We all have different taste but I find the bursts not spectacular and would prefer unicolours. Necks look fabulous and I do like the tiny block inlays. It's hard to judge the sound of the pickups on YT. They seem ok. I predict tough competition for this PJD line. Prices are in the range or close to Suhr, Friedman, LSL and the cheapest Xotic, which brands will keep a better resale value, I presume.

Nice to see some UK built stuff buy by eck they're dear for what they are.
If they were hand cut/routed and shaped (like other smaller luthiers shops who ultimately cost less) then fair enough but looking at the website they're anything but, a more accurate term would be hand finished which lets face it every guitar on the market is to a certain degree.
I'm not saying they're bad, far from it seen some locally and they look top notch just far too pricey for what they are.

  • @jameslewis2635

One thing I think PJD have got right, the best way for a guitar to arrive is in a shell case. All the paintwork looks pretty stunnig along with the grain on the necks although I would be more interested in the St. John. Regarding the back covers, I understand why they can be a bit of a pain but the guitars look unfinished without them. A bit like the manufacturer got so far and said 'good enough' rather than completing the instrument. Personally, I think the best way is for there to be a removable plate which is held on with magnets making it look good and easy access at the same time.

So not that long ago on this channel you explained what a Busker is. Here in America, in places like New York City they are always called Street or Subway Performers. We call our underground train system as the subway, not the tube. To show the influence of this awesome channel, a popular American magazine just did an article on a "Busker" who is apparently some sort of virtuoso. While I had never heard of the word before, and I know for a fact nobody here used it before a few months ago, I've been hearing it more and more. But to hit mainstream US media? That's a wide sphere of influence, indeed. I say it all started with the Captain explaining what a busker is, here on this channel. Because while Americans travel like everybody else, we pick up absolutely nothing from our surrounding. Most of my countrymen in Europe right now are in a McDonald's...

Where's your £3,000 going when you buy one of these? It's as much as a Martin 28 nowadays and nearly as much as a Lowden and they are premium acoustics and in the case of Lowdens have quite intricate carvings for the tops. These are basically Strat copies; the basic design R&D was done 70 years ago, yet the company that did the R&D charge half or only 2/3 as much.
