To my brother Terry (RIP) who introduced me to this beautiful redindition. Still get chills listening to this and beloved memories. Until we meet again xx xx
First heard Wichita Lineman played by a Jazz pianist; an instrumental version... Knew nothing about the song prior to that. Then about 10 years ago I heard Dennis' version and fell in love with it. And shortly after I discovered Glenn - just beautiful. I like both versions. Obviously Dennis thought this song great enough to pay homage to it. Funnily enough, it was about 15 years ago, that I found out that some of the older reggae greats appreciated country music. And one of the things I love about reggae is that, as well as creating so many sweet originals, they've often put out some really nice covers of popular tunes from other genres of music; this one is a prime example.
Never knew DB covered this great song; wonderful rendering, but what else is new? My dad was a Lineman, so it's one of our favourite songs in the house...Lovely, and big thanks....
Probably one of the most underrated reggae artists. This is probably crazy to say this but Bob Marley was the reggae king for communicating the message of Rastafari and bringing people together but Dennis Brown was the best in terms of pure singing and the power of what his voice can do when he was singing. A truly all time great along side Bob Marley, John Holt, Alton Ellis, Ken Booth, Sugar Minott, Gregory Issacs, Freddie Mcgregor, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer.
I AGREE HIS MUSIC IS WORDLY IN EVERY ASPECT HIS ENTIRE CATALOG TEACHES US HOW TO OVERCOME THE EVERYDAY STRUGGLES WE ENCOUNTER WITH LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING THATS WHY THE CREATOR BLESSED HIM WITH AN AMAZING TALENT,VOICE, AND STLYE TO DELIVER US THE WORDS OF WISDOM...🇯🇲🌍🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥👣💯
i need you more than want you....🎵🎼i remember playing this tune when my lady wulde walk out on me...i would just sit and drink. my 32 ..and smoke herbs

My mom liked Glenn Campbell version. But this is my favorite version of this song.

Gone but never forgotten
Imagine he sang this at age 15. Legend, genius, prodigy. My Favourite Reggae artist of all time.
