I really enjoy experimenting with all of the new cellular trail camera technology. Every year more and more cellular trail cameras come to market. Different features, such as megapixel size and video resolution and then artificial intelligence incorporated into the apps is improving all the time.
Is this one of the best cellular trail cameras for 2021? In this video I take a look at the new "Delta" Moultrie Camera as well as the much improved Moultre mobile app. When i first noticed the Moultrie Delta Cellular trail camera the first thing that stood out was it's 32 mega pixel image sensor. As well the advertisement said that it would transmit high definition videos right to the moultrie mobile app so you can view or download to your phone. Then when I clicked the link on the advertisement I was shocked by the inexpensive price of $99.
At this price point it puts into the competition with the spypoint link micro cellular trail camera as well as the tactacam reveal cellular trail camera. Since the tactam reveal cellular trail camera is considered one of the best cellular trail cameras it puts the moultrie mobile delta in with some elite company.
The Moultrie Mobile Delta Camera so far has worked well. I've made a few mistakes since I've done the Moultrie Mobile unboxing and really started to learn about the Moultrie Mobile app and best accessories to use with the camera.
A couple things I've learned about the moultrie camera is you need to have a full size SD memory card in the camera. I had a mini sd card inserted in the moultrie delta cellular trail camera and the camera was not working properly at all. From the infrared sensor to the modem inside the trail camera nothing seemed to be working.
When I started working through the moultrie mobile app I noticed they have added a lot of new features since I bout my first moultrie mobile MV1. Now there is A.I. that can detect different species of animals as well as different genders of deer. You can change the amount of megapixels taken by the cameras as well as the size of the video resolution. You can format the SD card manage your memory and you have GPS on demand.
The set up of the moultrie mobile Delta cellular trail camera was very simple. I simply scanned the barcode on the inside of the trail camera with the moultrie mobile app and it automatically brought up a menu to set up the trail camera.
The camera does not work unless you open a cellular plan through the moultrie mobile app. When you do decide to cancel the plan the camera will not work after that not even with the internal SD card.
When it comes to the plan it's pretty straight forward with some added features. If you have multiple cameras they have a less expensive rate than most other plans. But for most of us that can't afford multiple cellular trail cameras one camera with an unlimited plan costs $20 a month. This allows unlimited photo transmission and you get 50 video downloads a month. If you go over your video downloads you can buy more downloads separate from your regular moultrie mobile plan.
As far as competition goes the moultrie mobile's closest competition is the stealth cam fusion x, the tactacam reveal cellular trail camera and the tactacam reveal x cellular trail camera. The spypoint link micro is in the same price point but lacks a lot of key features that the moultrie mobile delta, stealth cam fusion x and tactacam reveal cellular trail cameras provide. This could be the best cellular game camera for the money.

SPYPOINT is poor and inconsistent for me
I own two of the deltas. I must say I have spent more time in the woods retrieving them to fix problems, changing out batteries also. I bought them because of my budget. I really tried my best to honestly give them a fair chance. They are now back home in there boxes to stay. I own many other non cell Moultrie cameras and love them but the deltas I do not like. Im sticking with my spypoints for now.
Yeah I’m not buying another one of these. I have a couple tactacams about the same price and they work flawlessly just haven’t gotten around to doing the review yet
The delta camera overall is great but what you touched on the transition between dusk and dawn gets whiteout pics for a few minutes, they are supposed to come out with an app update to fix it shortly I was informed. Let’s see how quickly..
Moultrie updated the camera and they have no more issues at dawn and dusk

I’m not 100% but I think it’s just a class ten. It’s a stealth cam sd card. It doesn’t say u3 on it anywhere
Hi I just purchased this camera in case I don’t have good cellular service, can this camera can be use just like a regular camera? Meaning take the card out the camera and download the video and pictures on the computer?
No u have to have service for camera to work unfortunately

You buy the cellular plan in the app it does not come with the app

Hey I'm looking at buying either this camera set up or a spypoint. Although I've been told that on the spypoint plans, you cannot have multiple cameras on the same unlimited plan. Is that true? Is the Moultrie setup that way?
Unless they have changed their plans that is correct-ish. You can not combine cameras on the same plan but you can have cameras on the same app. Even with this camera you are combining the plans at a lower cost but it really doesn’t pan out unless you have 3 or more on one plan.

Can multiple people login to the app? Such as I have it on my phone (owner) and my hunting buddy can pull it up on their phone with my login info?

My top two lights are flashing yellow like yours were, how long did it take for them to turn off and go all green? Or what did you do to fix it?
It seems to have a really REALLY long boot up time so far I just have to wait I haven’t figured out any kind of fix for the issue

Didn’t take any pics all night and it still says the time when I set it up yesterday on that app. Idk what it’s doing, it worked at home the night before after I did some stuff to it lol. No where says what the two lights blinking means, that’s what it’s doing

So if i want to know about a hog it want send pictures?
It will still send pics of the hog there’s just no filter for hogs so when you were looking through your photos and you only wanted to see some pigs then you wouldn’t be able to filter them and only see pigs. I have not used the defender pro I have used the 850 defender and the quality on the camera is great but I have know experience with browning cellular cameras

How do you watch the video once it is downloaded?
Once it’s downloaded it should show a play button and then the video will play when you click on it. But it will show the downloaded video on the same thumbnail as the picture you requested from. If that makes sense but it won’t show up until the camera has made a connection with the server again.
You can’t even use this or access the camera without paying monthly ? No wonder moultrie is struggling so bad. They won’t be around much longer

Simply said unfortunately this camera in my experience has been a piece of work. Dead straight outta the box even spypoint didn't have this many issues
Hi Josh, how long did it take for the video to be transmitted to the app? And then for you to download?
It usually takes two transmissions from the time you request it but once it’s on your app you can download it instantly
When you say 2 transmissions, what if the transfer frequency is set to “immediately”, should I receive it within 2 transmissions even then or it might take an average of 24 hours?

Having the same issues with mine. Videos are decent but not the best. My camera even stopped working for a couple of days then started sending pictures again. The photo quality is horrible no matter what megapixel you set it on
@@KK-hy6sx moultrie stated the cam would update automatically. over the holiday weekend one delta i have stopped transmitting pics for 3 days, had to pull it and reset. had 3 bars, was working good for 2 weeks and stopped.
I’ve learned that the cameras I have facing East and West are the ones at dusk and dawn that have the white out problems. So I am going to adjust direction to see if that fixes the issues. The others facing north and south have no issues I’ve noticed. Worth a shot!
Worst camera ever, great customer service, but the camera just plain sucks… and all I ever was told was it’s a firmware issue. After two months… nothing.
I set everything up everything was perfect get out to spot signal was trash worse money sent there at cabelas now on sale do urself a favor don’t buy this camera
These are junk, I have two. Running moultri batteries with moultri SD cards. The picture quality is terrible and the motion detection is terrible. The camera is easy to use but the app crashes and there not even a 3 burst mode? It has a “3 trigger” but it don’t even take 3 pictures.. lol JUNK
Worst cellular camera on the market. Do not buy. I have one you can have if you come pick it up. The xv and xa6000 is twice as good but I just upgrade to the cheaper and incredible bushnell cellucore 20.
