Rest in Peace, Desperado! Thank you for the wonderful childhood memories! Without you, I never would have known the essence of what a pro-wrestler is supposed to be and what pro-wrestling should and could be! Charisma, story-telling, moves, psychology, building oneself up from the ground up, fighting back, the lineage, impact on business, longevity, promos and that soothing voice, everything about Terry Funk exuded vibes of a legendary stature. 🙏
According to the Bible anyone that died after Jesus' resurrection doesn't go to heaven until Jesus returns to earth, so therefore No one could be waiting at the gates for him.
Death is consistent, a legacy is the thing you work for. I bet Adam funk couldn't imagine over 100 years later his grandson would be remembered and appreciated more than anything he could imagine. To make your ancestors proud and to continue life is the main job of human. I love and miss you already, Terry funk! RIP forever, you worked on your legacy, and your forever known as one of the best!
Terry Funk is an absolute icon. Top 5 wrestler easily. What a body of work he's left us. I implore everyone to check it out. A truly special performer. RIP Terry.
Rest easy Mr. Terry Funk, thanks for all the great memories. The sport of pro wrestling lost a true legend… one of my all time favourite stars in the ring ❤
It's crazy seeing him here still looking pretty good and youthful but how he aged rapidly in a few short years. When I was a kid and first heard him speak in his normal voice I was fascinated by how soft-spoken he was.
As a big Tito Santana fan, it warms my heart that he was one of the first names that Funk dropped when he referenced the west Texas state football guys turned wrestlers
God bless Terry Funk. That man LIVED to entertain people. He dedicated nearly his entire life to the craft of professional wrestling. I will cherish the memories I have of watching his matches when I was a kid for the rest of my life. Rest easy, Terry. You’ve earned that ride out into the sunset. ❤️🥺
This was a great interview between these two. Jimmy Cornette is probably one of THE BRIGHTEST individuals when it comes to this business and it's history. I don't think there is anything he doesn't know. And Terry god bless you brother. You were a stand up guy in this business and all the memories you left us with. There will never be another like you that's for sure. I hope your resting peacefully now with your wife. And a big THANK YOU for everything you did for your fans.
Been listening to his audiobook for a bit and just wanted to hear Terry's voice. RIP to a great wrestler and a better man. A true role model for people. He was a legend
Just a wonderful conversation. Not an interview, a conversation between two friends. The Funk family , Dory Sr., Dory Jr., and Terry were the most believable wrestlers of the last seventy years. "Middle Aged And Crazy". R.I.P. Terry. God bless you Jim Cornette.
I never got to see Terry much due to being born in 94 but thanks in part to Cornette, other wrestling vets on podcasts, and the few ECW fan made docs I've watched, I feel like I've learned a lot about him and his career. RIP Terry, thanks for your countless contributions to the pro wrestling business.
What a treasure Terry funk was , Rip . I have an autographed ljn wwf figure of his . I wish I'd started collecting years ago. All my childhood heroes are dying 😢
Such an entertaining and legendary wrestler. Tough as nails with a kind heart, one of those crazy older guys that inspired so many young people by being tougher and braver than men decades younger. Terry in ECW was like a legendary sensei, him being older just made it even more inspiring. Also the ring gear in later life was so iconic, the striped tights, bandana and Funk U shirt, a classic look for an enduring legend. Incredible life and legacy.
Pure gold as always and RIP old Cowboy. I'm glad you stuck to your trade and didn't go to barber college. Now you can nurse a sick horse all day without worrying about being a knight or having to throw yourself through barbedwire.
Terry Funk is one of the wrestlers that should be included in everyone's "Mt Rushmore" of wrestling...God bless you brother, truly one of my favorites of all time, an icon, a legend...the best..you will be missed incredibly!
I’m in tears watching this again. One of my favorite interviews ever. I first saw Terry Funk live during his run with Jerry Lawler in Louisville, Evansville and Memphis in 1981. I had seen him in the wrestling mags, but once I saw Terry live, he became right up there at the top of my favorite list. Not long after, around 1984, I began tape trading so I could see Terry and Dusty Rhodes’ violent feuds in Florida, or Dory & Terry tag in Georgia, and finally I got to see the Japan stuff through tape trading. I remember thinking in 1993, during the ECW stuff that I wish Terry had retired, because I thought he had taken so much abuse, we wouldn’t have him much longer. With Terry departing this life, we only have his brother Dory Jr, Tommy Rich, Ron Gavin and Ric Flair as the original, great NWA World Champions. I know you are thrilled to be back with your life long love Vicki, just know we appreciate and love you for who you are and all you did for us in the Pro Wrestling business. Thank God we have TH-cam and it’s library of Terry Funk, one of the masters of the craft of Pro Wrestling. RIP Desperado, see you down the road.
Terry Funk lives on through his legacy. It's always sad to see a legend like him pass. He was one of those rare wrestlers that made you believe the story being told. He held character and made an impression on me when I first started watching wrestling. He will be sorely missed. God rest you sir.
It is amazing to see how reserved Cornette is with Mr. Funk. Normally on his podcast or even in other KC videos you can't get him to shut up or keep on topic with an answer, which we all love no shade thrown in this comment. You can just see and hear the reverence Mr. Cornette has for Funk and when Terry starts asking him "How did that happen. why was that?" Jim has the answer and Terry is amused and agrees. RIP to a legend. Let's hope Corney out lives Russo simply because Jimmy has more worth and that is on full display here when a legend like Terry Funk even recognizes Jim Cornettes knowledge and respect for wrestling.
RIP to one of the best to ever lace up wrestling boots. Heel or face, technical or hardcore, Terry gave us everything he had every night, all over the world. He loved wrestling and kept doing it longer than he probably should have, because he couldn’t give up doing what he loved. Thanks. And rest easy.
I just saw the news. That's so sad. Part of me is sad at the news of his passing but in an equal way I'm content knowing that all the physical pain that Terry was in later in life has finally been lifted from him. A great man, an equally great wrestler, and one of the funniest old guys in the business. Rest in peace Terry, this world never quite deserved someone as good as you.
A true legend. I first started watching wrestling as a kid about 79-80 GCW. Terry was funny but kind of scary as he seemed crazy as hell. I saw him and Dory Jr several times in Fl and they were kind of my favorite bad guys. It is jarring to see his earlier work on YT as he wrestled scientific and was a face. RIP Terry.
We use G.O.A.T. far too often nowadays, but with all due respect to the Nature Boy, Terry Funk is the Professional Wrestling G.O.A.T.! The world will miss you Terry. Rest well brother.
Makes sense, The Funks were their own bookers and didn't need to use any others. I also think Terry was brought in by the original Sheik to book the territory and try to save Sheik's detroit/ohio territory from death.
Rest In Peace Terry Funk. Thank you so much for everything. Sean Oliver you're the man.

RIP Terry Funk.
And Sean Oliver is an excellent wrestling historian and, um, journalist? Interviewer? Well Sean rocks.
Nice gesture Sean, class act as always. And rest in peace Terry. Thanks for the years of entertainment you provided. Won’t ever be forgotten.

Two legends. My eyes got wet hearing about Terry & they’ll be a river if I live long enough to see Corny go as well.
This is where Cornette shines, shame most of what he does now is clickbait and trolling instead of history.
