I moved to Ferrara 5 years ago from Los Angeles. It’s perfect for seniors, great healthcare, and very walkable. I also bike everywhere.

I wonder how the international school is in Ferrara? I'm between Ferrara and Parma right now. Any preference between the two?

Hi we looked at Smiling international it looked a good school the options and facilities were good and the kids appeared happy. They teach along the Italian curriculum as I understand and along with Italian they also have Chinese mandarin which is also compulsory to learn. I don’t know of any other in the area.

@@Shontishar Thanks for replying. When we travel to Italy next we will be sure to visit the school. Did you learn about the tuition while you visited?

@@JC-ud7fv yes, they were very informative and more than helpful to answer questions. Their school cook is also a winner of a big masterchef type competition but after having her own kids decided on a quieter pace, and became the school head chef. They recently also were the first school in Italy to be part of the Moonshot program a unique STEM program as well.
Between Ferrara and Parma there are a few international schools.

@@Shontishar Those are all great details. Sounds like you learned quite a bit about the school and at least they are eating well. Are you planning to have your kids attend a international school in Italy soon?

@@JC-ud7fv i am but purely on the language basis, if my son was a1 Italian I would consider a public education, as they’re supposed to be very good. We plan to move this summer, Ferrara would be our nearest for International English School but also considering neighbouring cities schools too.

    What about the healthcare?

In Emilia Romagna, the health care system is, with Veneto and Lombardy, the best in Italy and among the best in Europe.
