- A short evening session rock fishing on the Lizard in Cornwall. Learning how to catch Ballan Wrasse. I started our using soft plastics for Pollock and wrasse without success, as soon as I switched to rag worm, fished on a jig head (a very simple Wrasse rig/rock fishing rig) the fishing improved instantly. Also caught a few Pollock on Sabiki feathers and metal savage gear seeker.
There are so many good rock fishing marks in Cornwall go and try them out!
Tackle used
Rod- Major craft Skyroad
Reel- shimano Stradic 3000
Braid- Daiwa J Braid
Enjoying your videos. I live not far at all from there and there are some very big wrasse about. Best bait for finding the larger ones 5lb plus I have found is hard back crab!
Cheers for watching. I’ve not been rock fishing for a while now due to Covid. Would like to get out chasing Wrasse again. I can only imagine what a 5lber would fight like. Great sport.
Tight lines. 🎣
@@LureoftheOutdoors We have had them up to 7 lbs on crab. All I will say is they certainly test your knot strength! I have had a couple of 5lb wrasse on xlayers while bassing.
Oh wow, that’s huge. Might struggle to get them out the kelp with the lure rod! Not used xlayers for a while, they were great in AYU colour. 👍
Those wrasse was stunning in heading down in the silly season with the Family fingers crossed for some nice fish
Cheers for watching. Yes they were some of the most colourful Wrasse I've caught. Good luck on your trip and hope the weathers settled by then! Tight lines! 🎣👍
Great video, wrasse are great fun aren't they?!
Cheers for watching. Yes they are a great fish to target and always seem obliging to bite. Very underrated. Tight lines. 🎣👍
Nice vid mate. Enjoyed that! :-)
Cheers thanks for watching. 👍I normally like to just fish with lures but it’s sometimes nice to fish with bait. Tight lines. 🎣
