    I write the hours/mileage and the date on the filters when it’s changed.
    Video was helpful. Made it look much easier than a lot of people show getting those fill plugs out.

    Great video. Thanks for the step by step instructions. My Hustler is past due for the 100 hr maintenance. Bought it used, so no owners manual. I absolutely love this zero turn.

    bought my fastrax SD in 2008. commercial use for 7 years. use synthetic oil in engine and drive motors. still using it for myself and my grandson is using it to mow neighbors yards to save up for his first truck. it still has the original battery by the way. take care of your tools and they will take care of you.

    Good that you write down the hours, date, etc. when changing the filters, fluid, etc. because that is what I do myself. 👍
    Though if you read the manufacturer’s owners/user Hustler manual, it states that the initial Hydraulic Fluid should be changed in the first 75 hours or 1 year whichever comes first…after that then it’s every 200 hours or every 2 years….whichever comes first.

    • @Michaelsbackyardmarina
      @Michaelsbackyardmarina  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's if you use the factory fluid, I use the full synthetic stuff and you can go much longer according to my Hustler dealer that I purchased it from.

    • @mrc1737
      @mrc1737 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm 🤔
      Exactly what brand, manufacturer, etc. of fully synthetic fluid do you use?
      What about the filters used?…same brand, different, etc.?
      Also how long have you been using fully synthetic fluid?…..How much longer, time wise, are you talking about?….more than 2 years?….3 years?….4 years?.…etc.
      Thanks for posting!👍

    Great video. Thank you. I have a 2015 Fastrak per the first two digits of the serial number. The plug on the transmission on mine requires an allen wrench to remove it and not a regular wrench. Just wanted people to know not everything is exactly like the video. Yours may have a variation.

      Yes my Hustler Raptor Flip-Up has regular box wrench style nuts for the plugs and only 1 Hydraulic Reservoir exposed right behind the left side of the seat…..though on my neighbors Hustler Fastrack SD his has the allen wrench style plugs and 1 Hydraulic Reservoir under the seat…..so yes there are slight differences but basically the same concept on changing the Hydraulic Fluid.

    Hello Michael, I changed my filters and oil today and the business I bought the parts from gave me 20W 50 four cycle motor oil, not hydraulic oil…I’m guessing that is not the right oil, as the mower won’t budge….Please give me your thoughts on this.

    • @gfoust69

      if you look at the manual for the newer Hustlers, they state to use 20w 50 in the hydrostatic transmissions

    Are the reservoirs at the same height as the oil level/top plug in the drives? So when it starts running out the top hole on the drive the level in the reservoir should be on the mark?

    Is it actually necessary to change the gear oil on a hustler zero turn if so just how often. Because the gear oil coming out of this mower doesn’t even look dirty Motor oil I understand

    • @Michaelsbackyardmarina
      @Michaelsbackyardmarina  ปีที่แล้ว

      you don't want it to look dirty, that can cause premature wear, follow the manual for the hours and change off all oils.
