It’s so hard to get into the music industry in the Philippines but notice, once they make it they stay there and grow old having a thriving career and Filipinos gave them the highest regard and honor.
🤣 efra so funny... Our American client was sharing a story how he was shookt walking around the mall one day and heard someone singing on one of these videoke stores (Magic Sing 😉). His Pinoy guide explained the guy singing was "product testing" before purchasing. The guy was rocking a baby pram while doing birit Journey songs 🤣. It was too good but shoppers just passed by like its totally normal
My dears… this is true.. I live in The Philippines and it’s normal to go to a mall, department store and suddenly, you will listen an angelic voice singing on a karaoke in the store.. pilipinos are truly amazing singers.. they are blessed people.. besides, they are great human beings.. friendly and helpful..🥰
Here in the Philippines if your voice is good people in the Mall will just Ignore you - But if you have a Bad Voice People will Stop and Watch you till you finish singing and encourage you to Practice more and don't stop singing But in Singing Contest They will Cheer the best singer on top of their lungs shouting " Birit Mo na "
The more you don't have that "voice"..... the more you are unique in a way... There are indeed a lot of good singers in the Philippines.. But what stands you out is your uniqueness and style.. that makes you great among the crowd. And to be a recording star... it takes more than a voice..... package deal dapat... ksama na ang professionalism, character and syempre backer... hahahaha
I cannot get enough of these compilations. It’s so heartwarming to see normal everyday people showing their talent to the world. Please never stop doing these.
While i was young, I don't appreciate good voices too much because there is always that 1 friend that can sing. You can see them in karaoke in parties. And thanks to your channel, now i know that its not normal in other countries.
Yes at first I thought it's natural for us here but shocked after I watched different comments that admired us Filipinos ...love the attention...proud to be a Filipino🇵🇭❤️💐👋
So I'm on an extended stay back in the Philippines and caught up with a friend and we got to talking about OPM and I mentioned this channel and how you guys find it mental that malls have open mics. Having never been outside the country, my friend was like, they don't have karaoke machines in the malls in where you live? And I realized that Philippine singing culture is indeed a little out of the ordinary lol!
I was given a chance to sing on stage while we were at a cruise in Singapore. The moment I stepped down the stage, the manager was giving me his card and asking me if I want to join their group. I just told them that I already have work and we just joined the Philippine Embassy officers in Singapore taking the cruise. That's life! 😁😁😁
It's hard to dissect our singing culture. It has to be said though that Filipinos are very fond of love songs and romantic ballads so Whitney, Celine songs are very popular here. And we're great mimics too, we learn from how the singers sing their songs and we learn from those whose voices are phenomenal. As for these talents that have gone viral, Ezra asked the question of did they become famous for this? Not many. A lot of Filipinos are blessed with good voices but it's a competitive industry and you can spend years trying to break in the industry so many people just go on with their lives, finish college, have a good job while singing their hearts out on weekends on the karaoke machine. Many artists have paid their dues. They go on singing contests all over the country, then audition for singing contests on TV and many have become famous this way like Regine, Charice, Morissette, Sarah Geronimo to name a few. They weren't famous overnight, it took years and sacrifice for them to be where they are at.
I'm a filipino fan:D And also from what i noticed about my fellow filipinos, most filipinos can sing, even kids in a very very young age can sing very well and powerful as i saw in tv shows! It's very amazing
laughing here as well. you both have great sense of humor. Thanks for the genuine appreciation of our culture . Filipinos always try to find joy in every situation even when things are bad somehow there’s always a smile on their faces. Wish you both success in all you’re doing.
A usual Filipino wedding *reception* band setlist: MYMP hits, Sitti hits, & Nina hits. These are the songs sung or played especially during the meal part of the reception proper. For the weddings I've attended, in the middle of the reception program they'll usually have the hired singer or someone from the guests sing and they'll usually go for a belty ballad (the most frequent I've heard is Regine's version of On The Wings of Love or PKAIK) For the actual wedding ceremonies: a handful of OPM ballads with Ikaw in the title including Regine's, a beautiful song called Panunumpa, Basil Valdez hits, and sometimes a bunch of The Company's hits especially Now That I Have You. There was a time though when Ed Sheeran's Perfect was released and blew up like crazy it was EVERYWHERE. I feel like almost every couple in the PH that got married during that year used Perfect as their wedding song there was no escaping that "I found a love~" intro.
Waleska singing (and laughing) in the outro while the screen is already black is lit. “Bakit nga ba mahal kita..” (why do I love you so) ..she should have finished the whole line so we could sing along more ..”kahit di pinapansin ang damdamin ko” (even if you don’t notice how I feel). Thanks for appreciating OPM.
I love you two! Thank you so much for loving and appreciating our Filipino culture! And it's so much fun watching Efra rant about stuff istg :'D I'm always excited to watch all your videos! More power to you, guys! Oh and also, I highly recommend Fern. He's also an OPM artist that I really love listening to.
I so loved you both. I'm teary eyed laughing with you. You're both hilarious. Watching your RV's is so informative while becoming healthier with all the laughter. I'd say " A laughter a day keeps your Doctor away". And your Tagalog diction is good too. You both look awesome. Thank you once again.
Welcome to the Phillipines guys...this SUMMER time you can find cottages on beaches that have a kareoke machine individually to every cottage...imagine that every cottage just 3 meters away each other that everybody is singnging differrent song! it will blow your mind😊😊😊

Efra I totally agree with you as the new generation of Filipinos singers loves to innovate the tone of music. which makes it a little interesting every now and then. And it super normal trying to check the sound system first in the venue but looks like your having a concert 😂😂
I was smiling your whole reaction video🤣 I'm sure im not the only one enjoying watching you ,the way you enjoy filipino singing on every reaction videos you make is ❤️.
OMG, 😂🤣 Efra you are so hilarious. How I wish one day you will going to date a Filipina that will sing her heart out with you and then will sing together 😊 and that would be soo good❤️
I forget how beautiful the Filipino language is for singing. Also, karaoke machines in the Philippines have like “scores” up to 100, so people will sing their hearts out to get that high score to “beat” the others singing with them. And it also helps that Filipinos casually sing pretending like they’re at a concert.
