If they are already on a high dose of a different adhd medication then that’s why they are prescribed at 40 mg or higher. Also probably because you have bpd which is an over abundance of dopamine and adhd is like a lack of dopamine so higher dose of adhd medication would increase your bpd traits

@@giap.1586 Oh okay. I learned something today. Also, I know what you mean with the anti depressants. Let's just say my nickname was Lake Flaccid for a while. That's an unfortunate side effect of many SSRIs and SNRIs.
For me being on Straterra 80mg a while, I'd say these are most frequent side effects for ne, in order of most-to-least bothersome to my life : constipation, nausea, headache, decreased libido (not just men, you jerk), decreased appetite (completely stopped adhd eating habits like binge eating). When I stopped cold turkey, I expected NO side effects as I was told but i had a massive headache for two days accompanied with a full day of vertigo and messed with my mood but it's definitely mild considering it's not addictive. It worked but was about 30-50% effective which sometimes wasn't worth it for the side effects, especially constipation/nausea.

I didn't like it, the worst of all symptoms was the lower abdominal pain and even genital pain, waking up shouting, jumping out of bed. The mood was very artificial feeling, like a controlled low, it didn't even supress my impulsivity. The only good side effect was the decongestant effect.

I started this a week ago and haven't noticed any of this. I have been on Lexapro for a year and my doc said to stay on it while starting Straterra. I don't have any of these symptoms which is great but the whole point of my starting my ADHD treatment was because of my chronic fatigue I deal with and that has yet to improve. In fact, since starting this I have had to take a nap mid day two days this week and I NEVER nap, even with chronic fatigue I manage to stay awake and not take naps. If this doesn't improve in the next few weeks, I will be switching to a stimulant because I can't deal with the fatigue anymore, not with working two jobs that require focus!

If they are already on a high dose of a different adhd medication then that’s why they are prescribed at 40 mg or higher. Also probably because you have bpd which is an over abundance of dopamine and adhd is like a lack of dopamine so higher dose of adhd medication would increase your bpd traits
MY doc started me on 40mg. so far all it does is make me nauseated and i hate it, i wanted my old focalin xr at a higher dose but because its a stimulant i have to go through a drug test which i have to cover the cost of and have to get clean from weed. which isnt a big deal in and of it self. but i just hate the idea that i could get the shit as a kid. but now i need a drug test
like i dont give a fuck if people abuse the shit. thats not my problem. harrassing people who need the shit doesnt do shit abour abuse or traficking. stupid government money grubing bullshit
Also women have libidos too mate
That was my same thought. Women do get erections in their clitoris ...helloooo that’s where women’s blood goes and how most women orgasm (smacks forehead)
He said women can't get erections, not that they don't have libidos. Unless a woman has a penis, which is entirely possible, she can't get an erections. Although, women do have erectile tissue.
@@RandolphTheWhite1 my life just changed in 2 seconds
@@RandolphTheWhite1 um no "erections" still apply to women too, not speaking about libido. Libido refers to desiring sex in general, but when I, as a woman, started taking antidepressants it would take me 45 min + to get off and sometimes I felt absolutely nothing as I did. just numbness. when before it easily took me 5 min or less and multiple orgasms of extreme intensity that made me laugh, cry and pass out. Men can't get elections and women can get erections too
@@giap.1586 Oh okay.
This doc said erectile dysfunction only affects men as if women don't get aroused at all lol
I personally cannot stand nausea it Shuts me down almost completely.. I think I will avoid this one if nausea is common
@@vulpixelful Erectile dysfunction only applies to men (cuz penises), whereas libido applies to both genders.
Omfg stopping cold turkey is probably the most painful thing I ever went thru
If I could choose my side effects I would want the decreased appetite ONLY
My 8 year old could not urinate, it’s like there was a mental block where her brain was not able to tell her pelvic muscles to relax to release the urine. She knew she needed to pee and felt it but she could not pee!
Poor baby!!! That’s horrible
No heaches, dry mouth, Ed, I sleep shorter... but I love the side effects of not feeling hungry. 230 always wanted to get down to 190. If I over eat, slight feeling of nausea that makes me not want to eat...❤ not feeling hungry.
Im so amazed at the fact you’re literally writing with both of your hands 😂
I didn't like it, the worst of all symptoms was the lower abdominal pain and even genital pain, waking up shouting, jumping out of bed. The mood was very artificial feeling, like a controlled low, it didn't even supress my impulsivity. The only good side effect was the decongestant effect.
Makes a video for people with ADHD yet plays music in the background while talking so people with ADHD can’t even pay attention to the content.
Literally can’t get the info I want because I can’t focus.
I really wish that you had not added this music. It is the equivalent to several people talking to you at the same time.
The nausea comment about biting into the pill….made me LOL.
I've been on and off adderall for a while in my adult life. my doc prescribed me this and I am sort of looking forward to trying a non stimulant based solution. I hear it can take a few weeks to notice results which im willing to endure. I dislike how adderall can be very intense at times even if were to use XR It will come in waves of extreme focus I would rather just have an ongoing stream. Hopefully no ED for me!
how is everything?
how'd it go?
I’ve been there. Glad you’re working to get off of it. It’s rough.
How did they administer the sugar pill to the subjects over the 10 weeks.
fake packageing ?
Yes. the placebo is packaged to look like a real drug.
I took 40mg yesterday as my first time taking this drug and it completely knocked me on my bed, could hardly move with a bit of nausea and headaches. is it normal? now 12h later i feel just a bit weird but no more completely knocked 😕 .
My first day taking it was super rough too but I noticed I’m a bit better today and I’ll be on my third day of 40mg. Good luck to you!!

“If you’ve ever bitten into it to see what it takes like” Back when I was a kid my mom would split open the capsule and put it in my apple sauce. Sometimes I wouldn’t get mixed in all the way and I could still taste it. It was nasty.
I stopped this medication after 4 weeks.
Everytime I would work out or play hockey, I was having cold sweats and faster heart rate. The weirdest were sexual side effects. Jesus Christ man

My son just tried vyvanse and he is also on Abilify. He is autistic and has depression the vyvanse made him angry and irritable so I took him off today. I am lost. Will strattera help him with adhd and his anxiety ?????
my doc told me methylphenidate (concerta) can cause depression, hence I got atomoxetine. Concerta is like milder vyvanse.
It very well might as structurally Strattera it has more in common with SSRI's used to treat mood disorders than the psychostimulants. But logic only gets you so far. There's no substitute for trial and error.
my adhd couldnt sit through this video 😭
My side effects are insomnia, dry mouth, nausea, reduced appetite… but the sleep factor for me sucks because I enjoy my rest lol I also get super hot and sweating when I initially pop it in.. for the first 3 hours soo…. Idk but it helps me remember things and get focused.
I’m 31, I’ve been taking 40mg twice a day for 3 months and 25mg for the 3 months before. 6 months total. After 40mg and 3 months ED happened overnight. 2 times in one week last week. Not sure why it magically showed up. I’ve had zero side effects until now.
After 3 days of taking 40mg i feel like im in a horrible fog and feel a jumpy and like im going crazy at times

My son needs Strattera, unfortunately it is not available in Morocco.😥 The doctor told me that you can get it from outside the country. Can you help me please?
Dude I was throwing up violently my first day taking it. Couldn’t even keep water down.
I don't know if I'm acting or if it's real, but I seem to have trouble breathing when I take it, and have a bit of wheezing? Also it feels like my chest is boiling? I'm starting at 25mg once a day, and then will be doing 25mg twice a day after 2 weeks.
Over the top music, cartoon characters, writing with TWO hands at the same time. This video is giving me ADHD.
Ha ha. Will tone things down in future vids. Meanwhile thanks for giving me a chuckle.
Can anyone tell me where are the solutions?
Lol me with ADHD staring at EVERYTHING I POSSIBLY CAN IN THE ROOM, and not on the doctor - and this is with Strattera :p
Can you do a video about Strattera and menopause? Also, alternatives for menopause. Thx!
I'm not sure what you're asking. Strattera is a Rx for ADHD, not menopause. Maybe if you elaborate on your question some more I can help.
The music! We have ADHD - please don't publish with music!
I feel in party
Why is this surgeon talking about starters? Does he give lobatomies?
I'll watch this if you ditch the background music. I mean, seriously?
What about taking it with ability and venlafaxine I’m weening off ven starting with 40 mg straterra for dysthymia and bipolar 2 as well as ADHD
I haven't tested that particular stack so can't meaningfully weigh in on it.
Who else experienced abdominal pain and how long until it went away
I started this a week ago and haven't noticed any of this. I have been on Lexapro for a year and my doc said to stay on it while starting Straterra. I don't have any of these symptoms which is great but the whole point of my starting my ADHD treatment was because of my chronic fatigue I deal with and that has yet to improve. In fact, since starting this I have had to take a nap mid day two days this week and I NEVER nap, even with chronic fatigue I manage to stay awake and not take naps. If this doesn't improve in the next few weeks, I will be switching to a stimulant because I can't deal with the fatigue anymore, not with working two jobs that require focus!
you should eat clean mostly low on carbs. at least low carbs during the day.
how do you work taking multiple naps a day?
Zoloft has helped me anxiety, ptsd and energy wise. I don't know if you're situation got better or what but I just wanted to share that with you in case you were looking for something else. Hope you have a better day.
On 40-60mg I experienced fatigued still and made sure to take it mid day, after work or soemthing in case I got drowsy. But at 80mg the drowsiness is completely gone lol for me atleast.
Is it possible to be prescribed Strattera and a psychostimulant or would they cause issues when both taken at the same time?
It is possible but would be a violation of Occam's razor i.e. a solution with the fewest steps/agents/hassle. Straterra was studied in combination with Ritalin and they played fine together.
SSRI is nothing like an NDRI like Strattera. Completely different.
Cant believe anxiety is not on the side effects.
helped with my anxiety
Man they writeing with 2 hands is nuts. I take zeratera at 45mg and it was picked because I also take lithium for bipolar. No appetite and constipation are full effect also tiredness
I lost my period after a high dose. Completely messed up my cycle.
@Angel Sanchez Very delayed menses. 3 months after stopping 80mg cold turkey. Probably not the best idea. There is a video that explains that a study in mice showed epigenetic changes that don’t go away possible ever.
Just took my first one
I just got prescribed it. Can you give me an update on your side effects and symptom changes? Thank you.
How much is lethal? I’m definitely not asking out of suicidal thoughts
Just got this prescribed. Doc not sure if I have ADHD, so I need a dx from psych to get Adderall. Also on fluoxetine and bupropion for ptsd. One side effect of ptsd is not being able to focus on tasks because your brain is tired from always being in fight or flight/hypervigilance. Been taking Strattera for 5 days now and don't notice any increase in ability to concentrate.

Does the ed go away when you stop?
Generally yes.
How big was the control study vs the side effect numbers? typical doctor jumping to conclusions that make no sense "people are stupid so pharmaceuticals are totally safe and effective"

I used Strattera for a couple years and it did help with my ADD, especially in school and at work (I was 55 yrs old). The only side effect I got was ED. My penis seemed to have shrunk during relaxation to about 1 1/2" to 2", usually I'm was 6 1/2". After stopping the use of Strattera and 5 yrs later, my penis size during relaxation is 3-4" and during erection about 5" It is extremely frustrating and there is not much I can do.

The math is actually very very very wrong here. If 17% of the placebo group had that side effect it does not mean that it accounts for 17% of all of the group. I won't be watching more vids by this guy.
He’s saying that BOTH groups had 17% (per group), so the frequency is equal amongst groups, making neither have a statistical significance, so it truly isn’t a large risk.

that intro is absolutely assaulting holy shit
The two hands is distracting to me and the music. my ADD is overloaded.
I took it first time today...so far I have ADHD, 23 M , I felt nauseous a little because I took it without much food, recommend taking it with carbs not with proteine or fats, because it will make you drained, dry mouth moderate level and I got ED...yeah erectyle dysfunction and drop of libido , but this is as long as I take the pill I had the same problem with escitalopram and my penis healed after 1 week of giving up on it, so I feel that strattera shouldn't be taken with a week before planning to have sex as a man
