The speed after the queen trade is insane! Wonderfully played by both sides!
Not for me
@@speed999-uj5kr didn't ask
Did they snort it?
All I saw was Rugby
To hold his own against Naka for as long as he did is worthy honour.
That’s the cringiest shit I ever read

@@connorgillispie7128 I think it's quite safe to call you a racist cumbag.
They're are black grandmasters. I like that you proved to be a moron in the comment section of a chess game. @@connorgillispie7128
@@connorgillispie7128 Wait actually? lmao
But that African player is actually a very good player himself. He probably knows who Hikaru is at that level
He's Johannes Mabusela and has a FIDE rating of 2270 in blitz
Yeah, he was only down a couple pawns there before the endgame. Very respectable showing to say the least.
Like every shitty hustler he tries to cheat at 3:33 and play stupid about it
@@cliffordclark4048 It was an obvious slip and he lost time in the process. Johannes Manyedi Mabusela is a South African chess International Master and FIDE Trainer. So he is no weak player.
No kidding. I've seen Naka wipe the floor with GMs. He did well.
Holy crap! Chess hustler put up a better endgame defense in a OTB time scramble against Hikaru than 95+% of the professional chess players 😂.
Well it was too many pawns down so basically resignable position but yes he played better than the titled players😅😅😅😅 the guys definitely got skills
@@chess919 Really? There was so many blunders from his part, losing too many pawns for free and poor positioning. Blunders rook at the end too
Hikaru was playing instantly, so I assume he had terrible time odds
Cause the professional player see that their is no win or draw and hence they resiy
Dude chess hustlers are fking formidable, completely different game/style altogether
2:47 "I don't like this", "why, who are you?" lmao.

Very African thing to say
😂 yes I heard it it's a movies by itself
Did you notice? Hikaru only took his own money.
good man
looks to me that he put out more than the hustler and left the hustler with the bigger bill
He left chip for the next game.
He place the bigger value bill and took the lesser value bill after the match.
Hikaru is a nice guy
That hustler was pretty good taking the gm to end game like that
Agree I would be lucky to last 10-15 moves against Naka.
Yeah and that speed too, its amazing. He did knock over a couple of pieces but still he is pretty good
I dont like this
That endgame was nowhere near even. Just because he didn't mate him in 10 moves doesn't mean it was a close game
William
He was playing against one of the world's best blitz players.
There's no way you know chess that well and don't know Hikaru. This guy deserves his credit for taking the challenge. He even put money on beating Hikaru for content, that's actually insane.

Who was this South African hustler? He's awesome but nobody cares to mention it. Yes Nakamura beat him but Nakamura is a human blitz AI machine only equaled by two other GM's in the world.
He would destroy you at chess any day. And you know that loser!
I am defending a talented South African chess player who took Nakamura to an end game at lightning speed. So i would guess he's 2200+ elo rating. Maybe you should retract your unkind words because YOU are very unqualified to do so.
Go away kid. You're bugging me now.
Yes the African guy was real good, but he made me laugh when he started knocking pieces over at end. Good but not professional like naka
Thanks soddie pops. So he's an IM. I guessed he was 2200+ by his moves and speed
2:46
- I don't like this
- Why? Who are you?
LOL I'm dying
The best part 😂
Di a fea ted😂
I dont know why, I've watched a ton of hikaru games, but wayching him play on a board like this makes me realize just how scary he must be to face. Literally like a human computer who makes perfect moves in an instant.
Very impresiive. But I was most impressed by Nakamura reaching for the new queen after the promotion it`s like it was on his mind all the game and the piece just materialised in his hand.
It's hard to believe how fast Naka plays.
I don’t like this
why...who are you?
I clearly don't like this
don't say it if you can't say it
He was referencing the player with the white pieces ;)
hahahaha
Naka took the money that he put in bet, the other player doesn't lose money (min 4:27) and won a big experience with a god of blitz chess!!
Look again. He took the money that the other player bet and left him the smaller denomination.
naka put in MORE money initially, he took the smaller bill so the guy he faced actually made a profit from his loss. What a standup guy
he put 5.5$ (blue bill 100 rand) and took 0.5$ (green bill 10 rand)
cmon guys what he left is down for his next game betting cycle
That last moment when nakamura pockets the money...😂
hahahah sure
That was pure gold 😂😂😂
the way he lifted that cash you can tell he's done that before 😂
He can't be disrespectful not taking the money or they will cut his fingers.
beautiful
There had to be a time handicap if they were tied on time at the end. At no point did Hikaru spend more than a second on any move, while his opponent stopped to think for a few seconds many times.
He almost always plays with a handicap vs non gms
My guess 5 to 1. EDIT: Just noticed the video is 4 and half minutes long. So more likely 3 to 1! 😄
Also he let the hustler ge away with some illegal moves xD
Like when he moves the king two squares in one move in the endgame xD
@@EmilTorgenah I was thinking the same but watching closely they seemed to both be acknowledging the other's move before making their own and Hikaru moves two pieces by the time he picks the king up two squares away
@@AlphaChopstickthey wanna put down the hustler so bad

this guy is probably around 2100-2300 ELO if i had to guess. very good!

My country man held his own i thank him for representing us this way
4:15 that was beautiful
My fav part was 2:29
Where he's all "shhh, don't talk anything" 😂😂😂
As a South African, English is not our home language mind you, I don't find anything funny about this, he is trying to communicate rather than speaking in his home language and you should be grateful for that.
What is funny is how he all of a sudden wanted quiet, when he was chatty as hell while he still thought he stood a chance. Even says something like "thank you, well played, but now I can execute my plan" (paraphrasing).
The fact that it's not gramatically correct doesn't matter, it's just flavor.
@@observemudau
Also, they said it's their favourite part, how is that negative?
English is not my home language either by the way, it's basically my third language. Just sayin' 😅
I now see the irony in that you didn't understand what was funny.
This is a some sort of fallacy.
@@EmilTorge that is not the player talking.
Actually Hikaru put in R100 and at the end took the other R10 for winning. So the loser won R90. A clever way of being kind.
POV: Someone doesn't like your food
"I dont like your food"
"Why? Who are you?"
Great to see Naka hanging out with fans, this was awesome to watch
Trying to hustle Hikaru at chess is like trying to beat the devil at the casino
Hikaru put the bigger bill down initially but took the smaller bill, kind man
That's big money for us. 5 bucks he put on the line
Hikaru destroyed the "I don't like this guy". It's fascinating to see hikaru spotting all the tactics for both sides within a second
Hikaru didn't give him the money he left it for the next game,he did however give the guy 10/1 odds as he put down R100 note and the other guy R10 note.
I love all the noise and excitement around them, no idea how they focus but amazing atmosphere
Holy sh*t, hustler was no joke! That was a knock down flat out brawl.
Yeah! This is either Providence Oatlhotse or Johannes Mabusela, both of which are 2200+ ranked IMs - putting them down as "hustlers" seems a bit ignorant, but it doesn't make the game any less legendary.
I would not be able to play with all that noise. That’s a skill in itself.
Hikaru should fire his travel agent.
XDXDXD
Amazing experience meeting people from a different culture while also having a chance to make a few bucks off chess hustlers... but they're black, so you don't like it. Nice dude.
This is 2018, no one uses travel agents
@Xaxa xa Not really. The person who commented first probably developed a bias against these countries and subconciously its people. You trying to condemn the fella who replied to him would just encourage that bias to flourish in the first person's mind, that's worse than anything else you could do in this comment section.
@@DanielRepasky
You just assumed he is racist, you are totally sick. You would tell otherwise if the hustler was white so you are the racist one.
"Can't catch these hands!" - Hikaru, Probably
The speed at the end, my son plays like that too. Except he's 4 and none of his moves are legal, but it all looks the same to me.
When the chess game so lit the pieces are falling over when they make moves

That speed in the end was savage
One reason people might not be that good at chess is all that constant background noise.
Omg! Those hustlers should be in Olympiad. A good dog fight at the end. Great game by both.

That queen fork at the end was nasty! I hope he didn't lose too much money :(
Coffee Chess Oh you guys!
If you look closely you'll see that at the end Nakamura takes away the small bill his opponent bet but leaves the bigger bill that he bet. A quiet move, but very powerful
Didn’t loose money naka pocketed his own money only
woah it's coffee chess!
That was only 110 Zar total which is around 5 dollars US
He put his king in the wrong space when it toppled over taking a pawn..
Incredible game by both. Their speed is amazing. Hikaru missed a fork at 3:54 to capture the rook but I could only tell going through the game slowly.
That South African played great! Cool that Hikaru went and played there!
Betting on yourself winning in chess is not gambling, but a profession if your name is hikaru.
I hope someone caught that guy ringing the bells and rung his bell with a good right hook.
Hahahaha
He made it to an endgame with Hikaru. He blundered his rook and lost too many pawns to get there, but he lasted longer than most would
That hustler is da legend.
Nakamura is enjoying himself with that smile.
here are some chess tactics that you may have missed: 3:31
Ne2 flips, knocks the rook, and comes back. This is a deadly maneuver all chess players should master.
Yeah, it's a tough one, though. If you don't stick the landing the move is invalidated and you have spent the flip on one of your knights without gaining anything - as you can see in the video.
:D
The guy from S. Africa was really good but Hikaru is on another level.
ridiculous he just knows how to move pieces . Hijkaru is indulging the local tribe. Carlsen would never do that sht.
He put in 100 for the bet but when he won he only took the 10 that the other person put in
Notice that Hikaru threw down far more money than his opponent, and when he won, he only took his opponents money and left his bet on the table. Hikaru is super classy.
Beautiful game from Hikaru taking a dry looking game and capitalizing on his opponent's lack of king safety to destroy his pawn structure, then win his pawns, then simplify down into a winning endgame.
Wow the people in the background are incapable of shutting up.
what did you expect. Look at them
That smile when he grabbed the money hahaha nice one idol Hikaru
He grabbed the lesser money of the two, left his own there
the African guy has an amazing resistance in endgame.
3:34 Dude thought his knight was a rook
Dude though his knight was a spaceship
he put 5.5$ (blue bill 100 rand) and took 0.5$ (green bill 10 rand)
Madness begins at 3:45
Bruh stole the whole village worth of money
He actually didn't. He took his money, 10, and left his own there which was a 100 note
this speed is amazing, had a hard time keeping cause they was knocking shit over the whole time
We all knew the winner before the first move. South African held up pretty well
At 1:33 Hikaru actually blundered his bishop. After white moves knight f-5, black moves rook b-8 leaving his bishop on d-6 hung. He immediately sees his mistake and after white fails to capitalize on it, exchanges on his next move. Could’ve been a very different game . . .
Haha blunder bishop yup. So white take bishop and checkmate lol
Nxd6 Qxb2 checkmate. Good game. Care for another one? That's why the guy played Rd2, defending the mate, instead of taking the bishop.
lol GMs don't blunder, they sacrifice.
The laughter lol, these guys sound like they are having the best time
Naku is like: wtf am I doing here?
pawlakppp playing chess. Your welcome
Actually, Nakamura said in an interview that he loved playing street chess in South Africa. All the kibitzing and side chatter reminded him of his early brawler days in Brooklyn.
Naka is like, "Now I know why Paul McCartney has security guards."
That dude had no idea who he was playing.
God Naka's speed is just unmatched by anyone. And he is also a good person at heart as he is even willing to play these "not-so-strong" players! This is why EVERYONE loves Naka! Way to go Naka!!
Aaromal R.S that guy was pretty damn good, he hung with naka and didn't fall for any big tactics! Much better then 99% of the viewers of this video!
angelandsoul Soul I agree he was indeed pretty good, but it's just that I didn't want to use anything inappropriate such as "amateur" or "inexperienced". You just took what I told in a wrong way. Also, to be honest, even though he may appear to be holding on pretty well, to a Super GM of Hikaru's level and experience, he must have been in a dead lost position since many moves ago either strategically or tactically. I never meant anything bad against him as I personally felt that he was quite good, but it's just that I was seeing it considering a world class GM's level. So you need not be so rude, and in fact, it is you who needs to see things from a different way rather than having a fixed, negative way of seeing things! So hope you yourself do not come under that "99 percent of the viewers of this video".
At the end his opponent had 8 seconds and Naka had 9, so I'd say he pretty much matched him on time even though he lost.
these guys he was playing must be at least 2200+ in blitz, at least the ones that were filmed.
Chris Iver Yeah I agree they are pretty good though.
Best chess hustler video I've ever seen. Wonder what his elo is. Has to be low-mid 2000s for that endgame...
