Sweet trophy truck! Cyconxc’s old videos inspired me to make a custom one that I’m still working on. Nice to see the Baja Rey as I’m using alot of parts from that platform. I’m still working on it and it’s taken me over a year but I’m getting closer.

I keep coming back to your videos I have a lot of super fun dirt roads to thrash but I’m split on if I wanna buy a UDR or Baja Rey cause your builds are so slick
I'm not sold on the durability with the UDR. Plus UDR owners openly talk about the cost to bulletproof a UDR sometimes exceeding 2k. No doubt the UDR has great performance. If you can afford it the Super Baja Rey 2.0 is a dam beast. I'd still go for a 1/10 Baja Rey new 2.0 over a UDR just on the cost and durability. Dude nice truck I just got one in a trade such a nice design love it I just need one new axle for the front one of the cross bars came out near the diff cup would you happen to know of a cheap alternative for the axles besides the OEM? They're real expensive about 55 bucks average for a set jeez
Welcome to the baja family lol. Unfortunately I don't know of a cheap replacement. I will say when not abused those parts should hold up for a very long time. My v1 baja rey this exact truck is pushing 8 years old and still on most of the original parts. Imagine how difficult it is to take these apart and to put in a cheap part only to break it again, save up for the factory losi part you need and look at if you have a bunch of added weight that could be causing breakages, after market rims and tires are a good culprits for breaking stuff. Keep the weight as low as possible and avoid metal parts if not needed. 👍👊
does it come stock with 2 rear suspensions? or did you buy an extra set and fit them?
No unfortunately, it's a traxxas UDR front 134mm shock acting as a bypass to slow the axle down. If you need more info hit me up👍
@@DoubleClutchProductions damn i wanted a traxxas udr because in my opinion its the best scale driving overall. but its the same price as these 1/6 scale udrs. so it makes me kinda sad to spend on a 1/7.
@Sheldinator Everybody that has a UDR really likes them, For me I enjoy building and modifying rcs and a UDR in my opinion is best left stock. I would rather build 3 custom 1/10 scale rigs than have 1 UDR and I simply can't afford it at that scale.
Where did you get the carbon panels from? Also… you know what other body fits? The Associated SC8 body… and it looks really scale too… imo more scale than the Losi bodies

Great build! So is this a regular baja Rey? The suspension in the rear has another damper? Is that set up from factory with the stock trailing arms to do that or do you need to run an aftermarket shock tower mount and trailing arm? Looks amazing I’m thinking about doing this over a SBR, love that truck just not the price tag and this seems just as scaled as that for a lot less
Thanks, stock v1,baja rey. The dual rear shock is actually a UDR front shock and it takes zero mods or parts to run 4 shocks out back well minus the screws. The baja reys are literally scaled down versions of super baja reys and I think you can get a ton of enjoyment out of the smaller scale rigs, plus leaves a,little for mods

Thanks for watching, yes these bodies will work with both versions. The raptor requires extra pieces but the v1 does not.

I like 27wt in all four sprung shocks and been testing 15wt with the unsprung rear shock acting as the bypass, decent setup for my terrain but always testing, let me know if you find a sweet combo you want to share, thanks for watching

A ton of people reached out about these graphics. I made these myself with a cricut. I was in the same situation as you, couldn't find the right size or color stickers to do builds. I wish I could hook you up but I'm sure Speed Energy wouldn't be stoked. See if a buddy or friend of the family has a cricut machine and start there👍😎

Do the Baja Rey and ford raptor Baja Rey have the same dimensions? The reason I’m asking is cause I want to know if the Baja Rey’s body would fit on the ford raptor Baja Rey.
Yes it's just some extra roll cage stuff with the raptor, the stock body fits the raptor with no extra parts needed

Thanks man appreciate you watching. My initial reaction is I would love to hook everyone up because partly why I made this is because I am that guy reaching out to others. I don't want to get into trading or profiting from a company and although I would like to hook you up I don't want to upset any peeps at speed energy. I reached out to speed energy about doing a licensed rc livery for 1/10 scale, fingers crossed.
Understand the licensing part and non-profit part.. I’ll keep my out for a licensed version. It really is the coolest design imo.

Been using this stuff for awhile now with no issues, I am not the first to come up with it. It clearly worked here and I also did it on my Rock Rey .
Lol I just bought those same tenacity wheels for my Baja. I've practically upgraded mine frome the version 1 to the raptor version and I made it 6s🤣.

I always hit up the manufacture or company first so I can purchase stickers to support them but sometimes you have to make them

I actually reached out to Speed Energy and RG and the lady I spoke to didn't understand why I wanted stickers.
@@DoubleClutchProductions you would think they would be on top of this...free advertising to those who don't recognize the logo. Create different color schemes for the different flavors. Been a Speed Energy fan from day1. I remember when he had to change the original design. Current logo is🔥

Super easy, the only extra part is the longer shock. It's a traxxas UDR front 134mm shock.
@@DoubleClutchProductions so i took the spring off the rear shock that came with the baja rey and noticed it gave the rear much less travel cause of the length obviously, so im now looking into getting a udr front shock now, by any chance do you know if it limits the travel even still with the udr rear shock or does it even increase it?
The concept is to dampen the rear not increase or decrease travel, the second shock needs to be a,tad longer to achieve similar travel, the UDR front is a good option, powerstroke xt 5" Also work
Another thing I haven't tried but is designed to work is the hammer rey rear unsprung shock. I found a full UDR 8 shock set on Ebay for under $100, a set of powerstroke shocks is like $70+ after shipping so its worth looking on Ebay sometimes

Try using dry wall tape and shoe goo on your inside of your body shells. I am a basket and doing this makes them indestructible.

@@evanoconnor3814 you ever tried truck bed coating, the issue with drywall tape and shoe goo is it adds a bunch of weight and is really hard to do clean and look good.

As a,baja rey owner I would recommend a stainless screw set, RCscrewz is what I use but dynamite also makes a stainless kit for the Baja and Rock Rey, no the shocks do not come with hardware

That design is not aging well. Too big and bulky to be agile, quick and perform well enough. At least is not a Crapxxas UDR, that truck, for me, was a dumpster fire.
