I'm just over a minute in and we've got the Hungarian woman in the background "Huszadszor mondom, most leöntelek". Sounds like she was unhappy repeating herself (twenty times, specifically) and was ready to pour something over someone, hahaha! Love it.

The chimney cakes (kürtőskalács) actually originated in Transylvania, which was a part of Hungary prior to World War 1, but is now in Romania. Therefore, they are actually Hungarian and not Czech. We have been to Molnar's on Váci út several times and love it. You should have waited for the crowd to thin out to go in! Nothing beats their chimney cake with espresso!!

cool video guys! as for kürtőskalács aka chimney cake - it actually originates from Transylvania, which is a region that used to belong to Hungary, but now belongs to Romania. :))) and yes, if you want to get some, go ONLY to Molnár. One and only, the best.
I'm glad you tried and liked lángos though! :) Next time you're around, make sure to get it from the small stall at Arany János metro station. It's open throughout the night too, so it's perfect early morning food after a night out :)

If you come back to Hungary in summer at least visit Lake of Balaton not Budapest (Budapest doesn't look very different in summer). Badacsony (Badacsonytomaj) is great with some medieval frotresses (Szigliget), you can hike there, has great view on the lake and traditional hungarian wines to taste and buy from cellars.

No, the markethall in Budapest is not converted, even it looks that way I give you that. But this steal frame construction method by Gustav Eifel had been for a while a real rave in Europe and worldwide. 3:26 You are absolutly right. Originally Nutella had been an industry done chocolate-haselnutcream for bakeries and restaurants as a filler for certain deserts. The Germans had started the fashion to spread it on bread and the smart Italien salesman ( Ferrero ) were more than willing to manufacture it in this way.

Just curious. Do you stay in the Hilton Hotel? Just checked and the rate for August is nearly 300 AUD a night. Pretty dear indeed.

Kürtőskalács is hungarian, but to be more specific it's from Transylvania, the hungarians who lived they invented it. We don't usually eat that with Nutella inside we eat it with different toppings.
