  • We ride an epic mountain pass off-road on a BMW gs adventure in Colorado. I believe Ophir pass is part of the Colorado BDR.
Part 4 of the Colorado 2020 trip!

This is awesome. The music, and the f-bombs made it real dramatic.

Wow. Great video. Very brave. So cool how everyone seemed to help each other up there. Legendary BDR pass.

Ophir is known for the big rocks on Telluride side. The route the guy told you to go Cinnamon pass was the right route. Those big rocks on the 1200 is a lot to handle. Nice job getting down. ;-). It is amazing how helpful Coloradans are. Great people!

You get such mixed info, so many people say ophir is easy, I wouldnt call it easy, but it was worth it! Thanks for the comment!

Yeah, Ophir is pretty easy in a Jeep with 4 wheels but the Telluride side has all of those big rocks and it makes an easy ride in a Jeep to a not so much fun ride for a big motorcycle. Really enjoying your videos.

Reliving Rodney's greatest hits! I can feel the tension on the long downhill on Ophir. On a naked GS it's not so bad but with a full BDR load out it can be absolute terror...good stuff!

Thanks brother, all the traffic sucks in those moments, always having to stop makes it more difficult.

Gutsy tackling those steep rocky downhills on a GSA. Great video and riding.

Great video! A few years ago, my buddies and I started out from Lake City and headed out over Cinnamon Pass. Originally, we were thinking of taking Engineer Pass, but a local jeeper recommended cinnamon pass first. Going up was not a problem, but the loose rock on the downside towards Animas Forks caused just about all of us to drop our bikes. We were cautioned against taking Ophir Pass toward Telluride based on the steep switchbacks on the way down into the town.I'd still like to spend a week or two out there just riding up and down the passes to get some practice and soak in the amazing views.

Rode the TAT summer 2021 and did a few of the CO passes. I found the descent from Ophir pass to be the most difficult part of the entire TAT trip. ROCKS!

Awesome vid. Very edge of your seat with that music well done. Most people who add music set it too loud compared to the rest of the video. And it's weird every time I cross the berm in the middle I go down.

What brand is that white camera attached to your helmet? How do you get such great audio quality? Do you have a separate mic setup? Great video, thanks!

Sigh. Work required me to move from there. Working an angle to get back that way in a few years.
And @7:00. Yeah, that's my nemesis lately. Downhill and very rocky. Got my @$$ kicked last weekend by that. Going to take some confidence rebuilding. lol

It does require some confidence-building running around that area!

@@MobMoto I could certainly agree not wanting to live there year-round. I just prefer to go there for playing. I prefer to move back to Denver myself. Although California has kind of got my attention right now. going to keep watching and enjoying the videos you're making of your trip there. If nothing else it gives me something to look forward to for my trip this year to do the Mid-Atlantic backcountry discovery route.
