I’m a trumpet but I can appreciate a good flute, y’all are underrated as hell 😔 Edit: 2yr update but I’m happy to let everyone know that I’ve moved from only playing trumpet to the piano and the French horn! I’ve also begun to learn the flute on the side to fulfill my love for woodwind instruments, though trumpet will be my first love, the art of music is something I’m very passionate about and currently learning flute has been a wonderful (and difficult lol) experience :) ❤️

One of my favorite pieces she’s played on her piccolo is concerning hobbits (she has also played it on her flute but I enjoy it on the piccolo more) I don’t find piccolo’s annoying at all in fact I prefer a nice high pitched sound rather than low, though I could never discredit the lovely sounds of lower instruments :)
@@DameMitHermelin I know it's called pizzicato on the violin, when you pluck the strings. I thought here it would be called staccato, but then, I'm a pianist, primarily. Have been out of the flute world for a bit.
Very impressive. I’d call it more of a double tonguing technique. I can barley even double tongue myself. I manage to do it in some cases without trying to but this will definitely be a hard spot to learn. If I don’t get it by my performance I’ll probably slur it, so it’s not a mess 😅

High school was and is actually the biggest mood booster in flute I've ever had. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by good people. You could try again as always

I'm a saxophonist. So we lack alot of skillful etudes. So I use excerpts of this to practice altissimo and dynamics. Its a very good piece and I enjoy every part. Mostly the arpeggios.

I particularly love this one because it clearly showcases one of the flutes main traits- virtuosity. I love how there are still clearly melodic lines underneath all of the fast paced semiquavers. the cadenza is proving particularly difficult so far! I'm hoping to programme this as part of an upcoming recital, could you possibly provide me with a couple of sentences for the programme notes please? thanks every so much!
Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm glad you like it. Here is the program note (sorry it took so long to post): Fantasia Arabesque uses the Maqsoum, a Middle Eastern rhythm. The piece is an animated conversation between the solid, swaying Maqsoum below and a passionate melody above. It begins with short, gruff statements that open up into high, flowing lines. These lines frequently return back home to the doumbek rhythm, then arch back up in ever-increasing passion to a blazing finish.
SO COOL! I’m going to dedicate myself this whole year to learning this piece and show everyone that the underrated last chair flutist in hs band has some talent. If I make it far in the flute world it’s all thanks to you ❤❤

The staccatos and accents are so good. As a flute player, articulating short and accented especially in low notes is difficult.
