    Thanks for watching. This blower would sometimes start but mostly when it warm outside. But if it was cold, it didn't want to start.

    My last (and I do mean LAST) Troy-bilt mower was like that. It was running fine when I stored it but would not prime when I was trying to get it running the last time. It was the air box/primer gasket leaking and that's where I had to surround the air passages with #2 Permatex. Then it started fine but the self propel quit as well as me and they all went down the road. I went myself for a week too later on. I know people cuss battery stuff all the time BUT when it comes time when you turn over + 3/4 a century and have added health hazards you acquire while trying to do the right thing and aren't really able to fool with much, an instant start and run rig is a very handy thing to have. Good fix on the Husky. Blessings 2 U!

    My Kawasaki Brute Force has similar issue when starting in cold weather and it needs constant idle adjustments. The carburetor is equipped with idle knob on a flex cable for easy reach and the performance is dictated by engine temperature and ambient temperature and it takes time to get used to while annoying at the same time.

    I put a really cool modification on my Honda HRN216 mower today. Those have the GCV 170 engine on them, but today I took a GCV 200 off of a junk Honda HRX217 and mounted it onto my HRN mower. So now I should get some more power out of the mower now that it’s got a bigger engine on it.

    The tape you asked about is most likely construction sealing tape used to cover the seams (gaps) between 4'x8' sheets of either foam board or OSB sheathing that's used as siding underlayment for the exterior walls of various dwellings.

    I see after your first round of repairs and the test start the blower looked to be dumping fuel somewhere on the underside of the carb. Is that where you made your own gasket?

    I have a 9month old Husqvarna blower 130bt it starts fine and will run in choke but then bogs down and quits when I turn the choke off… does that sound like the carburetor? The filter is super clean, I’ve only used it maybe 20 times. (Bought new). I’m thinking I screwed up and used a 40:1 instead of a 50:1 2stroke oil to mix in my gallon of gas 🤷‍♀️

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Either the carb has been less effective at delivery fuel, in your 20 uses, which I'm not sure, how much time has passed. And my experience is, changing from the 2 mixtures, will have almost not effect on how the machine runs. I would try adjusting the L screw on the carb for more fuel first. But I do think your fuel system and carb needs to be serviced

  • @RussellBooth1977
    @RussellBooth1977 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I had a motorbike which was like that,I think that it was worn piston rings which caused the problem .
    When I was doing my apprenticeship my manager had trouble getting a Ryobi line trimmer going which was getting repaired under warranty,I found out that it had a torn carburettor to cylinder insulator base gasket so I ordered a new one, fitted it & it started right away.
    We had all of Ryobis petrol lawn equipment dumped onto us, Ryobi didn't really know themselves like they didn't have equipment to test for crankcase leakage & my manager was an electrical mechanic by trade,he rewound a few electric motors in his time !

    Yes, to your question. Have a Craftsman snowblower that works fine when I work on it to get ready for winter but in very cold weather, it doesn't stay started and then won't restart. I use a back up blower and have done all I can to get this problem blower working. New carb, gaskets, plug, correct fuel, replaced gas lines from tank and carb, store it properly and still it has issues. Compression is good 135psi, when it runs, it runs well. It is over 10 years old and started acting up about three years ago. Still play with it but still not satisfied. Not sure what else I can do. Yes, I did adjust the carb but really cold weather is problematic. Thanks again for your video tutorial. Always learning!!
