It’s always such a pleasure seeing you two respond to this music I grew up with over the past fifty years Yes, you a sayin just what we say even decades later … “how can ….?” But that’s what we want to hear and see. Our fellow humans sharing in our own very personal enjoyment of these great sounds.
Yes, Robert Plant wrote the lyrics about a past relationship. His girlfriend wanted him to choose between music and her. Guess who won! We did!!!! You really are a lovely couple and I very much enjoy your reactions to the music I grew up listening to. Its almost as good as hearing it for the first time myself. Jimmy Page once said that he doesn't play music, he plays feelings. No truer words were ever said, and that is why Zep is my fave band, other than the Beatles of course
One of my favorite lyrics that just stands out to me, saying SO much in just a few words: “We are eagles of one nest, and the nest is in our souls”. Just beautiful.
Accountancy was Plant's father's hope for his son but Robert was pursuing a musical career from his teens. Whatever steps he took towards accountancy they didn't last long and he left home at 17 to become a singer and lived with wife to be Maureen. In 1967, aged 18, Plant appeared in court on driving charges his occupation was "pop singer". The lack of steady work meant it was a struggle and Maureen, a nurse, was for a while financially supporting him. Robert was forced to work in Maureen's father's steel business for a short time before Led Zeppelin came to the rescue. After Karac died in 1977 Plant did contemplate becoming a school teacher. His absence on tour in the US when the child became ill a left a feeling of guilt. However Plant did return to the band but the touring stopped for a years. In 1979 and early 1980 they played a few live concerts close to home in the UK and Europe . A planned US tour in late 1980 never happened due to Bonham's death.
As Led Zeppelin gets reassessed by fans both old and new, some songs that seem to have flown under the radar are finding new life. This is one of them. Only played onstage with regularity during their 1977 US tour, and only a handful of times before and after. Another song with newer life is When the Levee Brakes, which was only played live a half dozen (or so) times during the early leg of the tour supporting Physical Graffiti.
I grew up listening to Zeppelin long before there was a internet to look up the words. Houses of the Holy was the first album with all the lyrics posted. For me it's always been about the music Robert's voice is a instrument on it's own. He could be singing blah blah blah we used to make up our own lyrics and argue about what he was saying. To me it's all about the music.
It's not useless. Nothing makes people like me happier than hearing these songs for the first time with you (even though we've heard them hundreds and hundreds of times before). It's beautiful to see your reactions to music we've loved our entire lives. Keep going! Oh baby!
APESAR DO MEU INGLÊS NEM EXISTIR... MAS IMAGINO O ESPANTO DE VCS. COMO PODE UMA BANDA TRAZER EM CADA DISCO APESAR DO PESO UM SOM SOM DIFERENTE. LED É ISSO, UM MUNDO A PARTE.
I was a teenager in the 70s but was a Pink Floyd, ELP, Rod Stewart, Bad Co, and Status Quo LP collector, so I only heard Stairway to Heaven off the radio and only bought Led Zeppelin CDs about 5/6 yrs ago, proving it's never too late to follow an artist/group.
In my humble opinion the best double album ever. I was only ten years old when this album was released. It took thirty years until I found this utter masterpiece.
James Patrick Page + Robert Antony Plant + John Richard Baldwin + John Henry Bonham, the juggernaut of Valhalla, best band EVER. Greetings from Danmark 🤜🇩🇰🤛
Robert Plant unexpectedly had a dream of a lost love of 10 years earlier. A very vivid one that made him think about her again like he hadn't in a long time. The music was a composition that Jimmy came into the studio with - having composed it on his own. The result is a gorgeous, emotional merge of words and music.
É ISSO MESMO DUPLA E BELA MORENA, CADA DISCO DO LED ERA UMA SURPRESA. NÃO TINHA COMO SABER O QUE VIRIA. NENHUMA BANDA, REPITO: NENHUMA BANDA FEZ ISSO. TOCAR DE TUDO E BEM. JAZZ, DANÇANTE, BLUES, HEAVY, PROGRESSIVO E ATÉ SAMBA.
One of my all time favorites of all music. Such feeling. This song and pink Floyd's time trally makes you think about how fast the years go by. Great reaction. I love your beautiful honesty
This was playing in the background the 1st time i called my wife 33 yrs ago. It's "our song" to this day. 2nd is "I'll Never Leave You" by Harry Nilsson from the Nilsson Schmilsson lp...not a bad song it either...
Zeppelin were masters of 'light & shade'. They could produce thunderous riffs & delicate acoustic moments in equal measure. This is one of my favourites, lyrics by Robert about his wife Maureen. Please check out another of my favourites from this album 'The Rover'.
This song is not about Robert's wife. This is about a past relationship of Robert's that asked him to choose between their relationship and his career.
You guys are so right!!! They take you on a trip around the world and back again. Hence, this is just one reason why they are called the GOATS. They were the best, just the best!! Love your videos guys. Thank you.
Adore and get excited to watch your Zep reactions. You should start some 70's era Yes reactions. See how feel about them. Amazing musicians, ethereal lyrics, voice, and best bassist ever. 😊 imo Ty for this reaction! Great cut by the boys.
great reaction to a great song. Zep matured by this time and were writing amazing songs. I really wish you two went song by song starting at the first album
I have been enjoying your channel very much. It is refreshing to see people listening to this music for the first time and really feeling it in the way I remember from my youth. The good news is, the impact of these songs never goes away. Every time I listen to Led Zeppelin, I feel it deep. It always brings me joy. I look forward to more reactions to Led Zeppelin. I would love to see you, do the lemon song, or when the levy breaks. You decide because it does not matter what song you pick it will be great. any song any album
We went to see them a couple of times, for the music of course and just to see them live in person, their whole vibe was like magic from another world. Love your reactions.
This song is like a warm blanket and cup of hot chocolate on a rainy, snowy day. Sitting in front of a fire watching the weather outside the window. hmmmmm I think maybe I took too many tokes.......
Guys, your reactions are so heart-felt. Love watching you and taking in your comments. If you like live versions of Led Zeppelin, could you do a reaction to The Rain Song, live at Madison Square Gardens in 1973 please? You’ve heard the studio version of the song but the live version is even more special. Thank you❤️
There are a number of classic Zep songs you are enjoying & will enjoy in the future. The very best rock band that ever was.I would suggest you may like another top male vocalists in Paul Rogers . I would suggest listening to another fabulous 4 piece talented musicians called Free Try Mr Big live from 1970 would be a good start.
the Song Remains the Same and Rain Song performance at MSG is truly incredible...only down side is the movie clips that are confusing to some folks...but Page on the double neck is just incredible during that performance...no doubt!
It’s always such a pleasure seeing you two respond to this music I grew up with over the past fifty years Yes, you a sayin just what we say even decades later … “how can ….?” But that’s what we want to hear and see. Our fellow humans sharing in our own very personal enjoyment of these great sounds.
Since I was 11 years old in 1977 THIS SONG has never gotten old in 47 years.
I graduated High school in '77, ❤
A STUNNING Zepic..That solo can make a grown man weep..
I discovered Led Zepplin at 13 in 1970 and I listened to them today at 67. I am so very lucky to hear each song when it was new
I'm the same , 60 now been listening to Zepp since I was 15
Physical graffiti is Led Zeppelin’s masterpiece
I agree but if you’re a true Zeppelin Head you gotta listen to it in order from track one to the end. It just fits like a glove ❤
This song was written and recorded in 1974 and still feels contemporary. Nothing today comes close.
This is one of my personal favorites
Another great song by Led Zeppelin - I’m loving your journey with them, especially as you discover the depth of their range ❤

Jimmy’s best solo. Playing Robert’s subconscious once again.
One of my favorite lyrics that just stands out to me, saying SO much in just a few words: “We are eagles of one nest, and the nest is in our souls”. Just beautiful.

What a nice couple you are !
Robert started out as an accountant,he only lasted about 3 weeks luckily for us!😊
Accountancy was Plant's father's hope for his son but Robert was pursuing a musical career from his teens. Whatever steps he took towards accountancy they didn't last long and he left home at 17 to become a singer and lived with wife to be Maureen. I bet you know what song is the 'whoopy cat' 😅
WoW love your description!
Often, Led Zeppelin song, especially the acoustic slow melodies, brings me a feeling of naustalgia ❤
It's not useless. Nothing makes people like me happier than hearing these songs for the first time with you (even though we've heard them hundreds and hundreds of times before). It's beautiful to see your reactions to music we've loved our entire lives. Keep going! Oh baby!

Some bands would have made two or three songs out this. They were amazingly creative.
The Mighty Zeppelin 🤘🤘
Hands down, the best song I've ever heard.

The music was a composition that Jimmy came into the studio with - having composed it on his own. The result is a gorgeous, emotional merge of words and music.
Yes, I do know the song for about 50 years now, but it's the pleasure to watch you people enjoying it that makes it all worthwhile.

One of my all time favorites of all music. Such feeling. This song and pink Floyd's time trally makes you think about how fast the years go by. Great reaction. I love your beautiful honesty
Robert's lyrics never get the attention they deserve,📜
This was playing in the background the 1st time i called my wife 33 yrs ago.

I have listened to a lot of different guitarist and Page is my absolute favorite! Great reaction ❤
Simply the best.
Lovely song. One of Page's guitar orchestra songs, like Stairway or Achilles Last Stand. So many guitar parts, layered, orchestrated so wonderfully.

Each song is so unique...so rich...you just sit back and watch their beautiful art.

In The Light or Down By The Seaside -next.
I read that Plant wrote this song about a woman who gave him an ultimatum, Led Zeppelin or me. He made the right choice
