The famous (Harold Melvin and) The BlueNotes really deserve the Mega Respect. Thanks for giving us songs never to be forgotten and always to be recreated throughout the generations. What an honor!!!
There was nothing like this group. They were fabulous..Back in the day all was good. Enjoyable! Headed out to a nightclub Friday and Saturday night dancing 💃 your ass off. Those were the days. This was MUSIC with MEANING......😎🇮🇹❤
I love the songs. it takes me back to beautiful memories, when it was safe to enjoy the music on your front porch and the basement parties wow😊😌 when the party was over we can go home not be afraid hoping no one will Rob or shoot us. Lord how the world has changed
Blue notes Are phenomenal-back then the Gentlemen really dress fine. You don’t find too many gentleman dressing up any more. I miss the good all days. Everyone went out they had a good time they was safe it was not as Shootin like it is today. I wish they had places where we can go and see these singers .God bless all of you stay safe stay home and stay healthy and I pray for all those to recover from the coronavirus🙏🏼❤️
The lead singer of this group is not trying to replace Teddy pendergrass. You can no more replace teddy pendergrass than you can replace one living soul for another. This guy is not replacing , he is making a new place for himself with an historic group. I like how he sounds and I wish him well
He is not smooth at all that is not the sound for the song. The song has a smoother sound. All that raspy sound is not called for. !! My opinion do the song justice. Not by screaming.
I'm watching Lloyd the only original Bluenote there. He's still have those moves you can see he does't hesitate his moves. Just a smooth dancer. Fantastic.
Their demeanor and group chemistry as well as Stage presence tells me that They are whom They film themselves saying They are The Original Bluenotes possibly before The late Teddy P.and Harold Melvin. They made a group decision to come back and keep The Hit Songs Alive as We the fans know them recorded by and promoted as HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUENOTES featuring TEDDY PENDERGRASS r.i.p.If the Business don't get em'the Lifestyle will.😎
OMG. You have given me the gift of eternal youth. I was a young man of 25 in 1976, spinning my "Hustle" partner, thinking it might never end. These guys have my wife and I up on our feet, with tears of joy. We have never "lost it."

@@michaelmeans198 They all passed on with exception of legendary Lloyd, give the brother on lead some credit trying to fill them shoes. If anything, this is as close to the original Blue Notes today with an original still on co-leads. Blessings.
Herold Melvin and the Blue Notes....love this group. This is music not like the younsters. today who put on a skimpy foul mouth performance. They need to watch those 4 decades of music 50 thru 80's. Cant come better than this. Unless you watch the original Blue Notes with Teddy Pendergrass singing "The Love I Lost" on Soul train....I just did. SUGAR bear did great but Oh you Teddy! Now they were smooth , movements tight! And can't beat Teddy......🎶🎤🎶
SUGAR BEAR IS THE TRUTH IN THE BOOTH , WISH I COULD GET SOME OF MY MUSIC TO THEM. IT FITS THEIR STYLE! LET A BROTHER BREAK IN BECAUSE I AM A TRUE WRITER. THERE'S ALWAYS A MESSAGE!
Great Group Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Saw Them In A Club Down In Manhattan Up Close They Were Great Then And Still Great Today, Thanks Guys For All The Great Hit Songs. God Bless You Guys! Joe Black ( A Bronx Tale) Actor
it makes me so happy to see these gentlemen still out there kicking these beautiful old classics that make you go back and make you remember how it was when you was young you're sounding good and I thank him for the sound and I thank you I thank you for just being the Blue notes
From what I understand, there are a few "Blue Note" groups that I know about. The group in this video is called "The Legendary Blue Notes". Lloyd (who is still here) and Larry (RIP brother) are originals. I had the privilige, and pleasure, of playing bass for these guys on a few occasions in Boston. The other group, that I know about, is called "Harold Melvin's Blue Notes". I learned about another group called "The Blue Note Review". Met the leader of this group once a few years ago. Not an original but supposedly toured with them at some point. This concludes what little knowledge I have about "The Blue Notes". More info about them would be greatly appreciated. Thanx guys.
Harold Melvin was the original and Teddy Pendergrass sound and looked similar. Harold was as good as they get. Teddy filled his shoes, however know way did nor could he surpass Harold Melvin.
FYI - When they recorded this song Teddy had not yet joined the group. The guy singing lead ( Harold Melvin ) was always the Leader of the group and sang most of the time , even when Teddy came aboard for a short period. A lot of the lead vocals that some folks assumed was Teddy had actually been Harold . Even when Teddy was in the group , the name of the group was " Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes ft. Teddy Pendergrass " . They were friends from Philly and had matching Vocal range's . Teddy was the Bomb when He pursued His Solo career .
I grew up in the 60's & 70's....and was in the music industry for a while as a singer/drummer/writer....and I wouldn't know a BLUE NOTE if they jumped in my car at a traffic light. Even if it were Harold Melvin, I'd say, "Who diss jumpin' in my car at this traffic light?"

They don’t make them like this anymore. I am sooo glad I was part of this era. Young Bucks don’t know
So sad they will never know real music I hear you glad we have to reminisce
the dancing is scrumptious love love love
Lead singer got some awesome pipes he Blew down the building!!
You can tell he came up in that era and laser focused his voice on Marvin jr/Teddy P.
Brilliant I enjoyed watching thank you so much for sharing it brings back happy memories thumbs up come on let's all get together and dance 💓💓🍀
RIP Larry Brown, heart and soul of the Blue Notes. Go on Lloyd, you make it still sound like it was 1971 again.
Beautiful music that lives on forever. Thank you guys

Such great songs!! I saw them in Albany, NY, July 1975 when they had several simultaneous hits!! They stopped in the disco I DJ'd in the next night!!

As close as you'll get with legendary Lloyd Parks and (late) Larry Brown. legends both.
Good to see that Lloyd Parks is still with us; the last of the original Bluenotes.
