It’s a lot harder being a drummer as main instrument to get all 10 drum tracks exactly into -18 input on all tracks but I know my tracks sound good so I didn’t clip. I’m talking about recording by myself and looking at my interface input lights from a distance behind my kit. I have a older Tascam that has 14 inputs. Thanks for the video!
7:00 here you can press "Ctrl+L" for single view(without split items view).. For preview the next active take press "T", press "Shift+T" for previous active take with single view without split.. Also u can punch record or loop record without split anymore after hit "Ctrl+L"👌
Kenny, I'm having the hardest time with my new system. New Mac Studio, new soundcraft ui24r. I made sure settings on Mac were done. Everything works on GarageBand! Another reaper guy, and Harman tech, weren't able to help
I just upgraded from 5.x to 7. The decibel values don't show up in the track meter by default like shown here. I know there's a way but I can't find it.
Great videos do you have one for, When I got to record second track with V. Midi keyboard and hit the first note I get very load feedback I'm using vsti have headphones on I'm ,I don't adjust settings I'm to new
By the way is there any way to bind manual global delay compensation (recording tab in settings) to every asio driver installed? Really useful for switching between audio interfaces! For now i just keep all values in txt file and manually changing it for maximum overdub precision
Eh buddy your vids are great I’m a newbie just a question I’m using easy drummer 3 I’m using different time signatures in a song , since u have to sync reaper with the same time signature how do u change the different bpms in reaper to match the changes? Do u have a video on this ?
Cool guitar. That amp setting totaly sounds like the guitars in As It Was by Harry Styles. This rith is at a lower pitch though but the voice as Fender calls the sounds sounds like the pre chorus guitars.
Select the punch in and punch out area of the recording on the timeline ruler - then right click the record button on your transport to select the "record mode time selection and punch" option. Happy punching.
Hey Kenny, your videos are a god send. Just a quick question about setting the input level you mention early in the video between -18 and -12. I’m not sure if you’re actually using a Scarlett solo or if that’s just the graphic but do you ignore the ring indicator on the audio interface for clipping and go exclusively off the meter in the DAW? As I know on the Scarlett’s they flash orange or whatever, I’ve found that my solo was making me have the input volume very low on the audio interface
Quick question on tape mode: what is the short cut for “quick punch in/out”? Also I see the loop icon is on but it’s not looping in the selected phrase
Just selected the area it will automatically punch.. nobody can do that hit shortcut key while playing the guitar, but if u made a custom key with pedal u will absolutely can
10 years. No idea about the tape mode stuff. Thanks!
Me to!

I have the same question: what is that shortcut for punch in and out on the keyboard ?
It's cmd+r or whatever shortcut you use for the record button. You hit it while playing the track to punch in, then hit it again to punch out
Thanks! I thought I was gonna have to rewatch the earlier videos because I missed something while taking notes
At 5:24, Kenny hits a keyboard shortcut to set the punch in/out points. What is that shortcut?
It's whatever shortcut you use for record button. You hit it while playing the track to punch in, then hit it again to punch out
Select the punch in and punch out area of the recording on the timeline ruler - then right click the record button on your transport to select the "record mode time selection and punch" option.
