    I've been using Krytec bicycle chain wax lubricant on my pellets for many years for my spring piston airguns... it's important to wash your pellets of the residue first... I dump a tin a pellets in a screen strainer, rinse in warm water, add a couple drops of Dawn dish washing soap, scrub them with an old soft toothbrush under running water... dump them onto an old towel in a flat baking pan, dry the excess moisture off, then dump them into to pan... let them air dry, or use a hair dryer to dry them completely... dump the pellets in a plastic tupperware type container, spray a few drops (I still have a few cans of the aerosol Krytec), put the plastic lid on, and swish the pellets around... then dump them a different container to dry completely, then put them back in the pellet tin (I wipe it out clean before hand), and label the tin as being "Kryteced".
    The lubed pellets work well, and keep the barrel fairly clean... from what I can tell.
    I only have one PCP, a Career III 707 carbine... I use STP "One Lube" on those pellets, using the same process as above.
    It took me longer than 3 minutes to type all that !

    on my big bore 457 i use Dupont Wax based chain lube. Spray them down on a cookie tray and let them dry. I havent tried lubing my 25 or 22's.

    Hey Joe, glad youre posting more often. Yes, good idea for a series. Looking forward to slug reviews. Hopefully you’ll cover more than just the FX guns, but include slug performance in your other top selling rifles.
    Oh, might I suggest a lapel mic. better audio quality that way, not that it’s poor now.

    I washed and lubed my pellets last night lube them with silicone spray lube tried the pellets today now I have to buy a new tin of pellets as the accuracy as gone south...never again will I lube them

    • @AirGunScientist
      @AirGunScientist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is one of the reasons I say DON'T OVERLUBE (which is probably what you did, adding additional weight, and destabilizing.)
      That's why I said "It's better to NOT lube than to over-lube".
      You can probably clean off the excess by washing in detergent.
      Cheers

      @@AirGunScientistI've bought a fresh tin of jsb exacts and done nothing with them and my gun feels different and even sounds different and the pellets fit snugly in the barrel as apposed to the washed ones

    Hey, question....have you (or anybody else) ever lubed pellets/slugs with hBN? Or their bores?
    hBN is a great dry lube for bullets and rifle bores....curious if any airgunners have used it.

  • @dca7222
    @dca7222 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wd-40 contains lubricants but shouldn't be used more bc it's a petroleum based product and orings are rubber. Ballistol and silicone shock oil are my go to's for lubing.

    I understand about WD-40, but what about WD-Silicone?

    • @AirGunScientist
      @AirGunScientist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Silicone is fine, but not sure of what is WD-Silcone.
      Also, some silicone is like heavy grease. The viscosity will not be good for hammers, valves, etc., as it might cause stiction.
