    I dont know why, I've watched a ton of hikaru games, but wayching him play on a board like this makes me realize just how scary he must be to face. Literally like a human computer who makes perfect moves in an instant.

    There had to be a time handicap if they were tied on time at the end. At no point did Hikaru spend more than a second on any move, while his opponent stopped to think for a few seconds many times.

      If you look closely you'll see that at the end Nakamura takes away the small bill his opponent bet but leaves the bigger bill that he bet. A quiet move, but very powerful

    Incredible game by both. Their speed is amazing. Hikaru missed a fork at 3:54 to capture the rook but I could only tell going through the game slowly.
    That South African played great! Cool that Hikaru went and played there!

    here are some chess tactics that you may have missed: 3:31
    Ne2 flips, knocks the rook, and comes back. This is a deadly maneuver all chess players should master.

      Yeah, it's a tough one, though. If you don't stick the landing the move is invalidated and you have spent the flip on one of your knights without gaining anything - as you can see in the video.

    At 1:33 Hikaru actually blundered his bishop. After white moves knight f-5, black moves rook b-8 leaving his bishop on d-6 hung. He immediately sees his mistake and after white fails to capitalize on it, exchanges on his next move. Could’ve been a very different game . . .

      angelandsoul Soul I agree he was indeed pretty good, but it's just that I didn't want to use anything inappropriate such as "amateur" or "inexperienced". You just took what I told in a wrong way. Also, to be honest, even though he may appear to be holding on pretty well, to a Super GM of Hikaru's level and experience, he must have been in a dead lost position since many moves ago either strategically or tactically. I never meant anything bad against him as I personally felt that he was quite good, but it's just that I was seeing it considering a world class GM's level. So you need not be so rude, and in fact, it is you who needs to see things from a different way rather than having a fixed, negative way of seeing things! So hope you yourself do not come under that "99 percent of the viewers of this video".
