I’ve seen Jimmy live a couple times whilst living in Karratha WA and he was amazing! He also met with people prior to his concert ( small mining town) he is an amazing down to earth person

Barnesy is one of my favourites singers of all time, one of the few artists that get me going upon hearing his voice.

The Living End is an Australian punk rockabilly band from Melbourne, formed in 1994 Since 2002, the line-up consists of Chris Cheney (vocals, guitar), Scott Owen (double bass, vocals), and Andy Strachan (drums). The band rose to fame in 1997 after the release of their EP Second Solution / Prisoner of Society, which peaked at No. 4 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. They have released eight studio albums, two of which reached the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart:

Always loved this song and this version with the Living End is the best for my money. In regards to Living End tracks, hard to go wrong with any but Prisoner of Society, All torn down, White Noise, Second Solution and Roll on are a few of their classics.
One I only just recently heard myself was a kick-ass version of Tainted Love, now that is a MUST listen to lol.

This is one of my favourite songs by Barnesy from his solo years but I didn’t know about this latest version so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Loved it! That’s not his son but the lead singer Chris Cheney of The Living End. I really dig their song “White Noise”.

You would of seen his son playing the drums in the stone cold reaction and his daughter with backing vocals. Very talented family.

Sick, i think i recommended this for you a while back, great song, i saw Jimmy about a month ago, hes doing a 30th annaversary tour of his Soul Deep Album, Suported by his daughter Mahalia and her band was an awesome night, Jimmy is like a fine wine, just gets better with age. Living End are sick, first time i saw them they were supporting the offspring, first time in a mosh, life changing for me. i see you have done Tainted Love, Some songs id recommend, West End Riot, Who's Gonna save us, second solution, All torn down. another great aussie rock band you should check out is Grinspoon.

Lay down your guns is a Jimmy song from very early 90’s.
I’m sure The Living End would have done a great cover but there’s no way you’d give up this opportunity.
For the Living End, check out Prisoner of society

I know Jimmy has a home studio ( or he used to) he lives in my home town - some music he records at home. And I think one of the studios is in the US that a few songs are done in (by watching a video of one of their US recording trips) - This song has been out a fair while this is just a later version.

This was recorded at Jimmy’s home studio. He is singing with Chris Cheney from the Living End who is a close personal friend of Jimmy and they perform a lot together. Check out White Noise from the Living End, this is my personal favourite from them.

I believe this was for his 30/30 Hindsight album, this was his 30 biggest song's over 30 year's. He invited other singer's and musisions to play, sing on the album.

I saw Jimmy in Melbourne this year.
I've always said their isn't a singer anywhere that puts in like jimmy.
He still goes so hard it worries me he might hurt himself.
I grew up in the seventies and saw cold chisel many times at my local pub in Melbourne. Way ahead of their time.

Hi mate, lay down your guns was a massive hit for jimmy way back in 1990, it is from his two fires album, maybe check it out and compare the two.

He did the 30:30 hindsight album back in 2012, I think the original idea was for this to be a tribute album where bands cover one on his songs but jimmy being jimmy couldn't just sit and watch so he decided to sing with them, its a fantastic album

One of my favourite Jimmy songs as well. Lost count how many times I’ve listened to it. Didn’t look like Jimmy’s son Jackie, Jackie’s main instrument is drums but he can, of course sing as well. No that other singer definitely wasn’t Jackie James Barnes

First of all, I LOVE this song! It rocks so hard!!! 😃🎸 Like someone else pointed out, that's not his son. That's Chris Cheney, he's friends with Jimmy Barnes. He even visited Chris when he was in hospital because I had tickets to Chris' gig and he ended up in hospital and they replaced him.
If you're looking for songs with cool riffs, check out "Heatwave", it's got a great guitar riff. Or "Carry Me Home". You won't find any bad live performances. They're pretty fucking good as a live band!

Sorry not Jimmy's son but. The Living End are an Australian punk rockabilly band from Melbourne, formed in 1994. Since 2002, the line-up consists of Chris Cheney (vocals, guitar), Scott Owen (double bass, vocals), and Andy Strachan (drums). The band rose to fame in 1997 after the release of their EP Second Solution / Prisoner of Society, which peaked at No. 4 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart. They have released eight studio albums, two of which reached the No. 1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart: The Living End (October 1998) and State of Emergency (February 2006). They have also achieved chart success in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.
The Band was nominated 27 times and won five awards at the Australian ARIA Music Awards ceremonies: "Highest Selling Single" for Second Solution / Prisoner of Society (1998), "Breakthrough Artist - Album" and "Best Group" for The Living End (1999), as well as "Best Rock Album" for White Noise (2008) and The Ending Is Just the Beginning Repeating (2011). In October 2010, their debut album was listed in the book "100 Best Australian Albums". Peace out.

If you want to see him sing with his son look up Jimmy and David Campbell his son has a different last name because Jimmy didn't acknowledge he was his kid for many
From what I understand and his mum raised him by herself in Adelaide where I'm from and Jimmy came from
but they have fixed that rift and get alone fine now
I'm not sure about weather Jimmy and the mum are friends

Sorry mate but i had unsubscribed because everytime i checked your channel i wasn't seeing any new songs but for whatever reason i was watching another channel today and saw you had done this reaction. I was sure i hadn't seen it before and lo and behold, not only have you been consistently uploading but you've discovered more of our great rock artists (you will notice they nearly all have long careers spanning well over a decade and in most cases several decades) and so without any reluctance i'm back as a subscriber. Yes i watch other reaction channels but there is something about Southern Americans watching Aussie rock. I've been told by a few Aussies who have visited the US that the people of the South have a similar down-to-earth attitude. If i ever get the chance, that's where i'm heading. The Living End are another great live band from Australia...they are much more punk rock. I saw Jimmy in 2022 doing his (i think 25th) anniversary soul tour, and he performed non-stop for almost 3 hours, he constantly walked all over the stage whilst singing to ensure everyone got a piece of him, his gap between songs was about 3-5 seconds and he only left stage once when his daughter sang a song but halfway through he appeared just off stage and then came on and sang along with the backup singers for his daughter. Easily the best live frontman i've ever seen in person and i've seen Metallica 3 times and Soundgarden. The other singer is Chris Cheney, lead guitarist and lead singer but you should check out a duet between Jimmy and his son, David Campbell. It is uncanny how alike they are.
