    If you could answer, how well do the Emit 10s perform at lower SPLs and how well do they do voice as well as piano? As long as they make piano sound more/less realistic, I can give up a bit of resolution and detail, although the micro detail is nice to have once you have heard it. I have Focals now but want something smaller and have heard Monitor Silver 100s (too much, got fatiguing, though I liked it with some music) as well as Dali Oberon 1s (liked them, a bit less dynamic than what I have now and and just a bit too laid back), for comparison. Also looking for a more holographic, deeper stage. I use both a Hegel h160 and a Keces e40. Thanks for any input.
    I would say the important factors are low SPL level playing without sacrificing details too much, separation and stage depth. I can give up some resolution and a bit of details.

    • @nc3419
      @nc3419 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well.in my space and on a Hegel, these provided a solid, dense midrange, at least part of it. Some of the upper detail in mids and treble appeared to be absent. The bass was loose than I expected on the new model, another minus for me. So between a dense but still unnatural sound and loose bass and lacking detail or too subdued which is on the source material made me pass on these. Sounded a bit hollow wrapping on the side wall as well. Perhaps the Evoke series is where one should start?

    Classical music than DEEP PURPLE; your my type of reviewer! A lot of reviewers fail to mix genres of music so no matter how passionate they are, the reader is still mystified. Your review was explicit giving me a good indication as to the capabilities of these speakers. Despite the reasonable price of these speakers as to the sound quality one gets I understand to make them sing one needs a quality amp, a little bit like ATC speakers (which need quality and powerful amp).

      Following this excellent review I contacted Dynaudio to ask what the minimum impedance of the new Emit 10 & 20 was I could only see the nominal figure of 6 ohm listed
      They have replied , it's 4.8 for the 10s & 4.9 for the 20s & said this should be sufficient for my Marantz PM6005 ( 45 wpc 8ohms / 60 4 ohms ) amp adding the caveat - "depending on listening habits & room acoustics "
      I was surprised at the bass coming through on the 10s demo here although as pointed out its utilising a much more premium amplifier . Having now seen the 10s in a shop ( unfortunately not set up for demo as I was just passing ) surprised just how small the cabinet is . I think I would need the 20s for Rock & Pop but agree with you either would sound better with an amp upgrade 👍

      The 10’s were toed in, the 20’s required a bit more.
      Length of listening position has to do with on/off axis response and room
      Reflections etc..
      Altering toe-in fundamentally changes the relationship of the direct and reflected sounds in the room. More toe-in reduces the level of early reflected sounds from the lateral side walls. Less toe-in increases the level of reflections. Toe in also changes the amount of high frequency energy above
