Good video just one thing to add about safety is to remove negative side first and when installing negative is last, owner's manual should state the same info.
If you remove the two nuts on the terminals and the bolt that secures the battery to the vehicle then you could pull the battery from the vehicle and clean the battery in a plastic bag or on some newspaper so that when you are done you dispose the corrosion particles in the trash. Baking soda neutralizes the corrosion but you have to be careful not to get it into the battery itself. Once outside the vehicle you can brush and wash with just water and get the battery clean. This way the corrosion doesn't eat at any if the metal in the vehicle. Happy Motoring.
What I do is put balking soda an water is a spry bottle and spray that on battery corrosion It is much quicker, neater and easier. I keep this spray mixture with my other automotive supplies for use whenever needed BTW most of the time the cables do not need to be disconnected as they still have a great connection .
All those corrosion cleaning videos are useless and for temporary results only. happens because the poles inside of the battery are Brocken or cracked due to hammering or inappropriate one wrench loosening and tightening unprofessional maintenance.Once you see this type of corrosion it is time to replace the battery. Big fat period.

Its extremely important to rinse the battery base cause you don’t want the corroded liquid coming out of your terminals to soak your battery base it could damage the battery overtime and the battery base
When you poured hot water over the baking soda on both terminals, the water flooded the entire surface. There seemed to be no short circuit as the both terminals were essentially in the same pool of water. Wasn't that baking soda water conducting electricity ? Or, was it an isolator ?
If it’s the battery terminals then you might need a new battery but I doubt it will eat thru the post. but if it’s the cable connection just replace it.

I highly recommend Ncp2 battery corrosion preventative spray from Walmart and distilled water
Part of my terminal broke off at the bolt and now I can’t get the bolt that’s connected to the wire off, any help

People who invented the battery knew that it rains out ! So yea battery’s ,tires, fan belts all that stuff can get wet

you can apply petroleum jelly over those terminals and there will be no corrosion

Yes. Yes, there was a short circuit
A puddle of water bridging the positive and negative will have a short circuit, although minor voltage drop. Just be quick and wipe away.
What if the terminals are completely eaten thru by the acid?
If it’s the battery terminals then you might need a new battery but I doubt it will eat thru the post. but if it’s the cable connection just replace it.

yeah, you just neutralized the acid / killed that battery...
Actually, the baking soda did nothing. It was the hot water that did the work. Just use very hot water. Don't believe me? Just try it.
