      One of the best TH-camrs doing a review on the phone. Honestly every other one ignored the 8k or they never went into detail. You have provided examples and zoomed in on the footage… Which is CRITICAL! That’s when you can see the resolution difference (If you don’t have a 8k monitor). Thank you for the review.

    for anyone wondering, in the camera assistant on the s23 ultra, you can check a box to apply less sharpening to all photos in general. it really allows you to get the pixel bending benefits in the 12mp mode with the natural sharpening you see on the 200mp mode

      @@aexetan2769 I tried it and seems to work, I find High a little too much, and Medium a nice middle ground, so I'll keep it at that... I tested it with a photo of a cardboard box with white stickers with letters on it. Off is too sharp (white haloing around black letters) and High is like I said too strong (1 step further and you'd think it's out of focus) so again Medium is where it's at for me 👌

    I'm not sure you've talked about it, but there's an option to "turn off" the sharpening in Camera Assistant (an additional settings tool that you may have to download, it's a Good Lock module)
    You can change this as well as the shutter speed and even force the phone to use the appropriate zoom lens in low light instead of cropping in 1x or 3x

      @thenative602 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Man thank you so much ! No one is talking about the over sharpening process so it seems like people like it but I absolutely hate it especially on indoor photos.. i just gave it a try on medium and high softening and now it looks how my eyes see the world!
      Edit: so after many tries this works but the result depends of the scenario, portrait shots get worse if softening, indoor shots and outdoor especialy with trees (living in the woods here) look much better in my opinion. So this has to be toggled depending on what i want

    After watching a number of reviews, yours included, as a Galaxy S9+ user, I’m so glad I didn’t make the jump to the S22 series last year. Definitely gonna be upgrading to this generation when those sweet Amazon deals go live in the months to come. Hopefully I can secure a 512GB S23U with a final price of $775-850, shipping and taxes included. A serious bump in specs with an unnoticeable loss of 20-30 ppi. 😂
    UPDATE: What a good time to be a Prime member and cardholder because I just purchased the S23U on Prime Day (July 11, 2023) for a reasonable $725.17, beating my lowest price prediction by approximately $49.83! I enhanced the deal even further by utilizing my Prime credit card, netting me 10% cash back (5% base + another 5% for the product being “Climate Pledge Friendly.” As a result, I had plenty of credit leftover in my $1000 spending limit to buy a 25w charging adapter and a pack of screen protectors, which alone netted me 5% plus an extra 1% for Prime Day. All in all, I believe this is the first time in my life in which I bought something that netted me 10% in cash back! Definitely looking forward to being part of the Ultra family!

      Don't want to mention who in case I'm advertising in some unacceptable way, but if you have an old Samsung galaxy, you get a $1000 credit with some phone plans with a specific provider. I'm trading in my s7 I just had in storage, which the website said was worth $35 lmao, and getting the 23U. I'm not usually someone who mentions deals, but I'm stunned this is available. Again, its specific to one provider with only some plans, so that is definitely limiting who can access the deal, but if anyone is eligible, you should look into it.

    One additional aspect in wich OneUI is miles better than anyone is multistasking. Very good, comprehensive and organic to use - You could even favorite a duo of apps (trio in the Folds). Specially combined with the transference area in the Samsung Keyboard.
    PS: that Ultra, by the size and box shape, must be an amazing ebook reader.

    This was by far the most in depth, informative, straight to the point and well thought out video on this phone I have seen. And I got this phone 2 weeks before the release date so I've watched probably 5 thousand videos on it. Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into this video it it is very much appreciated. I'll tell ya I've never been much of a phone guy. I've Always just needed and used my phone for work and when I got home it would get plugged in and left on the counter till I left for work the next morning. This phone however has been glued to my hand for the last 3 weeks lol. I am all of a suddenly a photographer and vidoeographer lol. This phone is also amazing for everyday tasks at work like swapping my pen and small notebook for the SPEN and samsung note were I can have hundreds of notes at my fingertips all organized and easily edited at anytime. There is just to many things that this phone does to benefit me at my job and personal life to write about here. If you are someone who isn't hard-core about your phone and you get this one you will be. I would always poke jabs at my wife cause she never puts hers down but now I can no longer continue to do so lol. I had the S21 ULTRA before this so I will say that for anyone in the samsumg galaxy family looking to upgrade there phone this is a no Brainer and I would highly recommend pulling thre trigger on this one. Thanks again for the video. hope everyone has a wonderful day:)

    Most insightful and useful review of the S23 Ultra cameras that I've seen yet. I'm a pro photographer, and I often use my smartphone to line up shots with my Canon R5 or 5D4. I find the later Samsungs great for this, with its different lenses. I can quickly evaluate the whole scene and get a good idea of the focal lengths that will work best on my full size camera.
    Because the phone is so maneuverable and the visibility with the big screen is so good, I sometimes get my best composition with it! However, the image quality is usually disappointing, and I could not feel good about using the image online.
    But as you point out, the S23 Ultra, with its new 50 mpx capability in Expert Raw, promises to deliver nicely detailed, and much less oversharpened images. With this, serious photographers may be able to, in a pinch at least, actually use a smartphone image for public display! Thanks again.

    Love your video.. I was thinking about upgrading from last year's model.. reviewers were mixed in their reaction.. you made it clear.. thanks to you, I'm getting the s23 ultra.. yay..
    I just wanted to know the DEX experience.. can you maybe make a video about the same? And how it differs from the exynos and sdg1 s22 ultras? Thanks

      Just notice that in 10:47 that stability is not normal in the s23 ultra, I have seen many comparisons and it has to be more stable, Something's wrong..

    Thanks for the honest review. I think I'll follow through with my plan to keep my S22 Ultra for as long as I can. As appealing as the performance upgrade is, it isn't enough to be worth the cost as I'm an unlocked phone user.

      S22 Ultra is too similiar to the S23 Ultra. Dont change it. I have the S21 Ultra on the otherhand and will get S23 Ultra as they are two years apart.

    I have a Huawei P40 Pro and I prefer 3x optical zoom rather than 5. You won't lose much quality when zooming 3x+2x digital, and 3x is good for near objects which I mostly do. S23 Ultra is my next phone, hope to get it soon.

    I feel like my next phone will be a Samsung S22 or another one. The last phone in my household which had a pen was a Samsung Note 8. Whenever Ella reviews her tech, she always uses it in ways that I would personally use it if I owned that piece of tech, I love that, she gives a real life application to the tech she's reviewing, I love that. Keep up the awesome work Ella @Created by Ella 👍

    You did a good job showing the phone off in the beginning of the video, better than most reviewers imo. Also, I forgot that when you take out the s-pen to write a note, the default color is the same shade as the back of the phone.

    Actually the Ultrawide camera does have a new sensor, as it is using the IMX564 instead of the IMX563.
    Edit: I previously stated that the new sensor had OIS, but that appears to be incorrect, so I've removed that reference.

    • @aexetan2769
      @aexetan2769 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Citation needed. Are you sure the IMX564 has OIS? According to the specs, it does not.

    • @bjn714
      @bjn714 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aexetan2769 I appear to have been misinformed on that portion, as I went and checked a teardown video which does indeed show that it lacks OIS still. Regardless, it _is_ a new sensor, but it's not vastly different from the previous one. I'll edit my original comment to remove the reference to OIS as it does not seem to be present on the wide camera sensor.

    • @aexetan2769
      @aexetan2769 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bjn714 It's probably a minor tweak over IMX563, as the main specs are the same on both the S22/S23 Ultra (12 MP, f/2.2, 13 mm, 1/2.55", Dual Pixel PDAF).

    my 22 ultra changed my mind about how bad android sucks. I find I use it so much that I actually installed airmessage just to use it as my single texting platform (mostly because iphones keyboard really does suck since ios6) Sammy has really done android well and that camera can't be beat, certainly not by my iphone 14 pro. Already ordered the 23ultra, which is fine, because now my pants are balanced with android and ios on opposing pockets..

    How much better is the battery life compared to the LG V60?
    On heavy use my S22 Ultra can only do about 5-6 hours at 80% brightness, at FHD+ 60Hz I get about an extra 30 minutes. My V60 can do 9-10 hours which is still awesome.
    I was going to upgrade to an S23 Ultra but trade-in offers sucked compared to last year...Since I still prefer photos taken on the V60 not to mention the speakers are also better, I just started using my V60 again with way better battery life to boot.
    So how much better is the S23 Ultra compared to the LG V60 in terms of battery life?
