Developed a slow leak from just one rear spoke on my two year old KTM 890 Adventure. The gasket looks perfect. However, I suspect slight separation at the air valve grommet on the tubules bladder. Really impossible to detect cause of leak. Was yours a catastrophic failure of the bladder at the grommet ( valve stem )? Any idea what cause separation of the metal grommet from gasket? So I am going with Outex tubeless system. Thanks for sharing.
I lost air rapidly out on the trail, and the tire went off the bead and ripped the tire gasket. So it’s really hard to tell what happened. I have 50,000 kms on that gasket so it was probably due. I’ll check out Outex! Thanks for watching.
As you know that KTM tubules gasket is tight as a drum skin and takes a gorilla to pry the beaded edges out of that groove. Moreover, the air valve is independent of tire. I am inclined to believe the rubber gasket bladder failed first. If you don't mind, I'd like to post this on one of the KTM 790 Adv. wheel and tire thread to share.@@adventurod
Rocky Mountain ATV sells a Motoz tube 4mm with an offset air nipple.. not cheap $80 but will save you on the trail if you need a tube
@@BradleyKivett Thanks! Super helpful.
Nice vid !
How old was your gasket ?
I know they recommend replacing those every 5 years
@@SBMotoZ 4 yrs, but my tire came off the bead going pretty fast and tore the gasket
Convinced me to keep my tubes.

@@greatfallskam share it. The rip in the gasket happened right at the valve stem. In fact the metal ring was completely detached.
I use tire soap to install. Probably a waste of time but I also used 100% silicone on all the spoke nipples.
🤣 you have the soft metal
Probably easier to pop a conventional tube in there
I like the design of my Aprilia, off setting spokes for tubeless tires
Wonder if a small roller would make pushing that strip in easy
@@ianparkes4452 maybe???
