  • "The heart of my work is about the very human need to live with authenticity, resilience and a deep sense of love and belonging," says Brené. Dr. Brown is a researcher, author and award-winning teacher of graduate studies at the University of Houston, where her focus has been the areas of shame, empathy and vulnerability and the effect those powerful emotions have on the way we love, parent and build relationships.

    Brene Brown, you have given me comfort on my toughest days. Thank you.
    I loved listening to your audio book. But I love YOUR voice. Please please read your next book yourself and don't give it to another narrator.

      Thank you! I had an ex who watched those shows...and it should have been a red flag. And I have friends who watch that keep things in balance, but they are not the people I discuss politics with...again thank you!

    I like the part where she talks about that even in an environment that many people say is the 'ideal' (a profiting company) can also not be truly the 'ideal'. I really love her talks.

    ZephZang, please know that my husband and I, and a lot of our friends, are doing our best to parent beyond our own experience of childhood, and give our young sons the knowledge that while there are boundaries to their behaviour, they are allowed to be sad, angry, confused and frustrated. And that we love them. Things are changing. Glad you survived.

    this is a perfect case of sheep leading sheep. Women criticize other women's looks, yet complain when they feel pressured into looking perfect. Men want to be free to have feelings and yet can often be backed into a corner by other men by being weak. Reality is lots of men are attracted to all types of women. And lots of women love men who show vulnerability. Men need to back men up, women need to back women up as well as both sexes being less judgemental of each other.

    "The problem is about what gets in the way...it's the struggle for worthiness."

  • @zammmerjammer
    @zammmerjammer 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    No, because anyone who would negate you like that (male or female) is not someone whose energy and presence you should value. Anymore than a woman who thinks she can only "get a guy" by being half of a full human being. Anyone who would ask another to mutilate their true selves is 1)afraid, and 2)not ready to accept THEMselves, much less anyone else.
    But, better to be alone and whole than in a toxic relationship.

    • @Alphacentauri819
      @Alphacentauri819 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn’t misconstrue your judgment of her behavior (calling her shameless) as meaning she actually has no shame.
      It’s ironic that you calling her shameless, is a shaming technique.
      Anyone who modifies their body to that degree, seeks so much external validation and significance…has massive shame. It’s acted out differently. It’s sad that you see the exterior, her looks and behavior and don’t look deeper. You’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
      A person who loves themselves, feels worthy, is deeply connected….would never ever modify themselves like she has. If you fully see your worth and value, you don’t feel you have to “fix” the outside and get attention.
      Getting curious, rather than outright judgement…always gets us closer to the truth of what is going on with another person.

    As a Men, I really feel frightened inside, that is it true, if I accept myself as a human , who don't have to please women, will I end up alone with no women and be labelled as a wussy or commitment phobic or loser because I can't fuck a women,is this video trying to show us that I can live as a humble being who don't have to prove anything to anyone ? If it is true, I will do anything for it.I really wish it to be true.

      Nishant Setia so many men feel this way and there are a huge number of men/women supporting the men of the world to finally feel complete totally whole, you're deserve to loved and you desire to love someone without conditions or baggage. You can have and deserve all of that now as long you nake healthy boundries and approach others honesty and kindly

    I am really sorry that you feel like that. Men have scared me often before now, lots of ways, but I know they are not all terrible. I know I have done things I am not proud of but we all do things that are not so good when we are in really difficult situations. We are all just frail creatures doing what we can. Men or women. Let's all give one another a break huh?

    I' so sorry to you and all men, that I have dismissed in any area. Yes she is right, in that statement. We have been guilty of "male bashing", some of the time. Completely unwarranted . I will strive to understand myself and my emotions, a whole lot more sympathetically, in this area...thanx j Aus

    Weird how I have heard same stories by her on different Talks that she has done and all of them are somehow the same but how she gets to the story itself is different and my focus for details and my ability to remember what people said and how they said it drives me crazy here because now makes me feel different about her. Oh well great subjects anyway.

    I wish you had also Zhang. I study misandry (man-hating, the opposite of misogyny) and our culture is rife with it. I am sorry for what you've been through, and I understand. I don't know if Starbanana is right about things changing, since I see misandry everywhere, all the time. There are many mens rights groups you might want to investigate. I hope things change - maybe the pendulum will swing back to the middle. Let's hope so.

    I don't know about your personal convictions, just as I'm sure there are well-meaning "pro-lifers" out there. But neither can backpedal from the toxicity of the regressive so-called "movements" they are associated with.
    You might be a "nice person" and also be a Republican, but then you are content to ignore the ugliness and bigotry at the core of the Republican party. Which would in fact suggest you are not that nice after all.
