Bossman had the some of the best in ring chemistry any wrestler ever had with Hogan. Both he and Akeem became integral to the Savage/Hogan split angle. Also, if memory serves Bossman was Dusty's first feud when Rhodes joined the WWF in '89. Even stole his trusty night stick!
....and these "cartoon characters" made more money and brought in more revenues than the guys in the "wrestling is a sport" league. There is no shame in focusing on the entertainment aspect of pro wrestling, Vince always said his type of wrestling was entertainment, and WWF did it better than any other promotion out there and guys like Boss man made more money than ever before.
@@jonathanturbide2232 You're not wrong. Look at guys like Undertaker & Stone Cold. WCW brought them on & used them for a bit, but never saw anything in them. Soon as they turned up in WWF, they both started walking down the path to greatness. 2 grown men changed their lives by becoming cartoon characters, & they changed for the better and they never looked back
9:04 People always say Big Bubba had a high squeaky voice but I never thought so. Unless by the time he was Big Boss Man he was older and it deepened some
When Bubba came to WWF and assumed the Big Bossman gimmick he seemed to move better in the ring. Not sure if he had lost some weight or if he was just a bit more seasoned, but he always seemed a legitimate threat to Hulk Hogan's world title
The Lion and his lamb Yeah, Hogan always preferred to face monster heels and after beating the biggest monster of them all, Andre the Giant, who was left? But the Bossman was a big man who could move and was always one nightstick shot away from taking the title, at least that's what young me thought at the time.
Even kids like us knew he was a huge man and a stunning athlete in the ring. And he gave great promos in the WWF. Even more impressive knowing he never spoke in his NWA run.
The chair shot he got from Dusty was so cool he didnt sell , which made it better plus his sunglasses stayed i think his hat to , what it was like what WWF did with UNDERTAKER for being a wrecking machine and Dusty showed fear & Magnum TA to they backed off it was a moment that should be shown more
Jim Cornette and Brian ( Always second ) but never Last have been the most entertaining thing during this Pandemic. Corny is truly one of the last ties to the “Pro Wrasslin” that is sorely lacking in the Sports Entertainment world.
Watching it on the Network, it appears that the Bubba Spike botch was a miscommunication between Bubba and Mulkey - Bubba appears to be trying to lift him into a powerbomb position, but Mulkey is trying to hold onto Bubba's waist like he was expecting a piledriver. The result was something inbetween, where Mulkey landed at an odd angle neck/shoulder first instead of hitting with his back totally flat. Didn't look "unsafe" as a move, more like the two guys weren't on the same page and couldn't get in the proper positioning..
I always thought NWA and then WCW could've done a lot more with Big Bubba than they did. Big Bossman in WWF was good but Big Bubba Rogers was just a better character in my view. They could've built Big Bubba into a monster heel, Jim Cornette's hit man and singles threat going against baby faces like Sting and Lex Luger and Barry Windham with championships on the line in hot feuds I can't help but think that would've been big $$$.
Abyss gave a sit out powerbomb to a local guy named Titus at a local show. The board came up and cranked Titus in the back of the head. They had some run outs to buy him time.
I've heard MANY people say Big Boss man vs Barbarian stole the show at wrestlemania , can't remember which number, but 1 of the most underrated matches in history.
I love Corny. Believe he is almost a genius at wrestling psychology but sometimes he takes a little too much credit or pats himself on the back just a little too much
Jim’s impression of The Dream, however brief, was spot on perfect.
Cornette on Dusty AND Big Bubba, with an appearance by the Mulkeys?
Fuck yeah.

Bubba punching Dusty in the forehead is hilarious.
Dusty Rhodes found the talent but Vince Machon turn them into cartoon characters
King Sports who turned them into cartoon characters?
Vince actually thought he was the face after the Montreal screwjob, that should tell you all you need to know about his "brilliance" as a promoter.

Remember, Even when you can’t see Bubba, Bubba can see you.😈😈😈😈

My understanding is his natural voice was high and he would slip into it if he was excited or caught off guard

I remember he was one of the few who still looked like a legit threat to Hogan after WM 3.
He was just impressive.

Bubba lost alot of weight in the late 80s-early 90s, and gained great agility.
Bubba moved pretty quickly in Crockett Promotions, he was just buried on the Roster. WWF he had a little push
The chair shot he got from Dusty was so cool he didnt sell , which made it better plus his sunglasses stayed i think his hat to , what it was like what WWF did with UNDERTAKER for being a wrecking machine and Dusty showed fear & Magnum TA to they backed off it was a moment that should be shown more
In his Big Bossman gimmick, he scored a pin on Hogan during a house show. One of the few to do so actually.

Saw that episode last year on the network
I wish he Cornette would do more Dusty impressions.
Dusty sounds like a fucking riot to work with.

Nope. It was a magical board, because as we all know rings are constructed like Wild West boarded sidewalks.
what is the episode i assume of mid-atlantic championship wrestling the match on?

They had a long-ass match at a Royal Rumble I think
Great match, also his first match ever under his real name as an enhancement talent was also vs Barbarian on NWA TV.
Oh shit before i clicked the video, i thought the imagine of dusty Rhodes Tyler Perry's Media lmao hahhahahaaa
