Hi there, I'm in Australia, temperate climate. What would be the best potting media for pelargoniums. I am finding that I am getting a lot of rust due to lots of rain. My plants are outside. I have just been using premium potting mix

Hi Josephine. You can use any potting media but ensure you mix in plenty of drainage material like grit or perlite making up a third of you total mix with that. Realistically though it’s the environment that is causing your rust problems not the potting mix. If you’re getting rain in humidity conditions it will be difficult. I can only add to try and protect them a bit and strip off infected leaves and spray with a fungicide.

Thanks for theses informative videos. what is the best fertilizer to use to get more blooms? Some people say use one with high potassium while others recommend those with high phosphorus. what do you recommend?
