- Today is a new #adventure catching Herring for #salmon #fishing for Spring Chinook! Sometimes the bait fish come into the bay in huge schools and it can be a blast to catch them to use as trolling bait!

Next time you are in Newport hit me up and I will buy you a beer! We got about 20 pounds of herring last Saturday, now I have to figure out brining and getting them ready for the Salmon.
If there is a way to hit you up, I don’t know how other than to comment here.
On the fish, don’t you freeze them as is and brine batches as needed.

You should’ve went to the jetty if your ankle is feeling better. We got two and a half five gallon buckets in about an hour of herring fishing on Monday
Do you know if it was during the incoming tide or slack tide or outgoing tide?
