when there are long straightaways like this track, it's vitally important to get on the gas as quickly as possible and minimize wheel spin in order to get ahead of the speed curve. our boy steve still brakes a tad too late so he's at maximum traction all the way around the corner until he straightens out at the opposite curb. if he'd brake a tad sooner his tires would be under maximum traction, so he'd have some extra grip to use to accelerate out of the corner as soon as he rounds the apex instead of waiting to straighten out. you can hear his tires squealing all they way around the corner whereas in the replay the faster car isn't.
@@oldfrend the top ghosts brake later than I do. It's more down to tidiness on the way in, getting closer to the walls and getting on the power earlier.

Speaking from the experience of doing well over 100 laps of the Nordshliefe in a (stock) GT86 trying to set decent time-trial laps: Even if you throw the lap super early in, you should always complete the rest of it, because otherwise you start getting weaker and weaker on your ability to do, for example, sector 3, while your pace (and consistency) in S1 (& S2) gets better and better, which ends up resulting in you dreading (and often going slower than much earlier runs in) sector 3 and often bottling it there too. It means you end up spending a lot of time trying to go fast on laps that won't be worth anything, but it does mean that when you get a solid first half of a lap there's significantly less chance of you throwing a good lap because you lack the same level of experience of doing the other half of the lap.

Tried to build my own 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk before they started making them. Bought a wrecked Challenger 392 with major side-panel damage for the engine swap, and stopped short of a blower, but then again, at the time I didn't know Mopar would put a Hellcat powerplant in a Grand Cherokee a few years later. So I don't have the blower-whine, but it's still better than the original 4.7 sludge-factory mill it came with.
The problem with Gran Turismo is that the 3rd person camera and the hood camera are both very static, don't move at all, even a slightly bit during acceleration and turning, which makes it very difficult to properly gauge turns effectively. I mean if the purpose was to make the game more realistic then making the camera so static is not a realistic feature because in real life the driver slightly turns their head towards the turn. If the developers could fix just that issue than it would been the greatest racing game out there.

Lool
So glad to see you are a human and it takes days for you to perfect your time just like for ordinary me jumping at A and A+ back and forth.
Me: Staring at all the walls.
Nicely done! The biggest difference I noticed between you and the #1 ghost was on corner entry your trail braking maybe could have been smoother leading to a faster exit? Better than I can do either way though.
Amazing time, I couldn't get even below 2 mins... But I got the game since March :D
14:52 I just realized that tires in gran turismo sound like screaming people running out of a house thats on fire

His heart is on Kart racing over gaming these days. I don’t blame him, new Gran Turismo game needs to hurry up.
@9:00 on that last exit, if you slowly come out of that corner and let the car pull to the right and hug the right corner, I bet you'll cut off some seconds
This made my day
Legend keep at it! Did good mate
I keep getting flashbacks for the amount of times I pressed restart🥴
Those red times made me insane the whole time
Tried to build my own 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk before they started making them.
If this were me I'd probably be in the 2:10's lol
The problem with Gran Turismo is that the 3rd person camera and the hood camera are both very static, don't move at all, even a slightly bit during acceleration and turning, which makes it very difficult to properly gauge turns effectively. I mean if the purpose was to make the game more realistic then making the camera so static is not a realistic feature because in real life the driver slightly turns their head towards the turn. If the developers could fix just that issue than it would been the greatest racing game out there.
Can't believe the Olympics are sponsored by Danny Dyer
The wawl lol
This brings Back memories, i competed in the 2013 Gt academy, those were good times, unfortunately i don't play gt anymore.
I think the description is off, Steve. Unless it's a joke or something.
It’s a joke he’s being sarcastic 😂
Its ok he mistyped 30 dont worry about it
@@matthewmcewen1 It's been changed. It was something about Forza Motorsport 7 before.
@@nantokairuman ah kk
Very entertaining to watch this. Fantastic lap there in the end nonetheless!
I love this track but that last corner is as difficult as living in Mars without equipments.
Excellent video, really feeling the process it was to set a great lap.
Thumbs up!
So they finally got auto racing in the Olympics at least 🏁🏁🏁🏎
Except they got gran turismo, they could've gone for a better game
@@daifuku9320 Forza would be hilarious. Imagine the crashes

@@daifuku9320 would iracing have been better or something else
@@laarval it would've been amazing, either that or rFactor lol
i was expect you to grind this event to death but you just casually sunday drive it and thats what i love about you dude . shame they do not giving metals for 6th place xP.
They should have done more tracks. Using one track to determine qualifiers are ridiculous.
You guys do realize that half of the true racing world can't even talk and drive without fucking everything up. Props to you for doing it, while on such a hard track
having just qualy laps to make it to the olympics is stupid. everyone knows steve has the best race pace in the world. there should've also been a qualifying tournament as well.
0:54 Harry's ksi exposed diss track music😳
Sometimes if I'm burnt out on Time Trials, I'll go do a race or two, then come back to the time trial and end up being faster. Been into racing games since the first GT and its almost always worked for me!
Get in there Lewis miracles do...ah erm. Maybe next time.
But seriously, great effort. Crazy times by those super fast racers.
15:16 sounds like me starting to study sometime after midnight before my finals.
I like these types of videos, it’s relatable because I do the same thing trying hours and hours to perfect a lap
First video of super gt I ever watched. Really enjoying gt7 bc of it now, good stuff.
"i don't think i'm in the right frame of mind to be setting world record laps............ nor do i have the talent."
lmao.
Super GT so good at banishing people to the shadow realm that he got confused and banished himself to the pit lane
i’m not into cars or racing in the slightest but your videos are really entertaining honestly
Personally I think the tokyo walls are more anguishing than nurburgring but I enjoy the nur's feel of it better than any of the other tracks. Kinda want to rebuttal about the whole online function being needlessly tedious but hope I don't deal with the nukey's who just intoxicate games like gt, forza, or nfs. (Yes I hate em for their incompetance the moment you out race em, so irritating to deal with e.e) great job on pushing yourself super and gl on your weekend and future contents
this reminds me of years ago when I used ot race in the world racing series, same laps ove ran dove ran dover, then you'd watch the "top tier guys" and they'd be like 1.5 seconds ahead ... and their replays just looked so freaking CLEAN ... and yet "how the frik are they that much quicker???"
