    So earlier this year I bought a Dimebag tribute guitar from Gary Holt, built by Tom Smith. Had Kent over and he helped me put in some pickups in it.

Best overall guitars I've played are the underrated BC Rich Warlocks, though I modify all of them to my liking. To me they're well balanced like Fender Strats, not too bulky, easy to play on either leg when sitting, the pro's of them are numerous to me.

    • @LysergikFuneral
      @LysergikFuneral 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm unfamiliar with his builds, and this one looks nice from the front. But I kind of think it's a piece of crap. Bolt on neck, ugly seams on the back and the trem block sticking out? You get better quality on a $500 Chinese guitar. No wonder Gary sold it.

    • @DoubtingThomas333
      @DoubtingThomas333 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LysergikFuneral slim line bolt-on necks are fine, and from a modification and utility standpoint, I'd say they're better overall than neck thru or one piece designs (heck, Yngwie Malmsteen uses a bolt on neck Fender Strats). The seams on the back? You mean the wood being stained/sealed a bit darker for the electrical hw covers?
      Trem block would have been a stock block (you can buy different sizes, someone here commented about where you can buy different sizes), who knows who actually put that in after Gary Holt bought it, probably been mucked around with...and seemingly an unfinished project since it wasn't putting out any sound when Ola got it.

We shouldn’t have to route the pickup cavity on a brand new guitar to fit very common pickups. And its a very small amount.

    "Yeah yeah" Kent, love that guy! Also, I think SD should send you a Jupiter 6 to put in that guitar.

    TwSmith is legit. The guitars he makes for his son are badass! I might even order one

    Gary had a garage sale last weekend. He was selling some stuff for his move to his new house. I was gonna go but I had to work.

    Dimebag played with alot more finesse. He didn't try to play too hard. He was a natural.

    That’s a great guitar. Even better once you swapped out the EMG’s. I had EMG’s in my Schecter that came stock. They were ok. First time battery died it was during practice and I didn’t have any extra batteries. I went and got a Seymour Duncan 59 and Black Winter and swapped them out. So much better

    Great stuff!
    That red pick-up might be cool in that black guitar. It will look like a black widow. 🤘🏻🎸

    Hey @Ola Englund I hope your having a wonderful day! 😃 I was watching your Heresy by Pantera cover. I was wondering if you would post a guitar lesson on it, when I watched the video you said you'd have to be a member to be able to find a tab or lesson on your channel. If you can't I understand I was just hoping for a more explained lesson of it. Thanks so much!
