If you’re going a long way you want a full-face helmet (especially if the weather is dodgy). When you get to the sights you might want an open-face helmet (especially if the weather is great). Shark’s Evo GT is specifically designed to give tourers the best of both worlds. Find out more...

I currently wear a Shark Spartan Carbon, XXL, was worried that the new Evo GT only went up to a single XL, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the XL does indeed fit my enormous noggin! 62.5cm. Even closes perfectly, no tension on the locks.
The Evo GT is definitely going on the Xmas wishlist!

I was gutted it didn't fit me. I was stuck between sizes! Med to small large to big 😒. After watching a previous video of yours I ended up with the RPHA70 that I'm very happy with

Good review Tony, thanx! Have Shark resolved the issue with the Pinlock rubbing and marking (Evo-One and One 2), when the clear visor is raised? and also the known scratching issue with the internal sun visor where is puts perfectly straight vertical lines down the centre of the black visor? (caused by your forehead pushing against the opening and rubbing against the visor when it's raised?). fan of Shark lids on my second (Evoline 3 / now wearing a an Evo-One 2 purchased from SBS)

I've just been down to see Jo and Tracey in our returns department and they've not seen Evo GTs coming back with those issues. Can't guarantee it's not happening, but we're not getting any back with the issue. I hope that helps, and thanks for the kind comment about the review. Cheers, Tony

HI great review. I am wondering if the visor will fit into the other evoline helmets. I have a evoline series3 that I like the helmet but it doesn't have the pinlock visor.

Thanks - and sorry for the delayed reply. Sorry, this visor won't fit the Evoline series. We've never stocked a Pinlock-ready visor for those helmets, and a look online suggests they're not out there. Apologies. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    Thanks for the great video.
If you had to compare the LS2 Valiant 2 and the SHARK EVO-GT, which would you choose?
    I'm torn between the two.

It's a close call, but I think the fact the Shark is lighter would sway it for me personally. Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

      LS2 is bad!
I had the first Evo, than the Evo One.
Last year it was time to change the helmet and I tried LS2 to see, it has the integrated chin thing, which is always there while the Evo One needs to be pulled out, not really easy with big gloves...
Boy if it was a bad call!
First of all for long rides it doesn't really fits my head as well, too round but ok, that's personal.
It's noisy as hell, I cannot hear the GPS, and even with earplugs it's loud. It's not just the air but the entire thing seems to resonate.
And after a couple of months the plastic is all creaky, and after a year the padding is not staying in there, and in general anything made of cloth is pulverizing, including the bottom chin flap (the layers are completely separated now).
And water slips easily, it rains inside the visor somehow.
I also find the side sunvisor lever hard to use, I can't ever remember which way is up or down, and at times I activate it while reaching for the interphone.
I'm watching this review only because I'm back to Shark and I wanted to know about the improvement vs the Evo SE which is basically the Evo One.
LS2 is cheaper, and it deserves to be.

Is there enough space on the side for a Cardo Pack bold? Looking at going from a Schberth C4Pro to one of these for event marshalling and blood biking

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

There's enough space on the side if you use the self-adhesive mount (the trim around the rim is too wide for the clamp mount). The Cardo speakers won't fit in the recesses so you'd need to use the Velcro spacers to pad out that recess and hope there's enough room between ear and speaker to keep it comfortable. Thanks for getting in touch and I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony

@@sportsbikeshop cheers tony. Are the shapes similar to schuberth shape inside?

I've not worn a C4 Pro so couldn't compare the Evo GT to that, but I think the new C5's internal shape would be similar to the Evo GT, if that helps. Cheers, Tony

Hi, does the visor open in increments or is it either fully open or fully closed? I've just bought an airoh rev 19 and it is only either open or closed and you can just crack it open for airflow. So I'm not sure I like it, so wonder if this is the same.

Hi, the visor does open in increments: fully open, 5 steps, a cracked position (2cm-ish gap) and then fully closed. I wouldn't expect the visor to stay in any of the five steps while riding at any speed, though. Hope that helps, and apologies for the late response. Cheers, Tony

For my experience with previous models, it stays pretty fixed in semi-open positions while going.

Does Cardo pactalkt bold black (with 45mm JBL speakers) fit to Shark Evo GT?

Apologies - I'll not be able to find out until after Christmas now. I'll reply after the break, unless someone else reading this is able to help in the meantime. Cheers, Tony
