    I just got the same model and it is a little rough and has some kind of oven box to put over the burners. Thanks for the info on restoring it.

    I just purchased a three burner Ivanhoe that looks to be in good shape though needing paint. Fingers crossed it will be shipped without damage, this video is a godsend.

    Hello. Great video with lots of info! I have a Perception 2 burner model 392, and I'm curious how you got the kerosene bottle clean? Thank you.

    I just acquired an Ivanhoe/Perfection 3 burner and one of the wicks is buried down in the burner and the adjuster just spins. I was hoping this was something you had to address but apparently your still moved. Hoping I can boil it in washing soda and carefully dig it out somehow. Thanks for the video.

      Hopefully it is just the cage that is stripped and not the gear on the adjuster shaft.

      @@greghall_The_TechEditor My thought exactly. I think I'm going to pore Kano Kroil in it and try to extract it with dental picks or bent ice picks. If I'm not successful I'll probably just flip it as is because functionality is a requirement for my restorations.

      @@greghall_The_TechEditor Update. After injecting Kano Kroil oil in it and letting it set for days, I cut two strips of aluminum flashing, perforated the ends and jammed them down around the outside of the wick and carrier. I used a nail file to separate the inside of the badly rusted carrier, and finally by smacking the burner upside down flat on a 2x4 block got in to move to where I could grip the wick fibers with needle nose plyers. In all I estimate at least 2-3 hours just on that part of the resto. Just got my new wicks and the raiser still works as should.

    I have a four burner perfection 74. The lead gaskets that connect the fuel line to the burner is damaged and needs replaced. Any help on how to do this? Thx!

      Schwartz MFG. uses white plastic rings in their new production Perfection stoves. You can get them thru Swartz or Shetler's Wholesale.

    Just found myself a perfection two burner! One of the wick adjustment knobs doesn’t seem to be catching though. How exactly did you manage to get the old wicks out? I’m afraid I’ll rip the whole burner apart.

    • @greghall_The_TechEditor
      @greghall_The_TechEditor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like either the wick is varnished in or rusted in. I used electrical lineman's pliers and pulled as I turner the knob If it absolutely won't budge, remove the burner off the feed tube and soak it in acetone or boil it in water.

      Most of all, be patient. One get-er-done moment in frustration on these old brass burners and they'll never be the same.

    How does a person get in contact with Schwartz manufacturing, they do not seem to have a phone number, or email. Do I write them a snail mail letter requesting a catalogue or what?
