The blessings of the water is fascinating to me. I want to experience this more. So cool the way the Orthodox have that reverence and appreciation for nature and even learned from the Natives how important that is..👍🏽🙏🏽❤️‍🩹

I was blessed to be able to listen to Father Michael Oleksa talk about Native American Christian Orthodoxy, when I took a trip through Messiah College to study sociology in Alaska (2006). I was trying to remember his last name earlier today! lol.
This man is an absolute blessing.
Thank you for posting these videos. I am grateful for the wisdom shared.

Parishes in Winnipeg MB cuts crosses into the Red and Assiniboine rivers. -40°c, -50 or -60°c with wind, still cutting crosses in the two rivers.

I've often wondered for people like Alaskan natives or even Mongolians who survive almost entirely on animal products, how do they keep the fast? Like are there special regulations for them based on the fact that they can really grow produce in those locations?

You should do a video on what America has to offer Orthodoxy. Most of the time, Americans develop a serious inferiority complex in Orthodoxy. They convert or become a catechumen and all they can talk about is the superiority of other cultures and how awful their own culture is.
Ethnic Orthodoxy is often a way for rudderless Americans to gain a culture that they believe they never had :/

As an American convert to Orthodoxy, what you describe is exactly how I feel.

@Rob Joe Amen! I couldn't agree more. Let's stop idolizing wealth and political power. Let's stop polluting the atmosphere with carbon dioxide for the sake of GDP growth.
