2008 Harley Sportster Nightster XL1200N.
Bught it second hand and tweaked it to my own likings.
Mod list, so far:
Hydraulic clutch from Random Engineering
Billet triple trees from The Speed Merchant
Satin black powder coat on frame, swing, forks, foot controls...
Texture black powder coat on engine covers
Harley texture black spray paint on engine case
Hammer Performance 1250cc upgrade, jugs, cams, pistons
Chopped cam cover, struts and rear fender
Removed front fender, belt guards and a ton of plastic
Team Dark Custom design by myself, painted by Tect Airbrush

Man nice ride! Man I just can figure why Vance And Hines put the O2 sensors where they did. Why would you want it sticking up like that?? I bet the pipe drags the first time you turn right. The RSD Tracker exhaust would look Rad! Your bike is sweet man... You going to ride it?

Honestly I've always hated Sportsters...until a guy at my job picked up an 08 Nightster. Then I immediately fell in love. Now I own a 2000 xlh 883 Hugger, came with the 1250 kit, S&S cam, Super E carb set up. Getting ready to do some major customization to her this winter. Next win5is the engine rebuild, 100hp minimum lol.
Your bike is one of the cleanest, well planned and sleek rides I've seen in a while...beautiful.

Yes, all plastic covers removed.

Nice job on your nightster ! Not my style but anyway nice bike .have my 09 nightster set up like a flattracker which the the suspension, engine ,pipes,steering damper etc.all have been reworked for that type of riding style for me .the low n no suspension had to go lol
If yer guns raise the tank that's the way the wires should look underneath it, nice!

I realize this video is pretty old but could you do a video on where you hid the wiring that is behind the engine? Also the wire loom that runs down the down tube, I watched your older video and only the clutch cable was visible. I would love to clean mine up more.

Like it but I liked it better the first time I saw it and it was called the 48! Really that's all you did was make a 48 with a bigger tank. The Nightster deserves to be a staple in the sportster class. Never to be made to look like something beneath it. Still beautiful work.
Sorry mate, but this has never been a 48. It's a Nightster and always has been. 2007 XL1200N.
Appreciate your view, but the things that defines the 48 for me is the peanut tank, the wide glide trees and the fat 16" front wheel. This bike has none of those things, so I have to disagree :)

Not sure what you mean, my struts are completely chopped off, so I don't have any strut covers...
at 2:30 chopped fender struts "garage made". So theyre completely chopped off?! its looks so clean!!

jonni de matteis No, you can change exhaust and air filter independently. To get the most out of it you should have it tuned though.

I am wondering how in the world did you clean up that mess behind the rear cylinder??? I need this done on my bike, the look kills me!
Don Danos : I rewired the whole bike, some wires through the frame, some underneath the tank. ECU in the battery compartment.
@@FJoberger did you have to cut and slice any? I seen you have a ballistic battery but they are out of business now. I wonder what other batteries would work? Thank you for the reply and real good looking nightster you did a good job for sure.
@@truetrades7056 Using an AntiGravity battery now. It's doable by just extending one of the cables going to the lower front of the engine, don't remember the sensor now, but if you want to make it nice and tidy a bit of cut and splice is needed.

Mitch H By using a smaller Li-Ion battery there's plenty of space to keep everything in the battery compartment.

+Aleks Palencia No, not much to sell, didn't change that many parts between version 1 & 2, mostly framework n paint. Changed chin fairing because I broke the old one.
i just wanted to tell you that your motorcycle is an inspiration to me, and i moded my nightster almost equal to yours (well trying to) i've already bought like 10 items of your mod list and hopefully get it near as beautifull as yours ...currently im doing the internal wiring and upgrading the rotors to 13" and the calipers but shit there expensive but im saving my money and buying one part every 3 weeks but eventually get there. thanx for the inspiration dude .
+Aleks Palencia That's great to hear! And yes, the PM and RSD stuff is not cheap, but if you can afford it the quality is definitely worth it.

brother, with the fork covers whats the diameter of the pipe you used ?
40 inside, 45 outside. Powder coated them and put one wrap of electrical tape on the inside for a tight fit.

Awesome. It took a while to find the right piece. Its coming in the mail. I have a feeling the 48mm might stick out over the triple tree ...
