You are the ONLY person I want teaching me how to use Reaper and how to record. THANK YOU for your style & swear words, this video is the only one out of several where the information really stuck. You ROCK!
Love the straight forward approach, learned a ton. Learned that I'm also my own biggest critic and my recordings are never good enough. You did a great job. Thanks for the lesson! Looking forward to more
Bought a focusrite and downloaded reaper like two years ago, got frustrated quickly, and its been on the shelf ever since. But now that you told me what a piece of shit i am, I just might give it another go.
What is the program you use for all of your chord sheets? That's extremely organized and you can get quick to song. I have to have that! Is it OneNote or something?
It's called Sublime Text and it's a program meant for coding but i love it for music charts. I keep the folder on a cloud service like OneDrive so it stays updated on all of my computers. Can take a while to figure out it's quirks but i think it's dope

Cool video. Can one make a midi (or keyboard) click track that would quantize the tempo to be uneven, like with a live band? Then whatever sample/plugin instruments one programs for the song can follow a changing tempo. That would be a cool feature anyway. Also can one do speed shifts for recording, say playing the scratch takes on half speed, and play a solo on top of that. When listening at normal speed again the solo would be double faster? What about pitch shifting recordings, any good on Reaper?
You could do all of those things! You can make whatever tempo map you want and everything will follow along. You can also pitch shift to your hearts content, get in there and make it happen!
@@JojosRecordingTutorials Wow, great. Seems like the best DAW solution for me (probably on Linux mint, everything to max up the processing on a laptop). You're shining btw. I don't know how else to say it. Thank you for replying and have a good one.
I think I am just using the default reaper theme and color coding tracks manually and consistently! I might have changed something and forgot though if you tell me specifically. There is a theme adjuster under Options > Themes > Theme Adjuster that you can mess with as well. I also use SWS Extensions which you can download and it can auto-color your tracks for you depending on their names. I stopped using that because I use more than one computer and the settings always needed to be reset so I just use default stuff for the most part. :D
I can't record mic and guitar at the same time, as my guitar interface is pod go, and my mic interface is focusrite vocaster, and Reaper don't let you use two interfaces at the same time grr.
@@JojosRecordingTutorials My Pod Go is not ony an interface it is a guitar amp modeller, so it has all my effects and sounds. I use the Vocaster for my mic. So I have to record all my guitar parts first, and then switch interface to record all my vocals. It is a pain, but the only way.
@@TheTimeProphet i understand, just get a new interface with at least 2 inputs. Then you plug your guitar pod output into one of the new interfaces inputs and the mic into the other. You don't need to use the pod as an interface. The way to solve your problem is to get more inputs, that's the answer. Get a focus rite scarlett or behringer umc and they will have now inputs and they are cheap
Don't know why you need to swear. You are talented, but I cringe with the speech interruptions. You probably will not or cannot change. I get it. Just giving you my feedback. I am really grateful for your help. You can be rough and tough but try to tamper down the language. You have a lot under the hood young lady. You want the entire audience to admire you. Please take this constructively. Rock on.
Good video For the next one you’ll prob get more views without the swearing; I can’t show this one to my kids that I’m teaching recording :) Thanks again for the vid, helpful tips!

I was thinking about making some new ones, I'll get on it!
Great voice and smooth Rhthm sounds awesome
A month of struggle, then you, in 15 minutes made sense of it all, thank you!
Happy to help! ☺️
I really learned a lot out of this, I have been trying to find something like this for ages. Thank you.
I like the way you do things. Instant sub, and can't wait to see more.
Dang! Now that's a good video!
Dang! Thanks!
Love this video! Great tutorial
This gives me new stuff to work on. Didn't even know about grouping tracks. Thank you Jojo.
It's all about the group!
No bs or fluff, love your style. Subscribed and looking forward to more Reaper content.
Great job Jojo! Thanks
Loved it mate!!
Loved it. Very RAW and Infomative .
Had a good laugh and learned a lot here. Very decent guitar and a sweet voice. Brilliant attitude! Keep it up!

Nice! Excellent tutorial. Could you let us know what kind of plugins you have for the appearance of reaper?

This is great! What is the program you are using here for chord charts?!
It's called Sublime Text 3, it's usually a program for writing code!
I thought it looked like a code editor! Which is perfect since that's what music is! Thank you SO much for all of this.
@cocvhecv totally!
it was a good sh....t

Sounds like it's time to get a new audio interface with more than 1 input. Get rid of the vocaster and get something with more inputs
