost more resources than you did.
I think I'm going with Amber Steel for set champs. It's the deck I love playing most and played almost exclusively during Floodborn meta and have done so far in Inklands. I know my rough matchups and what to expect and feel comfortable going into those games. I think my advice to players would be play the deck you've loved playing and are most comfortable with rather than trying to go for something that's been doing well but you haven't practiced with for more than a month at least.
I had been running an Emerald Ruby discard that was working very well until recently so I've switched to Steel Song. Do you have any basic tips on approaches with that deck?
With your Amethyst Ruby setup I think some of the better cards you need in there to compete are lady Tremaine and madame Medusa, yes they are uninkable but you can bounce them to play them multiple times potentially.
I've also been trying out Yzmas -- sometimes it also offers you valuable card draw while giving you a high quest presence if you remove one of your own. Plus, she's inkable!
Loved the round up, really informative! Would love to hear your take on a Jafar deck at some point! Know it's not the most meta but would love to see how you play with it!
I think I prefer to add Judy Hops into RS decks to handle mirrors and other Sapphire decks ramp or amethyst books but overall very similar to what I run on mine
I haven't had a chance to play an updated Emerald Amethyst deck, nor have I played against one that I felt was strong. Doesn't mean it's not a good deck, I just don't know what it would look like. At the end of the day it really does come down to what cards do you have, are you willing to spend the money for what you need, and most importantly are you well practiced with the deck, because you can have the best deck but totally suck at playing it haha
Good luck on Stitch championships. I live 2 states away and apparently no one in my whole flipping state got (or neglected to apply for) those promos. I’m so mad I can’t even try to win them.
@@2pocketdeuces MT, I’ve checked all the OP registered stores within the state and I’ve yet to find one who’s advertised to even talked about the promo. There is 1 local store that applied but I guess never heard back, they say they been applying to be registered for Lorcana for months but don’t get anywhere
It's not nearly as good, but swapping little Robin for 2 cost Hercules then running Hercules divine hero. Still looking for that early shift and Herc will trade for removal or several characters
I'm heading into champion with steel song and despite how many people told me not to play rise of the titans I run 1 just to get advantage from a mcduck manor or a queen's castle
What’s your strategy playing ruby/amethyst when you’re running up against ruby/sapphire? Been struggling to win the race before they drop the dime or tomatoa
You have to play more aggressively for lore in that match up to out pace a dime, so by the time they get it you be in a position to close the game quickly. It's tough, but since there's no item removal in either color your only option is to race against it, which can be challenging as this deck wants to gain incremental value over several turns
@@WintersLorcana that's definitely what I've been struggling with so am throwing a spellbook and evasive minnies for earlier lead gen, although that doesn't help with any steel decks. Tough to make the call on what to favor. Thank for your advice. Love your videos!
Discard doesn't win games, so we're leaning more into Ursula to take out important removal, and bucky is just incidental value. I've played many, many games against discard heavy strats, and I win almost all those games by inking and playing my whole hand. Because half their deck doesn't work against an empty hand
I don't, it's largely personal preference as there's really no great alternatives to the cards most people need replacements for.. that's why those cards are so expensive, because they're so good
I'm having a hard time with deciding on my Emerald /steel with discard. The issue is AWNW. I'm discarding but then adding cards to my opponent. That's my dilemma.
I could play either RA control, SS wheel or RS control... Knowing that my local opponents are running for sure: AS songs, ES discard, RA control, AA hyper aggro and EA aggro discard... What in the hell should I take? I'm so not sure😂 please help!
well, multiple aggro lists puts me off of ruby sapphire as it can be slow to clear the board, and you need to be fast against them, they can just run away from you. Sapphire Steel handles aggro probably the best among those three options, but an amber steel or ruby amethyst that you let get you into the late game will have the better odds, so that's not great. So based on what you expect to be there, I'd probably run ruby amethyst, be careful against discard though, the bounce strat can fail when you focus to much on bouncing, just play out your hand and discard basically becomes the weakest deck out there.
Me personally? No. It's just not THAT good. It's surprised the meta and took a lead with that, but now that so many people are aware of it, it won't hold, imo.

First! Great work, Winter!
Second! This is exactly the roundup I was hoping for, minus the fact that my emerald amethyst deck is absent. Oh boy.

Any advice on replacing the shift Robin Hood? Mainly for Steelsong. I only have 1 irl and don’t want to spend many monies to get a playset 😅

Honestly I think this is the right decision as a 1 of. My local meta plays a ton of locations; all I'll say is disrespect locations at your own peril.

In the emerald steel deck what is the upside to running less discard like cursed merfolk Flynn rider prince john and sudden chill packages?

Yeah, you can't play awnw and be focused on discard, that will never work lol
Can work if you're playing John
If you opponent is discarding say 4 cards you're now drawing 11 ,cards rather than 7 from a AWNW
@@Jordanstonegames the John combo is great, but there's no real payoff for drawing so many cards, once we have that though, oh boy!
