Rania, you’re spot on about US politics and especially that Gaza is the result of all of the horrible policies and issues we’re fighting. The racism, the MIC, the corporate media, the fascist election system, etc.
It was nice to hear Rania say what I have been saying all over the place: that you can't change the Democratic Party from the inside. If you vote for them then why would they change? They already have your vote and that's all they need. They don't need to listen to you after that. But what they _are_ afraid of is that you will vote for someone else.

You think a brutal supremacist apartheid ideology like Zionism that self proclaims all Jews as "God's chosien people"(and not a God of all humanity)... is a privilege???
I am from Michigan and exactly for this reason regarding the Biden Administration and the Democratic Party’s support of genocide in Gaza and the Middle East I did not exercise my right to vote.

It would be fun to see Trump lose again... but then I like Yanis' projection that a Trump presidency might be good for Europe as it will be left on a limb and forced to go its own way. All said and done, I am glad I am not American and don't have to vote.
So there is a conundrum for women here, isn't there? «If if you're an American woman facing this barrage of assaults on your body and your spirit from the Republicans with the pro life antiabortion Supreme Court, this panoply of misogyny attacking you I can understand why today you might want want to vote for for Harris». Even if both parties have deeply problematic foreign policies, at least one party isn’t actively undermining the rights of 50% of the U.S. population. The choice then becomes: do women risk allowing Trump to win, which could mean further attacks on reproductive rights and healthcare for millions of women, risking the lives of 50% of the population, just because both parties are flawed on foreign policy? It’s not only about the tragedy facing Palestinians-American women, too, face dire consequences if the Republicans win, including death. Yet, Yanis Varoufakis, for example, hasn’t presented a compelling argument addressing this reality for women. It feels like a choice between bad and worse, and we, women, must choose the worse. Perhaps if Yanis was a woman, he would empathize better.
