Nothing bad about the binding, I think the pickups aren't doing it the favor. If everything was the same, but the pickups were black, the guitar would then be gourgous. Still, if someone wants to send me one for free, I'll have absolutely no complaints, I would think it's the prettiest guitar in history of wooden instruments and I'll be the happiest man on earth.
Gary Holt is one of metals most underrated guitarist.
Gary Holt is what I call a baaaddddd asssss. Along with pre load mullet wearing, swearing, always pissed off Hetfield. There is only a few of them in thrash.

@@Kevin.Kelly. likewise. I discovered old-school death metal about 3 years ago. Been riding a high on it ever since. The melodies and the tones are just so unique. Everyone runs the same configuration over and over again. I love how it sounds doing thing different

Gary is one of the coolest dudes there is, and I’m glad to see this guitar is up to his standards. Can’t wait to get back out to live shows and rock out.
Gary was using the engl savage on the Exhibit B album, Tempo was a langner modded 800, the subsequent albums used a 6l6 peavey triple x with a presonus eq in front.
Tempo is the fattest
Tempo of the Damned has probably the best guitar tone of a metal album ever
exhibit B is my one of my favourite thrash tones of all time, probably tied with dark roots of the earth.
used a savage 120 boosted with a TS9. and blood in blood out was a kemper profile of the Tempo tone
When Gary used the xxx in the studio he used a Randall xl cab and on tour I believe he used either a Marshall or engl cab. Also he used el34 tubes for the studio and 6l6s on tour
Red & Black is one of the most badass colour combos imo.

Tempo of the damned the best and most solid album thrash album so far. Great riffs and drums sound amazing, Sneap did very good job mixing it all together

beautiful guitar, one of the best guitar sounds that I liked from the Exodus albums is The Atrocity Exhibition ... Exhibit A. Funeral Hymn, it almost injured my neck
Gotta say Gary Holt is by far one of my favorite guitarists. His riffs have rivaled anything the “Big Four” have ever done. My picks for that list would have be Exodus, Testament, Nuclear Assault and then yes Anthrax. Being 45 I’ve listened to all their albums and those for have just been constant in their releases. Just my opinion. I know not many will agree with me and that perfectly fine.
Cool picks. I’d go for: Dark Angel, Coroner, Exodus and Slayer

I thought you were referring to how good the tone and playing are. I agree either way.
How tall is he? I always assumed he was far over 6 foot but I can never pinpoint exactly how tall.
He's 6'5" or 6'6". I'm a 6'4" American and felt short in Sweden. I've never been anywhere else where you regularly see 7 footers pass by one another on the streets.

@@brodythompson6952 it’s a killer guitar. Mine is in my avatar pic. It’s had a bit of customization. I play my Gibson custom shops most lately. But this guitar is every bit as good as a Gibson USA model. I’ve had mine for a few years. Had a chance to get the ESP model cheap. Been kicking myself in the ass since. Lol
That guitar makes my heart pitter patter in a heavy metal love kinda way.

Seeing Exodus, Death Angel and Testament in the same night was one of the best gigs I've ever been too. Toxic waltz and Good day to die are my favourite Exodus songs.

Yeah EMGs have that perfect mid focus for metal.
I bought an EC-1000 last year and it came with the EMG 57/66TW set and I ended up changing them out for the classic 81/60 set. They just sound way better to my ears than the 57/66.

That Angel of Death bridge riff is one of the funnest riffs ever to play 🤘
For tempo they used his lagner modded marshall into t75s
for shovel they used the peavey XXX with t75s
for exhibit A they used the peavey again with v30
for exhibiz b they used the engl savage with a presonus eq
for the latest album blood in blood out they used the marshall again with v30s
for their new record they are using the modded marshall and the jubilee with an eq and od
the neck pickup 89R is not because red but because reversed meaning the single coil is closer to the neck
I was in the International House of Music in Santa Anna today. I played the one he signed and that thing shreds amazingly!!! I’m buying it next week!

Hells yeah!🤘 ANY song with the "Diabolis in Musica" shift in it I love👶!🤘 I've used it a lot myself (our album: 'New Beginning' no longer sold in stores) :-( But I digress....my favorite Ex-odus (coz they used to be Odus!😁) is: "Pleasures of the Flesh👶👶👶!! I got too meet Gary & Co. on that tour also!!🤘🤘 (But I digress again! ANY Exodus album is killer, so.... Hella good! As the California boys are fond of saying!)
89R as in REVERSE! - The coil split is the different coil to the 89.
And it sounds great!

Actually the R in 89R means that when the coil split is engaged, the closest coil to the neck is selected compared to the regular 89 where the closest coil to the bridge is selected

I owed one briefly. It felt like I was playing on a junior guitar. The scale was too short. I traded it for a nice Jackson. Ola you're crazy 😜 Black and red is totally bad ass. That's the most metal color combination ever!
Proud to be the owner of one of these and it is my absolute favourite guitar! I was actually the last person in Australia to get my hands on one! (They were discontinued)

Best sounding gear i have heard on this channel.
The EMG 89R is actually one of their coil-splittable pickups, but the R means they switched the position of the single coil in the pickup so that the 89R goes in the neck position rather than the Bridge where the 89 is meant to go.
I have the exact same problem with my EC256 - it doesn’t stay on my leg very easily when playing seated. Other than that I love it. ESP for the win.
It’s a far better guitar then any Epiphone by a very long way.
It's been like 10 years of videos and pickups trying to render EMG-81 as "outdated" and "the modern passives can do much better" but in the end, here we are in 2021 and EMG-81 for low-tuned, high-gain metal... it just works.
Playing Angel of Death in D Standard is probably much brutal sounding IMO 🤘

I had an ‘86 ESP Telecaster-copy. It had a stacked-humbucker in the bridge & played like a dream. I’ve loved their guitars ever since. I don’t think I’ve played one that was cheesy.

This is one of the best guitars in my collection because of how sleek it is and how easy it is to move up and down the neck, and it sounds great when it’s plugged into a Marshall DSL amp.

From what Gary told me (I asked him on a IG post a while back) Tempo was his modded Marshalls, Shovel and Exhibit A where his Peavey Triple XXX, and he said started using ENGL when they did Exhibit B.

Sure, here is the translation:
"The splitting works for both pickups. The bridge pickup is an 81TW, which is also a single coil. The neck pickup is an 89R, with the single coil closer to the neck (reversed compared to the 89)."
