The The Mini BOSS lives again. I absolutely love the Losi Baja Rey. Looking at the Ford Raptor Rey next to the version 1 Baja Rey I would love to see Losi come out with a 2.0 version using the original body and make some updates making it a better option for people that can't afford a Traxxas UDR desert truck.
Part 6, complete and she's ready to rip. 10t pinion on 3s lipo is beast mode. Had to bust out another set of Carbon panels. Stay tuned for some full shreddy scale action with this thing, paddles mounted.

Big shout out to Cyconxc
/ @cyconxc
Cyconxc was a huge inspiration to get a rc trophy truck.
Just wanted to thank all my subscribers that followed along on rebuilding my old Baja Rey, it was a long difficult process but the end result speaks for its self. Thanks for watching and hit that Like and Subscribe for more RC scale builds.
Sup man the best content literally i cant believe how you make those clips awesome content. Really nice build been here since the beginning and it is a big journey. One question do you have any old body that you can donate or sell cheap cuerrently building a baja rey but budget is my issue. Cheers mate
@@davidvelazoco4186 Sup broskie, thanks for following along. I do have some giveaways planned and maybe we can work something out, stay tuned and thanks for the cool words.
@@DoubleClutchProductions thanks man
Awesome builds always! Love the mini boss you did, trying to currently get my raptor to that. Just needing to lower shock weight
@@Itsarealone 27.5 worked really well for scale videos and made a lot of body roll but it did not jump very well on lighter weight oil, just like Cyconxc says you set it soft for scale videos and a little firmer if you know you are going to jump big, thanks for watching buddy, I might have to rename this truck now the Mini Boss has officially been rebuilt lol, Thanks for watching @Cody Dillenbeck.
So satisfying with those decals👍👍
👍😎
Love the way those bucket lights look on the bumper 🤘🏼 such a great build 🔥
After this came out so good I picked two more Axial light bar kits, still thinking about throwing one on the roof? 🤘🏼
Sharpie pens, Dr. Pepper and zip ties, where would we be without them. lol
This has been an excellent video series. Thanks so much for taking the time to produce the series. Well done sir!!
lol thanks buddy
Amazing job on this build. Show & Shine winners along with the Robby Gordon baja truck. Going to watch this channel when I get home...bad ass builds
Thanks buddy, appreciate you following along, 😎🤙
Well this is a true inspiration for my Baja Rey
Thanks for watching 🤟
I just got a Baja Rey and u have taught me a lot of things about these just trying to source parts
Appreciate you watching and commenting. Glad you found some info and welcome to the Baja Rey family 👍
Such a rad ride! I can't wait to build a Baja Rey!
I have seen a few of your videos with your Baja and it looks awesome with those bigger wheels and sick paint job, respect from Oregons adventure coast.
@@DoubleClutchProductions Thanks man! I appreciate it! your vids showed me a lot about the baja rey and im stoked to have one now!
I just got one…. Damn G, I am blown away
Right on, welcome to the baja family bro👍
Very nice build! Absolutely luv it!
One of my favs thanks for watching 🤟
I really like your choice of music nice build by the way
Thanks Hayden, appreciate your support and stay tuned because we are going to be ripping this truck very soon. Appreciate you.
When will you do drop tests we’ve been waiting!!!
Moving sucks....
Such a bad a$$ build man. Your work is always crazy.
Thanks man, this is still my favorite rc and my first rc besides a crawler, pretty good for pushing 6 years old 👍
Awesome video good stuff on the build great job thumbs up 👍
Thanks 👍
Bruh , that tire growth when You spun her up was sick , and I'm A Pepper btw :)
I'm A Pepper too
That's badass bro!
I gave up on the stock shocks. Went proline,. Its like a new truck.
Keep up the good work 👍🤙
I went proline about 3 years ago and threw them in the garbage, the springs are not the rite strength to hold the weight of my Baja Rey, its over 1LB heavier than stock close to 1/8th buggy weights and those springs are designed for 1/10 slash type short course trucks, properly built Losi shocks have been the best performing for me and my terrain. Thanks for watching buddy.
@@DoubleClutchProductions I realized that through the stroke that they were binding. I found in my case that the bodies weren't true. (Stiction)
Funny you said that! Its actually my 1/8 kyosho springs that I am currently running. ( pretty much in stock form and 2s, proline hyrex .its also a rig that takes some discipline to control.
I am going to do the same and make some panels like you.
Keep it up, it's a cool rig.( I have to tell ya that I still prefer my UDR. The weight just adds another dimension. 🙂
@@madmaxximus1234 1/8 kyosho springs.... What color or spec, would love to get a set, I do like the UDR but I would get a 5ive T before I got a UDR, oops did I just give a spoiler alert? Stay tuned buddy and thanks for watching.
@@DoubleClutchProductions Springs are light blue, and I belive that they are rated as medium.
Springs were for the MP7.5. Kyosho part.
This is what perfection looks like💙
-i have my own idea of perfection and I'm building it based on the 1/10 king shocks baja rey. SSD, ProLine, GPM, ExoTek, HotRacing, CrazyRacer, RPM, WinterEvening Team Losi etc.. gonna be oh so sweet💙🤣
Appreciate it man, sounds like a stout build you got going, would love to see more and thanks for the kind words and following along. Peace.
@@DoubleClutchProductions thanks bro!💙
Looks amazing
Thanks bro it came out slick. Thanks for Subscribing and following along.
Looks sik m8. We can live. We can both live!
We are already dead, crash and burn!
@@DoubleClutchProductions crash n burn
Wow amazing 💯💯💯💯
👍
Great build! I'm interested to see the original Baja Rey body compared with the latest Raptor versions. This older one seems to have more wheel clearance or am I wrong? I know the latest body has problems with the tyres rubbing on the underside of the body.
Your 100% correct. The raptor is by far the worst, the f100 second and the v1 is the best for wheel clearance.
@@DoubleClutchProductions I hope that perhaps Losi will release some new body variants for the Baja Rey 2.0 in 2024. The price of the Baja Rey clear lexan body sets if you want to do a custom paint job is crazy!
@BlackSeaRC absolutely agree! Especially when the raptor body and f100 body legit only last one good running session before shredding themselves. Agreed!
Very nice 🆗👍
👍
Would it be possible to show the build off the suspension? I’ve been really struggling getting rebound and compression like that for my Baja Rey. I have proline shocks and desert lizard bypass shocks. Thanks in advance, build looks phenomenal and I’m jealous of the suspension.
Thanks for watching bud, Yes, just got all the parts needed to do a shock build/rebuild video, filming it later today actually and hope to have a video posted very soon.
epic
Thanks for watching appreciate your support 👍
And like new! A great job, but it's a pity to take it in sand and stones now. The thumb flies and keep on like that
I know what you mean its a shame this thing was built to destroy. Thanks @Maxee
@@DoubleClutchProductions ALREADY TRYED TO PROGRAM ESC? I have the impression that it cuts my power supply already at 3.4v and it is probably set to 3.2
Explain further, curious.
Awesome renovation and upgrades! Does the sound system survive the bashing, jumping and dirt thrown at it??
Still working great 👍
@@DoubleClutchProductions Cool! Thanks for your reply. Very much appreciated. Just got a new V1 "Rhino" (second hand) and wondering what to do with it.
Right on, I believe this ESS sound init is approx 8 years old now. Good units!
I don't know we could build with wishbone in front and live axal in back . I'm building this 1.10 thing I half built it got rear end and transmission . And w temp front end to test moter and transmission . I looks funny but cool
Just a trophy truck style setup, a arm with solid axles
Which Traxxas UDR Dampener did you use, the front one at 134mm or the back one at 160mm? If I am not mistaken the stock Losi is 140mm.
Udr Fronts 134mm. The stock baja rey rear shocks are 128ish? These UDR fronts are just a smidgen bigger as to not limit uptravel 👍
Thank you very much for taking the time to respond so quickly it is appreciated@@DoubleClutchProductions
@jacksloan3516 no worries dude, I am that guy too, just want like minded people to help if they can. Hit me up anytime 👊

BAD A$$ 🤘😎🤘
👊👍😎
We need those rear chassis braces!!!...looks sick though. So you have 20wt in the udr.. What do you have or planning on putting in the stock Shocks? Are the rear lower arms upside down... Thought the flat side was the bottom...
Lower 4 link arms, you know I searched high and low to figure out what side was the top or bottom, you could be right they may be upside down? I can't remember the picture I used for reference but it was from Horizon I think? If you know let me know so I can flip em lol, yah 20wt in the UDR fronts, figured as light as possible so the Losi spring can get ride height easier, I know it will jump excellent but I think it limits downward travel, testing will tell.
I think if you run the Lower links with the flat side down I think you limit travel cuz the sway bar sits lower in droop, I used the stock plastic lower trailing arms as a reference for height of the holes in reference to the ball end and shock hole, if that makes sense but I could be wrong?
I hear you on the braces, if I hand made you a full set, doors, roof everything how much would it be worth to you? Its about $25 for materials. I am not looking to make profit on the hand made stuff but you keep asking and I think it would be cool to make you a set.
@@DoubleClutchProductions I see what you mean. The hole in relation to the front mount is ever so slightly lower. So if it is your way, the hole is higher and in turn would give more droop. I think the stock Shocks are the limiters. the sway bar on mine is the limiter with the proline and flat side down... flic.kr/p/2kQoTFj
flic.kr/p/2kJhF53
Pretty much as far as it goes.
@@DoubleClutchProductions Ok...So after watching a few installs and some other pictures..it seems flat side up is the way to go. Just as far as function and aesthetics...flat side down makes more sense. I will have to switch em and maybe measure droop and see if it gets better. EDIT: Horizon answered me with basically "it should not even fit with flatside facing down" lol. So I guess im working on the baja rey tonight.
where did you get those carbon fiber plates BTW truck looks really good
I made them out of .60 Kydex/Holstex, I have a more detailed video on my channel Custom Carbon body panels check it out and tell me what you think.
th-cam.com/video/JVWc1Uv6aNU/w-d-xo.html
Those are front udr shocks correct?
Yes UDR 134mm
The V1 Rey models are and have always been better quality than the V2 models. Whether it be 1/10 Rock/Baja Rey or the 1/6 Rock/Baja Rey. Now mind you the V2 1/10 Rock Rey is now the Hammer Rey, but still the old one was better.
100% agree my dude, returned my hammer rey, first RC I ever returned actually. You know what's up my dude 👍👊
What shocks are you running in the front?
Stock shocks with v1 springs.
@@DoubleClutchProductions thanks
What brand is the rear diff
Vanquish Currie F9, sadly long discontinued.
well worth tyhe hard work.....bitchin rebuild!!!! Very nice truck......almost makes you wanna shelf it and not rip it but it rips so good!!! hahaha
Ha ha thanks, came out Rad, you can see this truck ripping my local sand dunes, check my channel for running videos 🤙😎 thanks for watching 👀
I thought it was gona be 2wd but i see ypu changed it to 4x4... more grip tho
Baja reys are 4x4 stock. 👍😎
@Double Clutch Productions _Still a Beauty💯... I don't know if I would be able to copy the rig
