Indian govt has helped lower castes with the reservation quota in public jobs. Modi and the current president of India are shining examples that lower caste ppl can make it to the upper echelons. Modi is not brahmin and many politicians are of the lower castes. If caste oppression was really bad then 90 yrs ago then people like Dr. Ambedkar would not have been around.

Casteless Hindu’ is an oxymoron, an impossibility.
Especially an outsider becoming a Brahmin is simply not possible. Brahmins are born, becoming one is not possible. Every so called Hindu leaders knew that very well.
B.R. Ambedkar wrote: “The real criterion is not the wearing of the sacred thread but the right to wear the sacred thread. Understood in its proper sense, it may be said without fear of contradiction that the right to Upanayana is the real and the only test of judging the status of a person…”
According to religious texts, only Brahmins have the authority to perform the upanayana ceremony. Will they perform the upanayana sanskara even for Brahmin women or for new "Kar Vapasies" or Dalits? Answer is big NO!!!
Caste is the fundamental basis of Sanatana Dharma. It's birth based discrimination, inequality and hierarchy is the foundation for ideas like karma philosophy and rebirth to sustain those structures.
Without caste there is no Sanatana Dharma.
To eradicate caste, the root of this evil must be eradicated!
