No doubt darwin was highly influenced by indic thought. Bharat and west/Mediterranean had exchanges of ideas or even proper communication since time immemorial- first with greeks then with roman. With the rise of caliphate then with mongols/turkic tribes, this was stopped. West needed India for spice, so they got really better at sea-travel, though battles b/w spain+portugal vs arabic world for control of iberian pennisuala was also a big factor. On the other hand, Indian society matured and turned somewhat decadent and decentrialized. So when europeans re/discovered sea routes to India, they stumbled on the new world as well, thus named west indies. They had a sudden rush of both wealth and new knowledge. This new knowledge + printing press gave rise to protestant thought, which in turn gave rise to modern (western)science and its aversion to relgion. Trust me, as long as a religion is only descriptive and not presceptive, science and religion need not be seperated.
Always remember in most of the ancient Hindu books it's always says everything Indirectly/metaphorically. (like a clue/puzzle). That's where many people say it's impossible.

Its clear that sanatan dharma is made up of Science, literature, psychology, Astrology, etc. Its completely not a religion, its a way of life. I had learned how to live a life and tackle problems from Ramayan, Also learned about Politics from Mahabharat. I don't worship god, we have that freedom in our dharma, but i call god, when i need. Studying books is just my hobby, So i read many Science books, Encyclopaedias, Psychology books, Mahabharat, Vedas, Purana, Shri Bhagat gita, etc. Whats wrong in it.😂 I am living my life😊

Doesn't the existence of a Human king at the time Lord Vishnu took Matsya's avatar on Earth contradict the theory of evolution? Maybe we are trying to look at appropriation which is not needed and the ancient Vedic stories are much deeper than how the Western lens perceives them in the realm of logic which can never go beyond the 5 basic sense perception.
I am aware that Ancient Indian sages had a strong scientific approach, and we can find many concepts in the Vedas resembling modern science. However, when it comes to the resemblance between Dashavatara and Darwin's theory of evolution, I am somewhat skeptical. In my view, it might be a mere coincidence. Of course, opinions may vary.

As per Hindu scriptures and puranas in the creation there were these 7 Lokas inhabited by different species (owners of these Lokas). Deva, yaksha, gandharva, manava, asura, naga etc., Manava is Human and owner of Bhooloka (Earth) which lies in the middle of this stack all the Lokas in order. Here, Manava is owner doesn't mean only humans alone live here (All organisms found by default on Earth we now call them Earthlings are here). But if Deva or Asura or Naga come and live on Earth we now call them Aliens. As per the puranas and scriptures Asuras used to conquer other Lokas and only Devas had the capacity to stop them. Many atimes creator himself/herself has to intervene to settle the matter between them so that the order and creation itself is not damaged. Darwin's theory of evolution tries to explain how homo sapien(current day human including him) might have evolved and comparison with dasavatara ends with 5th or 6th Avatara. So we cannot equate it and say that what he said is as per Hinduism. He maybe be influenced with these indic concepts and nothing more. But one should understand in the context as per Hindu scriptures, time is cyclical and it is divided into yugas with millions of years divided among sat,treta,dwapara & Kali. We are living in Kali and Lord Krishna belongs to Dwapara yuga and with each yuga there will be destruction and majority of life of earth vanishes and new forms evolve. It is interesting to see Praveen Mohan's Prehistoric temples of India where he suggests that we might (today's intelligent human might have evolved as hybrid of Darwin's evolutionary human and Naga from naga loka).

The puranas were specifically written in story forms to convey these important knowledges to common people.. otherwise just bland facts would be too boring for the brain to retain, as everyone was not a rishi (seer)... maybe thats why the humans and the avatars were in the stories together.... rishis knew how to teach these concepts about astrology, evolution, planets, space, time, mathematics and what not in the most beautiful ways possible. Well the main reason behind adding human characteristics to the animals is because at that time when these texts were written it was very hard to preserve the scriptures upto future generations as most of the texts and knowledge could not get passed down because they are not famous among the people so the only way a text could survive is that if it had elements of Religious beliefs attached to it like some god so the sages who constructed these texts very smartly added Evolution and God Vishnu both to the texts so that this knowledge could survive and can get passed out throughout the generations

From my scientific temper and my being a Hindu, what I have come to realize is that the role of science is to push the wall between science and metaphysics (or philosophy), and science will never completely catch up since the progress of science has been very slow over the documented history of the last 2-3 millennia. In the meanwhile, it is important to note that the modern era of human existence is due to the rapid progress in technology (technology is applied science, rather than pure science). Spirituality will always be there since philosophy is the starting point of exploring the discipline of science. Now, Hinduism is not a religion per se. It is a standing body of ancient civilizational knowledge which our ancient ancestors very wisely documented and has since been very well preserved. Bharat is the only living ancient major civilization and gives a peek into the civilizational knowledge of not only Indians but also of other erstwhile civilizations that eventually got buried under the pile of history. Regarding the questions you raised, I will try to give you a satisfactory answer. Amongst all the Santana denominations, Vaishnavism is the largest (approx. 70%). While the other denominations (Shaivism, Shaktism, Smartism) focus more on spirituality by means of knowledge, Vaishnavism is more inclusive in its ways. Other than the path of knowledge, it offers paths of selfless social service and complete devotion as alternatives. For the path of complete devotion, all relevant knowledge had to be moulded through inspiring stories that would have be relatable to the masses. Thus human like stories had been introduced around the concepts to make it digestible to the masses who are unwilling to or incapable of treading the path of seeking pure knowledge. This is the shortest way I could put all my thoughts into one comment. There is more that I have analysed. Very willing to discuss whenever time, effort and opportunity permits. Just wanted to answer your question about pictures specifically and why there are human pictures in early stages of evolution theory? That's because those pictures were created in 20th century. Those are imagination of artist from what they perceived from scriptures which dates backs to nobody knows when which are just texts. Maybe if those artists didn't make any visual representation we might have imagined it a lot different than this according to current world and culture. There are multiple explanations on the topic available and I think this one was not the correct pick for it as I myself was not convinced by watching it. It feels that way because he directly compares Darwin' theory with scriptures. Darwin's theory was presented relatively in near past because of which it feels simple and believable. If we compare it to the text and description of ancient scriptures it will obviously feel farfetched as humans no longer have knowledge of the culture of the times, whatever information is out there is to the best of human interpretation and imagination. As he said in his video Darwin's theory only talks about biological evolution of species. The theory of psychological, sociological, spiritual and cultural evolution are not widely presented and when they are not accepted cause they don't have much physical evidence to back those theories like Darwin's theory has with many archeological findings and fossils of the life forms. There is no technology known to mankind currently to map out psychological evolution. There is much more I can talk on this topic but I don't think YT comment section is correct place to do so. Best thing we can do is debate, speculate and research. I hope that we all get good enough materials to research such topics and people be open to debate on them so we can get to know more about psychological and cultural evolution of human.
I could see the resemblance in a very general way and had noticed it when we studied biology and theory of evolution many years back . Just that the idea of the evolution as studied ,and theorized by Darwin, had already been observed or documented in story form of these generalized 10 steps through these avatars . Till date most people in India know the 10 Avatars,du to their culture ,because of the stories and the philosophy, and each stories,and each with a moral education is still tolled to children till date. So many things have to be demystified and explored further into these stories as times go by and more symbols will be recognized.

Every religion, civilization, community has a story of creation, transformation & end. In india to give a set of knowledge & skill to future generations we opted for a different way of story telling where moral values, spirituality, scientific knowledge, education system, politics, family values, societies, health & medicine, astronomy, predictions, governance, weapons, arts, sustainable life etc... We opted for this complex way of preserving because the ones who tell the story to future generations have to study properly & because of complexity no one can take it as granted and say some nonsense or change the story. So that every generation has to learn perfectly and convey perfectly and he is brahmin, a society to preserve our findings in a story. Because of this our culture survived.

The most beautiful thing about Hinduism is that it doesn't bind you to a belief. It tells you something, and leaves the interpretation upto you. You carve your own way to spirituality. I don't think science is copied from Hinduism, as saying this would be a disservice to the work of thousands of scientists over the course of human history. But I do believe that the stories told in the scriptures are not mere stories but are descriptions of scientific things told in a way as the people of those times deemed fit. For example, if a person 1000 years ago sees a modern airliner with it's thunderous engine noise and descending from sky, chances are he would be frightened and would take it as some sort of omen. Maybe even describe it as a god descending on fire and thunder. Who knows ?

These sacred text are written by the sages of India in ancient times and theycontain a lot of symbolisms. Hinduism is very complex in the end. Hinduism have libraries of sacred texts, a lot of which is not even explored yet. To be very honest, I hate it when somebody draws the parallel between religion and science theories. Theories which still lacks imprical evidences. Relationship with God is about devotion, love, trust and all the positive emotions, it is beyond realms of mind and matter.

I agree this was wishful attempt to link science with heritage. Bharat contribution was more towards astronomy, metallurgy , maths and medicine , . And I have hardly seen anyone coveing these ascpects , yes our documentations were destroyed and we for hundreds of years have been separated from the knowledge it's now going to be hard to relate , decode and present it properly .

U are right zuzanna, 10 incarnation of Lord Vishnu is not at all related to darvin theory. Because in scripture it is clearly told about the name of the kings and their paraphernalia in those days. Not only that darvin theory is a misguided one.
See dashavatar is just a way to tell about evolution but in matsya avatar manu was present who was human so it doesn't means or reflects that they have got their concept incorrect but these stories were just constructed to pass on knowledge of evolution in a form of story

I realised you have some doubts in this video about how The Matsya Avatar (which resemble fish) and human coexisted. Explanation is simple. Shree Vishnu 10 Avatars are definitely an echo of life and human evolution on earth but all these Avatars happened after homo sapiens were already evolved. One of the purpose of the Avatars in a particular sequence was to teach humans about the evolution till homo sapience. To understand the past and not to forget the root. However there are other theories. One concept is there are Mahayugas and 4 Yugas within each Mahayuga. Now some of these Avatars happened in different Yugas of different Mahayugas. This is fact. However if we simply count the years of Yugas within the current Mahayuga, then it won't add up, infact it would surpass the current timeline. Hence the theory of multiverse and come into picture. No doubt darwin was highly influenced by indic thought. Bharat and west/Mediterranean had exchanges of ideas or even proper communication since time immemorial- first with greeks then with roman.
With the rise of caliphate then with mongols/turkic tribes, this was stopped. West needed India for spice, so they got really better at sea-travel, though battles b/w spain+portugal vs arabic world for control of iberian pennisuala was also a big factor. On the other hand, Indian society matured and turned somewhat decadent and decentrialized.
So when europeans re/discovered sea routes to India, they stumbled on the new world as well, thus named west indies. They had a sudden rush of both wealth and new knowledge. This new knowledge + printing press gave rise to protestant thought, which in turn gave rise to modern (western)science and its aversion to relgion.

Its completely not a religion, its a way of life. I had learned how to live a life and tackle problems from Ramayan, Also learned about Politics from Mahabharat.

Doesn't the existence of a Human king at the time Lord Vishnu took Matsya's avatar on Earth contradict the theory of evolution? Maybe we are trying to look at appropriation which is not needed and the ancient Vedic stories are much deeper than how the Western lens perceives them in the realm of logic which can never go beyond the 5 basic sense perception.
I am aware that Ancient Indian sages had a strong scientific approach, and we can find many concepts in the Vedas resembling modern science. However, when it comes to the resemblance between Dashavatara and Darwin's theory of evolution, I am somewhat skeptical. In my view, it might be a mere coincidence. Of course, opinions may vary.

As per Hindu scriptures and puranas in the creation there were these 7 Lokas inhabited by different species (owners of these Lokas). Deva, yaksha, gandharva, manava, asura, naga etc., Manava is Human and owner of Bhooloka (Earth) which lies in the middle of this stack all the Lokas in order. Here, Manava is owner doesn't mean only humans alone live here (All organisms found by default on Earth we now call them Earthlings are here).
But if Deva or Asura or Naga come and live on Earth we now call them Aliens.
As per the puranas and scriptures Asuras used to conquer other Lokas and only Devas had the capacity to stop them. Many atimes creator himself/herself has to intervene to settle the matter between them so that the order and creation itself is not damaged.
Darwin's theory of evolution tries to explain how homo sapien(current day human including him) might have evolved and comparison with dasavatara ends with 5th or 6th Avatara. So we cannot equate it and say that what he said is as per Hinduism. He maybe be influenced with these indic concepts and nothing more.
But one should understand in the context as per Hindu scriptures, time is cyclical and it is divided into yugas with millions of years divided among sat,treta,dwapara & Kali. We are living in Kali and Lord Krishna belongs to Dwapara yuga and with each yuga there will be destruction and majority of life of earth vanishes and new forms evolve.

From my scientific temper and my being a Hindu, what I have come to realize is that the role of science is to push the wall between science and metaphysics (or philosophy), and science will never completely catch up since the progress of science has been very slow over the documented history of the last 2-3 millennia. In the meanwhile, it is important to note that the modern era of human existence is due to the rapid progress in technology (technology is applied science, rather than pure science). Spirituality will always be there since philosophy is the starting point of exploring the discipline of science.
Now, Hinduism is not a religion per se. It is a standing body of ancient civilizational knowledge which our ancient ancestors very wisely documented and has since been very well preserved. Bharat is the only living ancient major civilization and gives a peek into the civilizational knowledge of not only Indians but also of other erstwhile civilizations that eventually got buried under the pile of history. Regarding the questions you raised, I will try to give you a satisfactory answer. Amongst all the Santana denominations, Vaishnavism is the largest (approx. 70%). While the other denominations (Shaivism, Shaktism, Smartism) focus more on spirituality by means of knowledge, Vaishnavism is more inclusive in its ways. Other than the path of knowledge, it offers paths of selfless social service and complete devotion as alternatives. For the path of complete devotion, all relevant knowledge had to be moulded through inspiring stories that would have be relatable to the masses. Thus human like stories had been introduced around the concepts to make it digestible to the masses who are unwilling to or incapable of treading the path of seeking pure knowledge. This is the shortest way I could put all my thoughts into one comment. There is more that I have analysed. Very willing to discuss whenever time, effort and opportunity permits.

Just wanted to answer your question about pictures specifically and why there are human pictures in early stages of evolution theory? That's because those pictures were created in 20th century. Those are imagination of artist from what they perceived from scriptures which dates backs to nobody knows when which are just texts. Maybe if those artists didn't make any visual representation we might have imagined it a lot different than this according to current world and culture. There are multiple explanations on the topic available and I think this one was not the correct pick for it as I myself was not convinced by watching it. It feels that way because he directly compares Darwin' theory with scriptures. Darwin's theory was presented relatively in near past because of which it feels simple and believable. If we compare it to the text and description of ancient scriptures it will obviously feel farfetched as humans no longer have knowledge of the culture of the times, whatever information is out there is to the best of human interpretation and imagination. As he said in his video Darwin's theory only talks about biological evolution of species. The theory of psychological, sociological, spiritual and cultural evolution are not widely presented and when they are not accepted cause they don't have much physical evidence to back those theories like Darwin's theory has with many archeological findings and fossils of the life forms. There is no technology known to mankind currently to map out psychological evolution. There is much more I can talk on this topic but I don't think YT comment section is correct place to do so. Best thing we can do is debate, speculate and research. I hope that we all get good enough materials to research such topics and people be open to debate on them so we can get to know more about psychological and cultural evolution of human.

The most beautiful thing about Hinduism is that it doesn't bind you to a belief. It tells you something, and leaves the interpretation upto you. You carve your own way to spirituality.
I don't think science is copied from Hinduism, as saying this would be a disservice to the work of thousands of scientists over the course of human history. But I do believe that the stories told in the scriptures are not mere stories but are descriptions of scientific things told in a way as the people of those times deemed fit.
For example, if a person 1000 years ago sees a modern airliner with it's thunderous engine noise and descending from sky, chances are he would be frightened and would take it as some sort of omen. Maybe even describe it as a god descending on fire and thunder.
Who knows ?
Everything is taught in Hinduism by stories only ,they might be correct or not but what the lesson we learn shows that ,may be sages wanted to give knowledge to common people in term of stories they can understand these stories also are transferred from one person to other for a thousand years so they might be twisted but lesson remains the same,may it shows how evolution happened on earth,half human half animal avatar might be story but somehow it teaches evolution to common person of that time nothing is literal in Hinduism because it is more than many thousand year old way of life stories might be currupted

These sacred text are written by the sages of India in ancient times and theycontain a lot of symbolisms. Hinduism is very complex in the end. Hinduism have libraries of sacred texts, a lot of which is not even explored yet. To be very honest, I hate it when somebody draws the parallel between religion and science theories. I agree this was wishful attempt to link science with heritage. Bharat contribution was more towards astronomy, metallurgy , maths and medicine , . And I have hardly seen anyone coveing these ascpects , yes our documentations were destroyed and we for hundreds of years have been separated from the knowledge it's now going to be hard to relate , decode and present it properly .

U are right zuzanna, 10 incarnation of Lord Vishnu is not at all related to darvin theory. Because in scripture it is clearly told about the name of the kings and their paraphernalia in those days. Not only that darvin theory is a misguided one.

Greetings from India. I have been following your channels for sometime now.
I realised you have some doubts in this video about how The Matsya Avatar (which resemble fish) and human coexisted.
Explanation is simple. Shree Vishnu 10 Avatars are definitely an echo of life and human evolution on earth but all these Avatars happened after homo sapiens were already evolved. One of the purpose of the Avatars in a particular sequence was to teach humans about the evolution till homo sapience. To understand the past and not to forget the root.
So when Matsya Avatar event took place on earth, then Humans were already existing. As we read about the 10 Avatars - it teaches us about the sequence of evolution from fish to reptiles to mammals to homo sapience to intelligent humans. Now the 10th Avatar is yet to happen. It is said to be about more super intelligent human with most advance technology imaginable as on date. It is yet to happen and scheduled after approx. 427,000 years.
However there are other theories. One concept is there are Mahayugas and 4 Yugas within each Mahayuga. Now some of these Avatars happened in different Yugas of different Mahayugas. This is fact. However if we simply count the years of Yugas within the current Mahayuga, then it won't add up, infact it would surpass the current timeline. Hence the theory of multiverse and come into picture. Some claims (research is still going on) that these events took place in different timelines in different multiverses but it converged into shorter timeline in our earth. So when seen or experienced by humans of this planet, they experienced it in shorter span of time, but in multiverses these events actually happened in different Yugas belong to different Mahayugas.
