Great to have you back, Simon. You'll never forget Maggie, and neither will we. It's almost 50 years since my childhood dog left us, and I can still shed a tear for him. The pain will pass, but the memories won't. My thoughts are with you all.
Really enjoying your videos Simon, you haven’t been making many lately, hope you and your family are well, looking forward to more interesting content and great ideas for camp cooking. Take care. Keith
Hearing this just now is so sad. Such a fine animal was Maggie. I know I wanted to hug her many times. You are so lucky to have had her, I know. A beautiful companion. She had so many wonderful adventures. Thank you for sharing her with us. I'll never forget her.
Another amazing video Simon. My heart exploded when you started to talk about Maggie. All the best to you and your family through this difficult time. She will be remembered.
Sorry for the loss of Maggie. Losing a family member is never easy. Glad you were able to get out into that amazing looking forest....soooo FLAT, prayers to you and your family as you remember Maggie!
Beautiful camp Simon. Looked like a lovely, lovely time. Good memories of Mags. The problem with awesome dogs is we outlive them. For me over 10 of them in my lifetime. Each is a piece of my heart/memories now. No words I or anyone says can take away the sadness BUT I pray the memories which are for our forever joy of them owning us will always be there to help. May the memories gently replace some of the heartache, as "life goes on". Again as always, thank you so much for taking us along with you and sharing Mags. ATB👍👍
I really like the part Ken, where you said they own us! Very true. I dont know if you believe in God, but I do know we will see them again in heaven, and it will be for eternity!😊
What a joy and privilege to have shared in a small part of Maggie's wonderful life, and how generous of you to gift it to us. These videos mean that 100s of thousands of us will remember her.
Once again Simon, sorry that you lost Maggie. It takes time to get over those good dogs. I've lost 3, the last 2 years ago. Still not quite over it. I enjoy your videos, though I don't comment much. Nothing better than trout on a fire outdoors. Cheers
You gave Maggie the best life she could have ever imagined. She was loved and cherished, and will be loved and cherished. You have given us all fond memories of sweet Maggie. She lives on in your videos and with your fans. Still, I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's never easy. All the best to you and the family. -Rob
Perfect stress-relieving getaway. Everyone should be so blessed. I know how the loss of a great canine friend feels. Our big cuddly Staffordshire terrier passed a few weeks after the loss of my first wonderful bride due to cancer. I swear Delilah hung on to be a comfort to my wife and family.

I just have 1 word for your dinner...MEOW! But my heart sank when you told us about Maggie. Condolences, man. It's so hard to loose a fur baby. We only get them for a short while. They bring so much joy, comic relief and companionship to our lives.
Spring is the most beautiful green of all; and can help heal a wounded heart. Thank you James, for giving Simon permission to share your beautiful woodland with us. Take care Simon, be gentle with yourself. Much love to you and your family.

Hi Simon, so sad to hear of Maggie's passing, she bought so much joy to so many people, she will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Deepest condolences from Dave in NZ.
We understand Simon. A loved dog is truely a member of the family. They leave a hole in your life just like a missing human does. Good to see you back and out in the woods.
It's amazing how fond some of us become of you woodsman youtubers. Thank you so much for sharing your moment of 'returning' after your grieving. So sorry for your loss.
Thank you for sharing Maggie with all of us. She was such a joy to watch. Each time we watch one of your videos we will remember The Big Black Dog. We were fans of hers, and of you. So when we see you we will remember Maggie.
Good to see you back Simon. Maggie really was a special girl who really did brighten up the videos with her antics. I know it’s awful when the time comes to let them go, but you’ll always have the memories and videos. Best wishes to you and all your family at this tough time.
This looked like a fun camp always a good time camping in the rain . RIP Maggie seems like such a sweet dog and lucky we got to see her on so many camps
Hi Simon, I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a furry family member is never easy. You gave Maggie her best life possible, filed with love, kibbles and adventure. Who could ask for more! Our thought are with you and your family.
Hi Simon, sorry to hear about Maggie. Once again your indefatigable spirit shines through. That trout looked wonderful and washed down with a couple of Norfolks finest beers. This video is medicine helps me get through. Thanks mate.
Hi Simon, another great video and a fantastic looking meal. So sorry to hear of Maggies passing, they certainly leave a big hole whatever size they are. It takes time, a lot of time to heal but remember the good times with her. Keep your chin up, she’ll always be with you I’m sure.
Simon, it is good to see you back out in the woods again, hearing your bucksaw doing it's job, and the crackle of a fire making your dinner. Maggie will be missed. For me, she will always be that large black fluff snoring away in your lavuu on a winter's evening. There are more adventures ahead, and as you carry on, we carry along with you. Thank you for all the work you've done! It's treasured!
I'm glad to see you back enjoying the outdoors, even in the rain. It's amazing how those four-legged balls of fur can get so deeply rooted in the heart. Remember all the fun and good times, forever. The initial pain will go, then you can smile about the memories. Even though it may be the furthest thing from your mind now, one day there will be another bundle of love waiting to claim another family. And join you on your adventures. Great video, my friend. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming trips. God bless you and your family, and ya'll have a blessed day my friend.

Losing a pet is harder than anything, they are loyal and your best friends, I feel your pain Simon, they never complain and are always happy to see you. Love your stuff bro 👍🙏
I am sorry to hear of your loss mate, a family member lost but never forgotten. kindest regards to you and your family always nice to see you cooking on an open fire thank you for the content.
Moin Simon from Germany, R.I.P. For Maggie. I had an old cat, who had passed away after 15 years of living with my family. Those pets are like family members. Cheers to yours
Simon, so very sorry to hear about lovely Maggie. Always devastating to lose a much-loved pet, and she was clearly very special. A lot of us out here in YTland adored her, too. Hope you and the family are OK. You take care of yourself, fella. Thanks for this film, really appreciated.
I had not heard the heartbreaking news about Maggie. I offer you and your family my deepest condolences for your loss. She was a lovely and angelic soul and I know you all will miss her greatly. Not to drag on about personal experiences but when we lost our 12 lb Shih Tzu in October 2021, the silence in the house was deafening. I never imagined what a presence a 12 lb. dog could have in a our house until she wasn't there. You have my utter empathy and sympathy. I know it was hard but Thank You for including us in your first foray since Maggie's passing. I really don't care where you camp or what you cook, it is just so peaceful and enjoyable to share that adventure with you. Looking forward to your next event! Take care and be safe! 🧡🧡👍👍😊😊🐶🐶🙏🙏
Hi Simon, I have literally watched all your videos and look forward to seeing when the next one is posted true inspiration, so sorry to hear about your side kick Maggie my thoughts are with you and the family at this difficult time all the very best.
Such sad news about Maggie but she was a great companion on so many adventures Simon. You should be happy and proud that you gave her such a great, happy adventurous life. All the best
Maggie will be remembered by so many. I wish for you & your family peace and happy memories of Maggie. May she be with you always. ❤ And thank you for sharing your videos...always a joy to watch.
Much love to you and your family in these difficult times ❤ They do leave a huge hole in our hearts when they leave, our precious furbabies ❤️ My own Henry sends bearded kisses to all of you, as he has many to share! 😅 And what a beautiful woodland you camped in! I'm sure Maggie will be with you in spirit when she's ready ❤🐾
I am truly sorry to hear about the loss of Maggie. I realize it was over a year ago, but I am just now seeing this. I’ve been playing catch up. I just watched the two videos with the canvas tent. The one with Maggie and then the one where you mentioned it still smells of her. I had a feeling something was terribly wrong. 😢. The loss of a furry family member is so hard. I’m sure she has crossed the rainbow bridge and is sitting at Odin’s feet eating sausages.
Amazing video!! Im so sorry for you loss. Rest In Peace Maggie, you were goodest of good girls :) my heart sank when I heard the news, I’ll miss seeing her. The mourning is always rough, but you’ll always have the memories! I wish you all the best Simon!
Another great video Simon. My favourite way to relax after a days work, watching your vids. So sorry to her about you losing Maggie. What a fab dog she was and luckily you've got loads of lovely video memories to remind you of her.
Simon, sending my love and big hugs to you. So very sorry to hear the sad news of your gorgeous fluffy bear Maggie. The videos with her in were always extra special and I know you will miss her so much. Thank you for sharing another adventure in the woods even though you are feeling this huge loss. Hope to see more from you again soon. All the very best x
Love you Simon. I know what you are going through and will get better over time. Maggie is just on a new adventure and some day, I feel like the both of you will reunite and be able to explore an even greater landscape then your woodland. Take care of yourself and be strong!
Great video Simon. I think your regular viewers will miss Mags almost as much as you do. She was a good girl. As I'm typing this, I'm looking at my beautiful girl and know that someday, I'll be in the same position as you. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. They are so much a part of our lives. She's with you in spirit on your trip.
That trout looked delicious. A spit roaster might be a near-future addition to my camping kit... Sorry to hear about Maggie. My dad and I lost one of my childhood cats in January. He was born in our garage, almost 17 years ago, and we've had him (and one of his sisters) ever since. Still to this day I find myself choking up when I think about him. It really goes to show how profound of an impact they can have on our lives. Also, I went on my first solo camp this past weekend, motivated by your videos (among a few other channels). Nothing crazy, just a tent at a well-established campground, and some hot dogs over the fire (and hot chocolate, of course), but it went smoothly and I had so much fun. I hadn't been camping since I was a kid, and now I can't wait to get out again! Thought you might like to know that you're motivating other people to get out and enjoy what nature has to offer.
Sorry for your loss! Thank you for sharing and thank you for the video. Great camp in a wonderful setting. Good for healing and reflecting. At 79 I’ve had my “once in a lifetime” dog, a Nova Scotia retriever years back. He was a delightful character, gone, but never forgotten. Delightful memories keep well.
Great to have you back, Simon.
You'll never forget Maggie, and neither will we.
It's almost 50 years since my childhood dog left us, and I can still shed a tear for him.
The pain will pass, but the memories won't.
My thoughts are with you all.
40 years for me and I'm like you. About once a year J still mourn.
Really enjoying your videos Simon, you haven’t been making many lately, hope you and your family are well, looking forward to more interesting content and great ideas for camp cooking. Take care. Keith

Love to you and your family in this difficult time. The harder the goodbye, the deeper the connection.
Very sorry for your loss Simon. Maggie was a beautiful old soul. Great to see you back 👍🍻😊
Hi Simon, I have literally watched all your videos and look forward to seeing when the next one is posted true inspiration, so sorry to hear about your side kick Maggie my thoughts are with you and the family at this difficult time all the very best.
I feel your pain mate for the loss of Mags. R. I. P. Sweet girl. ❤
Such sad news about Maggie but she was a great companion on so many adventures Simon. You should be happy and proud that you gave her such a great, happy adventurous life. All the best
Maggie will be remembered by so many. I wish for you & your family peace and happy memories of Maggie. May she be with you always. ❤
And thank you for sharing your videos...always a joy to watch.
Pets are family. I know your hurt 😢 . Fantastic video Simon keep them coming. 👍🏻
That's a really nice woodland, Simon. Much love, Maggie. 🐶😘
Great video, felt like we all needed that camp. I hope it did the job for you Simon👍
Thank you Jake!
I’m glad you had a great time , nothing better than a night under canvas eh.
