Would love to see your updates on this car. I bought my first Porsche last year and these videos would help a lot. 👍

Great video! I love driving! My favorite car had always been the “catfish” Camaro 98-02, until I drove a 2007 Porsche Cayman S. My godfather had told me “ you love driving so much you need to get a Porsche!” I thought he was crazy! Til this day I’ve owned other vehicles and they don’t give me the experience like the Porsche Cayman did. I’ll be buying one in the future! Thank you for this video!

Porsche will change your life man. The only other car that tops it, at least for me, is a proper Ferrari

It's definitely more than a normal car (Honda, Toyota, ETC) but if you are okay with doing some research, it's manageable.
      Thanks for watching!

Great video! I have the exact same model, same year, only in silver for almost a yeat. Also had a missfire on the 5th cylinder:), coil and spark plug change cured it.

Great information regarding the CPO. I too thought that CPO warranty is almost equivalent to a new car warranty. Yes, most of those items you mentioned are considered consumables. I try to be fair about these things, after all, they're business and their goal is to make money. My experiences with dealers vary widely, some are willing to go that extra miles to make you happy. I would love to see more updates on your ownership experiences going forward. I also know what you mean by driving with top down! It's not always about what's the fastest or best performance. It really boils down to what do you enjoy and does your car makes you feel. If you keep that in mind, you can't go wrong! I'm am a new Porsche owner myself, and I do worry about something going wrong that would potentially ruin me financially, lol. I do put money aside for this purpose. Anyway, great content, and keep up the good work!

The good thing is, Porsche as a brand is quite reliable, so I wouldn't stress about it too much. Congrats on joining the club!

Yes, Happy Thanksgiving!! And yes, I cuss and fuss everytime I have to try to do something on the Boxster.

Yeah, CPO provides some piece of mind for MAJOR failures, but there’s a lot of fine print. I got my 997 and CPOs were few and far between. So I got one with good service history that I REALLY liked (also Yellow). I do most of the work myself. It’s bonding time with the car and gives me a sense of satisfaction. I do oil changes, I’ve replaced the water pump, thermostat, added a new radiator, fuel injectors, transmission fluid. Doing the plugs, coil packs and brake fluid over the winter with another oil change. I don’t even want to think what the deal would want. Also never want to part with mine.

I'm probably going to start working on my car myself as well. The benefit of these older generations is they aren't too hard to work on

Right, you can actually still see the engine. On the 991 (at least) you have to take the bumper off or something ridiculous to see anything other than the oil fill and a pair of fans.

It is a bit of a pain to get to it on the Boxster because of the roof, but nothing too crazy really.
      Also, Happy Thanksgiving mate!

I think you got hosed by your dealer on your rejected warranty claims, frankly; they probably could and should have advocated more for you, or may have been that they simply don’t have the relationship with Porsche that they need. I’ve had a CPO 2005 987 Boxster S and a CPO 2015 981 Boxster in the past, have had a leaking rear main seal, a failed oxygen sensor, crazed headlight lenses and warped door cards replaced under CPO warranty.

It feels that way. The CPO has since expired, but in hindsight, I should have tried some other dealers to see if they could have helped
