    Dr. Chaffee, your honest telling of how are bodies ACTUALLY work best on carnivore fuel, and how toxic plants can be, is currently changing how I eat now. Hubby and I just prepped ribeyes and are aging them in the fridge for our Christmas feast! Have been watching most of your videos and at 63 years old I finally have hope and feel I have a chance at true health again. I believe I’ve been suffering from oxalate poisoning for years now. God bless you, and thank you for sharing your knowledge and for being so brave ❤. Vivian B., Florida, USA

I'm so glad that you and your husband have found this and are getting better as a result. It has always been my hope that more people learn about this so that they can heal themselves and not be stuck in the endless loop of sickness and more and more medications. I'm so happy for you both, and I truly hope that you will both resolve all of your issues and have long and healthy lives together!

    I have was KETO for about a year, then Carnivore for two years. I have never felt better. I am 62, I lost 45 pounds and take no medications and do heavy labour and ride dirt bikes for fun. My dad and brother died, and two younger friends both had heart attacks this week. I tried to tell them.

      I know, I’ve lost 6 family members to type 2 diabetes. I went ketovore after I lost my 58 year old kid brother last August. The two morbidly obese sisters think I’m nuts. My fasting insulin is a nice 4.3 and I weigh now at 67 the same 125 as when I was in high school. Fatty meat rocks, I have sauerkraut and hard cheese for dessert😊 I’ve interested two friends who are trying but I am shocked that the frank diabetics I know just turn up their noses because their doctor says….I’m certain they’d jump off the Brooklyn Bridge I’d be suggested that also. American medicine is in a very sad state promoting the SAD corruption laden advice.
      It is refreshing to see intelligence with an MD tacked onto his name! Thank you Dr. Chaffee!!! Dr Ken Berry will always be my #1 hero because he started me on my health recovery journey, but you are a close second.

The fats in meat are full of essential vitamins and minerals. The growing heart disease issue across the world has only been ever-growing. Why? Processed foods, sugar, and unnatural oils. This does not include the vegetables that most people are unaware cause inflammation. Especially when it is NOT cooked properly. Google, "Lectins". I started carnivore 4 weeks ago. I'm experiencing some interesting things.
    1. Before carnivore, I would never sweat during strenuous activity. Now I sweat all over profusely (big sweat beads appear on my arms and legs) with strenuous activity. I wonder why???
    2. Lots more energy, feel good
    3. Lost 12 pounds in the first 10 days
    4. I think I've grown a little taller because now I have to lean down to turn on the water in my sink. (I'm in my 40's)
    5. Skin looks brighter, feels smoother, no pimples
    6. Water tastes better (No sodas). Increased water intake
    7. I ate a piece of fried chicken, and it made me go to the bathroom twice, my stomach ached (Fried food no longer agrees with me)

    What kind of steak do you generally eat? Rump? Porterhouse? Scotch fillet? They have differing protein and fat. Do you eat fish? Chicken? Lamb? Turkey? Like a 425 gram $3 tin of tuna in spring water skipjack tuna wild caught has almost 4 times the protein than a kilo of steak and hardly any fat. But its dry it can make you constipated need to add maybe butter or olive oil or something.

    Dr.Chaffee, first off, I want to say thanks for all of the great content, I am a new follower and my wife, and I have recently converted to the carnivore woe. my question and concern is the amount of protein needed as I actively workout and lift somewhat heavy. Before this woe my protein goal for the day was 1 gram per lb. of goal body weight so for me is 175lbs/g. With that being said I am currently eating twice a day fasting from 7/8pm until noon. first meal is about 6-7oz of medium ground beef with 3 large eggs, then for dinner a 12-16oz steak and 3 more large eats. I do feel content with this amount of food however protein on this is around 130-140g... is that something I need to supplement to get up to the protein goal? I did try and search your videos for my answer and I'm sure there is one out there however I have not found this, and it is a current concern of mine. Thanks, and hope to hear back.

    I'm wondering what your thoughts are on dairy (cheese/milk) if you are not lactose intolerant.
    I'm experimenting right now with having some hard cheese (gouda/parmesan/cheddar) about an hour before bed. I (was) doing OMAD and eating my main meal around lunch time after my morning workout. But with carnivore and working out I found my metabolism rose and find that adding cheese is an easy way to add calories and actually having my stomach not empty before bed is kinda nice for me.

      Nutritionist Bart Kay says if you don't have any issues with dairy, go for it. But he also says humans can't eat heat, which is what calories are. Calories are determined using a bomb calorimeter which actually burns the item. Humans use chemicals (acid, enzymes, maybe other things) which break down fats, carbs, proteins into their smallest components. Completely different process.

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Dairy is fine if you don't react badly to it but I would definitely keep it only as a condiment for meat as opposed to just eating dairy on its own. Also enough lactose will raise your insulin and derail your metabolic state should just be mindful that you don't get too much of that in milk etc

      Who produces bile is the liver, who stores it is the gallbladder, your liver will continue to produce bile,
      Carnivore doctors say you have to eat fat lightly, and you yourself will analyze your body, and give it time to adapt to fat,
      A piece of advice, start changing your food for meat little by little, understand little by little, any radical change your body will feel a strong impact,
      That you can believe is something bad,
      So start slowly, and build up slowly, try to follow your intuition for food,
      Do everything calmly, kindly to your body,
      You probably ate the wrong way for many years,
      There's no way to solve 30 or 40 years of eating wrong, in fact I mean since childhood eating wrong,
      Keep researching a lot, because with information comes awareness to change with quality.

My surgeon said to me he could only try to give me time with my eye have to make a drastic change. I went on TH-cam looking for help and came across videos with Dr Berry and Jason Fung and they inspired me to try Keto and intermittent fasting, I did something that I shouldn’t of done but I just ate keto and stop all my insulin cold turkey, my doctor hit the roof and there was no encouragement, for about 10 days I had reading between 4-6 could not believe it , before my reading 7-12 .

    I've noticed that i pooped more often when i lessened my fat amounts on my carnivore period. Fat requires also plenty of work from (at least my) small intestines. Personally i have been more tolerant to protein than fat.
    Also, in the cases that might have contributed to increased motility, it was eating it beyond my limits to the point of nausea, and that ended up in diarrhea.
    Also, i don't think that your argument "people didn't need fiber before 1980 because they ate fat" is valid. Maybe they indeed ate fat more, but most people still ate plants regularly. It wasn't like in the 80's a study said that you need fiber, and suddenly the whole world turned from carnivore to adding heaps of fiber. I'm not advocating that fiber is 100% essential for bowel movements, but just pointing out a flaw in logic.

    • @lucasb409
      @lucasb409 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I know my comment is anecdotal, but I noticed that increasing my fat intake, water, and exercising daily made me have great bowel movements. It was less frequent than when I was a vegetarian. However; my bowel movements today are much more smooth and easy to pass. All the fibre I ate as a veggieman caused me lots of bloating and multiple poor bowel movements. To the point of constipation!

    Dr. Chaffee, I just found your TH-cam channel a while back after watching Lillie Kane, I have implement many things she shares in hopes it will help me in my journey. I started carnivore three years ago, during that first year our family were awful to us & I was told that I was starving my husband because to them he look underweight. The whole holiday of Christmas that first year the berated us and we cracked and fell of the wagon so to say. We stop going up to see our family after that year. They cannot seem to accept the way we eat and torment us when we go up. Took me like 6 months to get back on full carnivore, my husband has a bad food addiction, plus he would tell me I'll be OK and I wasn't, it took him that long to figure out that I wasn't getting better so he stop enabling me to eat ice cream which is my nemesis. So into the second year I started having horrible periods and unstable moods, I would have melt downs once a week and my cycle got worse. So that was when I realized I had screwed my hormones with too much fasting. So now where in the middle of the third year and am stuck on my weight loss and my periods do not seem to be doing any betters, so I started natural progesterone cream in hopes it will help everything get back on track. During that heavy fasting I did three years ago, now am having a hard time getting enough to eat, You talk about eating till your full, well I do and I have realized that its not enough. I do not count calories they make no sense to me, so I started counting grams. So I try to meet at least 120grams of protein a day and I follow your recommendation about the fat. Am I do this the wrong way, I still cannot seem to loose any more weight I cannot even get down to my 2nd year weight again. I just need to know if am doing it right or not. I will be cutting more out of my diet, cheese, protein powder, butter, and coffee. Am confused and lost. I have reached out too many Doctors. They suggested I pay to be involved in some group. I wish I could. Like many people right now we do not have the extra funds. It makes me sad, it shouldn't be so hard to find a little advise and/or encouragement. :) Help.

      Wow, that sounds like a rough battle. There's definitely a strong connection between the amount of social/familial attatchment security we have and the degree to which we impulsively/addictively use foods to fill any voids we're experiencing. I hope you can mend any broken relationships so that at least there's no hostility, and strengthen the close relationships you do have, like with your husband. That'll definitely spare you two from excessive impulses to eat foods that are bad for you.
      As far as specific diets go, I'm not an expert on any of this; all I have is my own experience. I'd just start with the most basic diet you can think of: plain meat (of one or two varieties) and water; no other animal products, no condiments or spices or salt, no drinks like coffee or tea. Do that for a few weeks, eating just once a day. If you're body is good with that (aside from any cravings you still have), then gradually add the foods you can't live without to see which of them cause problems. Also, I wouldn't be taking any medication or supplements, regardless of how harmless you think they are. This worked for me but I did this when I was around 20 years old when my body had a lot of adaptability, so it may be a lot harder for your age. I'm not saying you're old but you do sound older than 20 haha.

    • @anthonychaffeemd
      @anthonychaffeemd  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You don't need to pay anything, just eat fatty red meat and water ONLY, and keep eating fatty red meat until it STOPS tasting good. That's the trick to honey as your hunger signals will change: of fatty meat tastes good, you are still hungry and should keep eating. Drop absolutely everything else, especially the protein powders and anything that comes in a container. Also, try to get 1g of fat for every 1g of protein, or even 2g fat to 1g protein. You don't need to fast, on fact that can slow your progression as it will slow your metabolism. And don't mind the haters; if you are doing well and feeling better then it doesn't matter what they think. Just laugh and shrug it off, they'll stop once they realize you don't care what they say, and either way you KNOW you are healthier and feel better eating this way instead. Anyone who tells you that it's unhealthy to avoid eating things like ice cream doesn't have your best intentions at heart.
      If you need added support, join the Facebook groups Zero Carb Health and Zeroing in on Health. They are both excellent carnivore groups.

      They did, but their health wasn't as good as their neighbor's. Also, they chemically treated them first to detox and unlock the nutrients. We don't do that anymore

      I ask myself, who said they ate that? If they did, did they grow strong like spartans and vikings? Did their civilization flourish? To give these natives credit, it may have been a bad multi decade season of famine, helping them to eat grains. Hey, nothing wrong with grains for emergency food for disasters or economic woes, but meats and fats is the way to go!

    • @anthonychaffeemd

      No I don't really crave anything. I find those leave at about week 2 of going pure carnivore. You should watch this video by a professor of Botany in Texas, especially about the celery. th-cam.com/video/fnjX3cZ4q84/w-d-xo.html

    After 2 days of zero carb my eyes get dry and I feel something uncomfortable happening to my brain. Then I get scared and eat some fruit. Is this a part of the transition? Will it go away if I persist and stick to zero carb for more than 2 days?

      Are you already doing low carb, or going from a normal diet to zero carbs? I have seen from many people that if they went to fast the transition was a lot harder on their body and mind. Those that took smaller steps over the course of months had less issues.

      @CUBEOFSIX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@anthonychaffeemd I find it delicious especially the more fresh it is. I was wondering since we probably ate predominantly raw meat for the past 2 million years prior to discovering how to light a fire, it should make sense that we can thrive on clean raw meat. I also learned that certain nutrients like taurine are diminished when meat is cooked, see the Pottinger experiment with two groups of cats, one fed raw meat and the other cooked. I would also assume we get less vitamins from the meat if we cook it. Anyway, I’m doing both raw and cooked, since with cooked you do get more protein.

    Simons mike is not picking up the audio well. Very difficult to hear his comments. In fact I like Dr Chaffees' narrative wen he just speaks on 1 specific topic by himself especially if he keeps it on the shorter side. For the average listener to get the benefit of the knowledge, we just need basic understandable science coupled with actionable advice for our problem. Personally I am interested in auto immune disorders specifically Raynauds syndrome (my most bothersome symptom). No one ever speaks of reversing this however I think it may be possible with this WOE. I like Chaffees approach better than Saladino actually who tends to get carried away with the studies etc. The best interview iv seen is the one with the Asian dietician Judy. I actually shared that with a few ppl.

      Thank you for watching and your suggestions! And I'm glad you liked the episode with Judy as well. I did an episode myself on autoimmune disorders that you can take a look at, but essentially all autoimmune issues can be significantly reduced it even reversed on a strict carnivore diet. And even going further to sticking to red meat, without eggs or dairy, grass fed if you can afford it.
