Won my local stitch yesterday with blue steel, was the only player there with the deck against a lot of different control decks and discard but came out on top!
Hello, I always look forward to your new videos! The visual and content quality is consistently top-notch! If I may, I'd like to ask you a couple of questions: - With that Dime Control list, how do you fare against emerald/amethyst? - Isn't just one Gaston a bit too little? Especially in the mirror match and against ruby/amethyst, it seems important. Thank you, and keep up the great work! I always eagerly anticipate your new videos
Emerald Amethyst can be tough if they have a very aggressive list or splash in some Discard. The midrange/tempo lists are fairly easy as they usually can't out-pace your plan. Either way, try to ramp hard and get removal in hand. 1 Gaston is okay, but most players are dropping him altogether in favor of How Far I'll Go, and I'm really liking that myself.
Keep running it! Full speed ahead with evasives! It can definitely catch people off guard and take some wins. If it gets some card draw in Set 4 it'll be really strong.
Blurple got me a top 4 finish at one of my tournaments this weekend! I really think that Cogsworth helps with certain steel matchups, as adding that resist is just a huge factor when going wide. I did end up running 62 in my list, but it worked out!
I want to bring Blurple but don’t have Cogsworth, so I’m hoping I can win at least a game or two despite that fact. Was your list like the one in the video?
You got a deck list for the Blurple? I got 2nd at my locals yesterday running R/A, and want to try something different this weekend, been tooling around with a build myself but would love to see another winners. :D
I actually won my Store Champs with an Amber/Steel Mufasa deck. No one expects it, and ive been brewing it up for the past month. I just love Mufasa lol
Have my store championship on Saturday and am both extremely excited and extremely nervous. I never do larger tournaments like this for any of the games I play mainly because I don't run meta decks an don't want to spend so much money on singles, so this is my first real major tournament. I love my local scene though, minus literally 1 person, and am beyond happy to see if grow enough to have sold out the registration for the tourney the night it was announced. As for me, I'm going to try running a budget Amethyst/Steel bounce list but incorporating 2 Genie Supportive Friend in place of 2 Merlin Rabbits. In my testing, the extra card draw from Genie felt pretty good but will be able to test it in person tomorrow at locals. I appreciate this video for showing off the other decks knowing even though I'm pretty sure not many people will be running them in my area haha Trying to manifest that top 4 though so here's hoping!
That sounds like a great list to run! It sounds like you already have a fun time at locals, so hopefully this is no different and you can shake the nerves immediately. Go have fun!
Love to see some Blurple. I’ve been working on a less-optimized version running Odie and Shift Tala for some hyper ramp stupidity and even that has been doing well for me so far. I may take a version of this to the set champs on Sunday just to have fun with it, I’m not expecting to place or anything based solely on my own skill/anxiety levels lol.
I love that! I was messing around with Shift Tala in purple too. There's actually so many cards I want in that list that it's hard to cut down to 60. Good luck on your event! Having fun is the best plan :D
@@aligibson5710 I have a more aggro-ey/tempo based list similar to his as well, I may end up bringing that one to set championships because it’s probably more all-around solid than going all in on the ramp with Odie and Tala. That combo is just so stupid and fun when it pops off and you have upwards of 20 ink though.
Nice meeting you this past weekend Stead! Was able to get a stitch at Spellhold with Mufasa but I might switch up some cards still. Good point with Wendy vs Sleepy.
Been playing the amethyst steel midrange list with some changes to facilitate the jafar combo in it, I like that it shores up the ruby control decks better because it presents a faster threat if you can shift and sing whole new world
Started Lorcana recently. First Event yesterday. Played Brooms. Was fun but the deck needs some additional work. The Amber/Steel Deck with the songs rly sounds like a ton of fun. Propably will give that a try :)
Had my stores championship yesterday. Played my Redfasa deck (use 1 drop Plutos with Hydra) and went 3-1-2 but missed the cut. Finished 12th out of 40. Needed to win the last match to move on but we ended in a draw and neither one of us made it. Winning these things takes a lot of luck (drawing the right cards at the right time), match-ups, deck, and skill of the player. I love your videos because they make me a better player! It was my first TCG tournament and it won’t be my last!
Similar scenario, needing a win to get to t8 entering it as x-1-1, but ran into a fucking nightmare matchup in the last round against a hyper aggro amber/amethyst that apparently enough steel decks didn’t beat into the ground against my pawpsicles and lost. They didn’t make top cut at least, really was a prick also thinking they had t8 in the bag.
I went off meta for my first store championship. Ran a amber/emerald aggro deck with 99 puppies. Made top 8 but lost in first round of top 8 and missed out on a stitch. Have 3 more tournaments this weekend. Going to run emerald/amethyst in the first one i think since ive been killing it on pixelborn with it.
Finished right outside top 8 in my 32 person store championships with almost the same E/A tempo deck you showed. I didn’t run Genies as I prefer to run a little more early game cards and draw power. Started 0-1, losing to Amber Steel song (almost an auto L), then clutched a game 3 on the draw against hyper aggro, then won 2 straight matches 2-0 over Ruby Sapphire and Ruby Amber mufasa. Unfortunately, the opponents I played earlier didn’t do as well, so I had to play my round 5 instead of IDing into top 8 like the rest of the 3-1ers. Won game 1, lost game 2 19-20 because of a top deck Medusa from my opponent and I couldn’t draw a goat, then had horrid draws game 3. Overall, love the deck. Think it’s very fun and feels good when it works!
I agree, it's such a fun deck to play! And running earlier cards as you mentioned is probably better right now against the control decks. Thanks for commenting!
Store Championship is so hart. Was yesterday and today on an each 30+ people tournament. Going Top 8. Kicked out in the first Round of Top Cut and going home with nothing. Feels so bad 😅 AT least when you hear that so many stores do fake tournaments with 4 real players and 4 fakes 😢
I haven't found much need for a 6-cost like that, but I did used to play Eudora vs Steel so it's a similar situation. For a 6-cost though, I'd probably just run Mickey Friendly Face.
@@ssteadfast yeah very similar to eudora. I like that he can handle medusa and maui as well as take a beating from steel. Good luck with the rest of your championships, hope your running some redfassa!
2nd place in a 31 man with amber steel. Top eight second seed in second tournament and lost to bad matchup…. 2-1 to Ruby Sapphire. On the draw and decked him out second game. 3rd game i had control bare necessities his be prepared, two turns later he top decked another. hit me with a third when i gained control once again and that was game….
Can you comment on Emerald Ammy and the mufasa matchup? I have a lot of opponents who are faster than me but generally don't turn much sideways without also bouncing it away. I find this as a hard matchup.
Frier Tuck has been growing on me in discard. It's possibly one of the only few cards in the game where it's good on the draw as it is on the play, if not, maybe better, and this deck is really tempo focused so having a high lore quester help equalize the playing field by punishing the opponent in a way for going 1st is good. Most decks in the game don't have that kind of privilege.
Yeah I think he beats out both Daisy and Donald, but I'm always afraid I'll get into a situation where he will make ME discard from my hand. In other words, he's band when your Discard plan actually works haha
Where the Amber/Amethyst at? I just won my first set champ with hyper aggro. Did manage to dodge all the steel decks. Most everyone was playing pawpsicle.
Made top 8 at both my tournaments this weekend with R/S control. Lost to E/A 2-0 and lost to red fasa 2-1 both on the draw. Got two more this weekend so we will see what happens
Against Ruby Amethyst, it's a card advantage battle. If they go very aggressive and keep up in card draw, they can win before your Dime combos hit. Don't be afraid to use Medusa to take out Rabbits before they can bounce. Against Green Amethyst, hyper ramp with OJA > HFIGo or Quill up to your removal. I know that's obvious, but it's how it goes. Good luck!
@@ssteadfast Thanks for your responce. I feel like I have no chance when i am on the draw. At my locals there is also a Yellow/ Purple deck and I also 0-2 to it.
Blue steel is best steel deck ? Played against blue steel twice in my championship yesterday, won both with steel song. Shame about all the people taking intentional draws in last round, might have squeezed into top 8 otherwise, maybe.
@@ssteadfast I agree for the full Jafar combo decks, but a floodborn midrange with Jafar works a lot better IMO. Good matchups overall, except for Sapphire decks.

Literally was me since set 1 till ruby sapphire finally became a solid deck don't worry I'm sure emerald ruby will hit soon enough
You do you! Remember the more meta decks there the more they are actually NOT meta :P Especially when every new Lorcana video is a NEW META DECK!!!!!
Deck is pretty good when you get them cards on curve . You won’t be timing out either lol
@@ssteadfast It's more of a discard control. the biggest issue is i need to hit my card draw and that can be tough with these two inks
