I was born in Hungary, left when I was three years old, returned to visit many times, have not been there recently, videos like this really make me miss my Homeland. Thank you!!
For everyone who will come into Hungary: langos is a very cheap meal in our country. Please do NOT pay more than 600-700hungarian forints for a langos (approx. 1,5-2 Euros or USDs) and these will come with extras (cheese, sour cream,garlic, etc.). Try to find a place which is not a tourist trap. Try hungarian roled pancake, called palacsinta, with fruit jam, or salted pancake filled with stew in paprika-sour creame sauce, called hotobágyi palacsinta. It is great. The last one you only can find in restaurants, not in the street foods dividers. One of the Hungary's favourite national dish is stuffed cabbage, try this with sour cream, and go out from downtown. If you will eat some real dishes and excellent wine, go out country, like Eger, Abasár, Villány.
I went to Europe two years ago and visited Budapest for just 3 days, but I had lángos twice!! I loved it! Wish I hadn't found your video because now I'm craving it so much!

Was in Budapest over the weekend (sept 18) the Langos outlet in the corvin building is closed. There is a message in Hungarian on the window but I cant translate.
Edit: I only watched the first half minute of the video before writing my comment first. The place he actually went to is pretty fine. Sorry, my bad :) Don't go to the FIRST* place, it's heavily overpriced, and all the fancy toppings... Just nah... We don't really eat lángos that way (see my other comment on this video). If you don't mind I'd suggest a place, it's in the city centre, and it's open 'till 4AM, so it's ideal for a gooood lángos after a pub-crawl. Love your video. That spot selling Langos will surely be in my list. The place is not far away from where we are going to stay in April 2020. No way I will pay 4000 HF. For Chimney cake I can go there early morning as breakfast.Happy travels.

You go to the wrong restaurants if you pay 3000 HUF for the shittiest cheapest food in Hungarian gastronomy, that's the price of half a steak. However 200 for lángos and 300 for kürtőskalács is a very good price.
Yes, the first places are very expensive. You can see the regular prices at 1:48. 500 Forints = € 1.58. We are showing the difference between 'fancy' street food and places where the locals eat.
Agree. and if you have watched the video, you can see that we are giving cheap alternatives instead of the 2800 ft lángos. By the way, we said 6000 forints is too much, not 600. - Last summer we had a guest who saw that they are selling hamburgers for 6000 forints at Kazinczy street. Have a great day!

What a pullout. I was eating flames today. I paid 750 for the classic version. Even the Hungarians are outrageous at the downtown price.
