I used this tutorial today for my Protege5. It was definitely good to know where the hidden door panel screws are. I removed the door panel and popped out the controls - without undoing all the screws on the backside. I removed the stereo speaker in the front corner of the window which helped during re-installation. Also, the replacement regulator did not come with a new motor, which lowered the cost a bit. It requires a torx bit to remove the the three cap screws that hold the motor to the regulator frame. All in all, a very helpful video. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you I cant say thank u enough!! This is the second time my window broke and I figured that if it's going to keep breaking I might as well save money and do it myself. Your tutorial is so clear and goes through it step by step!!! 😭😭😭❤❤❤❤😭❤ Thank you for taking the time!!!
Great video. Thank you so much! I noticed you didn't have/reinstall the air dam or whatever that clear plastic sheet with the gooey glue on it is called. I took mine off too as it was a pita trying to get it back on. Do you know if it serves any purpose? Anyway, thanks again.
Thank you! Your video helped me get my glass back up before the rains start again tomorrow. At 2:32 in the video you can see a twisted steel wire or cable. That is broken, or has come loose in mine. Is that part of the regulator assembly, or does it have some other function in the door?
Thanks for this. My 99 Protege which I don't really drive got hit by a basketball sitting on the driveway..... and the driver's side window just dropped. Now when I try to make it go up it makes that whirring noise and nothing happens. Since the car is just a 'showpiece', I don't want to spend to get a new motor. I just want the window up and for it to stay that way. What would you recommend ?
Fantastic video! Thank you so much! My son and I walked right through the install and we felt like professionals. five star video for sure!

I don't remember there being an air dam or any clear plastic sheet when I did mine.
It's a water barrier. Keeps water from coming in the car.
Very helpful video. Thank you.
Great video you made the job much easier.

You could try to put something inside the door to prop it up.
Im literally holding my window up rn please send help
Use the tape!
I just took off the entire door and unplugged everything. No need to undo the two panels.
